City Hotel Wetzlar

Good location. Confortable beds.

No refrigerator in the room. Street parking.

The room was clean

Parking was impossible to access we spinned 4 times around the hotel. No reception. Room was freezing. Narrow bed. We asked for baby bed but didn’t get it, we had to put baby between us in a 140 bed. No one was there to ask for the baby crib. It was suppose to be a relaxing experience but boy, what a night it was.

Staff were very friendly, nice breakfast buffet, bed was comfortable but not as firm as I prefer it which of course is just a personal preference

As a German living in the US I would have liked a bigger choice of bread/rolls being back in the bread capital of the world. Still it was sufficient and great tasting If you can’t or don’t want to handle stairs then this hotel is not for you. It’s great exercise, but there is no elevator, should you require one

Almost Everything. I found the hotel to be just about excellent, from its proximity to both the city centre and the railway station, to the friendliness and co-operation of its staff. It was great value for money and the breakfast, at just 10 EURO PER MORNING, represented EXCELLENT VALUE FOR MONEY. I went to Wetzlar to see the famous LEICA CAMERA FACILITIES, and the CITY HOTEL is near to the LEICA MICROSYSTEMS complex of buildings, which is just 15-20 minutes away on foot.

I wish the hotel had an English-language station on its TV, but that's only because my rough German wasn't good enough to understand any of the (only) German language stations. I had thought that the bed had insufficiant blankets, but in fact the internal heating system in the hotel meant that I actually felt TOO WARM, rather than too cold.

Good location for a one night stay, excellent breakfast, very reasonably priced, very clean & lovely lady on reception was very helpful.

Very cheap and basic as a stop over. Looks a little dubious from the outside but it is clean and well located. I would stay again.

It is situated near Wetzlar Altstadt (historical city center) which is very convenient for walks. And also right next to the City hotel is a shopping center which is also a plus. Parking right in front of the hotel was welcomed,

They used some strange and smelly cleaning detergent so when we returned in the evening the halls smelled weird. Also when we arrived the receptionist didn't even try to speak to us in english, but on the other side she managed without it.

Staff did their best under the circumstances. Clean.

The property is virtually located underneath a busy motorway. Might be okay in the winter with the windows closed. Portable air conditioning units were provided, but these were too noisy to be useful.

Inside everything was top but outside a bit disorganized!!! Super nice staff, delicious breakfast and everything perfect at the reception!!!

Clean room, breakfast was OK.

The hotel is next to a very busy road (even at night). My room was equiped with AC but it was hot anyway. I could not open the window because of the road.

Very clean and comfortable. Fresh bottles of water left in the room each day was a considerate touch. Quiet considering busy location. Very convenient for rail & bus stations which is why we chose this hotel on this trip. Old town 15 min walk along river.

Perhaps a kettle & teabags to make a hot drink in the evening would have been nice.

Very good service even though we arrived late around 2245. Clean and comfortable rooms, we had the attic room so portable AC and fans were provided. I was surprised at the cleanliness and the facilities offered.
