Pros +
- We especially liked the location and the style of this hotel in old town Wetzlar! It is a half-timbered building that has been modernized, and done so very well. Our room was small, but that can be expected when staying in historic buildings. Despite the size, we did have every thing we needed. It was also neat and tidy! The best part was a little surprise built into the wall, but I will not spoil it here ;)
- Poor
- Location is Fantastic, but small map inside the hotel to show nearby parking and some navigation around would be helpful, as hotel located in pedestrian zone.
Cons -
- We did ask the owner/host of the hotel to confirm if the parkplatz that we were parked in was okay, and she was not exactly able to confirm. I will share that we parked in Parkplatz Lahninsel which is about a 5-10 minute walk from the hotel. It is free to park there from 6 PM to 9 AM. The time in between you must pay. We do not mind paying for parking and it is typical to have to park outside of old town. You will also need to figure out a good spot to drop off your luggage if you are not able to walk the distance to/from the parkplatz to the hotel since such a location is not specified. I would also like to share that you must be able to carry all of your luggage up the original staircase. We are younger and able to carry our belongings to the top floor of the hotel. However, if this is something you are unable to do, consider asking for a room on one of the lower floors.
- The booking.com confirmation said: King roomThe room confirmed by the hotel on the date of arrival said "51 Dienstmädchen" = "51 maidservant"The room door said "51 Laufbursche" = "51 gofer"The room was on the top floor and probably was formerly used by the servants in this historical house. As a consequence it was tiny. So was the toilet bowl. And the room was not cleaned, seemingly because I did not hang the sign "Please clean the room" outdoors. Unfortunately there was no such sign in my room. Luckily I only stayed three nights.
- 1/I took my elderly parents with me. There were no information that hotel hasn't have elevator. It was very difficult to climb the stairs. 2/ I asked in advance for extra pillows but got nothing and we could not sleep well/ 3/ The toilet sink is like from kindergarden - small and very low placed - it was very difficult to use it.

Perfect setting in the old town in an attractive building - about 20 minutes on foot from the train station. The building itself has been beautifully restored and forms part of the city wall. Friendly ambience; breakfast is available, restaurants are nearby.
Stunning and unusual old building with unique features, right by the river.
Location. Characterful building.
Tiny room. No staff. No parking
Recently opened hotel, lovely old building in the very city centre
There are water stains on the wood floor in the shower, which made a bit of untidy impression
This hotel was in a great location and had historical character. Had lovely views from our room of the river.
Difficult, uneven stairwell to get to our room with twisty corners. Difficult with luggage. No lift. Very tiny rooms. No space. Slanted roofs. So difficult to manoeuvre inside the room. Beds pushed up against the wall againts slanted roof so difficult to get into second bed against the wall under slanted roof. No blackout curtains. Very hot in the room. Would not recommend.
Excellent location in centre of historic Wetzlar; Breakfast was very nice and it was great to sit outside next to the bridge over the river Lahn in the hot weather while we were there. Hosts were very hospitable and helpful. Sparkling bottled water in room was a much appreciated! Additional drinks available from fridge in reception.
Do not forget to look our for the e-mail that is sent on the day of entry if arriving after hours as this contains important arrival information. This information was also available via Booking.com app but buried deep in hotel information pages..
Quiet, comfortable, central, charming
There is no elevator. If you have trouble with stairs, you should let the hosts know...
Interior, location, breakfast, checkin
Very cute little place, feels authentic and within the village but in a quiet place.
You can hear people walking as it’s not as modern as other hotels. Didn’t bother me mich but we got lucky as we could have been with chatty / noisy people and have a rough time. Especially since there is no one at the reception.
The location of the hotel in the old part of town is stunning.. However, it is the scale, scope and quality of the completed renovation works that needs to be applauded,. The renovation project of a property from 1661, to bring it up to modern standards has been conducted exceptionally well. The hotel staff (especially Rico) was extremely knowledgeable and helpful,
Sleek and modern room with lots of little extras that made our stay very enjoyable. The breakfast was very good value for money as well. We will be back!
The location was perfect - romantic by the river, near the old town, quiet and everything in walking distance. The rooms were renovated and decorated with so much love and detail, the beds were comfy. Breakfast was made freshly on request - we had a wonderful time!

Breakfast took the piss - 15 euros for very weak drlect7oj. Good location. Lovely staff, but entry and check in with pin. Didn't sleep that well, beds not so comfy. But no problem with small rooms - I found the beams charming
Very charming Boutique hotel with historic charme but all rooms and facilities new.
I really liked the easy self-check-in. There's also satisfying parking instructions (public parking close-by, direct access for unloading possible). The hotel has been renovated with attention to detail and now has a nice modern rustic charm that I really enjoyed. During my stay, everything was nicely quiet. People with disabilities should remember that this is an old house with a rather narrow and steep staircase, but you don't ask for a beach at a mountain hotel either, do you? (So that's no criticism, just a point of awareness.) This next thing as a positive experience because of the hotel's reaction: It's a little oversight that the WiFi password is only placed in the key pick-up area. If you don't see it (I didn't), you only notice it on the room. I left a hint on this to the hotel owners during my check-out and they are likely going to change that.
I think the hair dryer is too small and without enough power. A different model, 5 EUR more expensive in purchase price, would make a big difference in comfort.
Wonderful place as a fairy tale with beautiful view to the river. Historical part of the city is next door to the hotel. Stylish room with all needed inside, comfortable with several option of lightning, windows, table, glasses. Good bathroom equipment: hairdryer, cotton pads, shampoo. Very polite service, trying to answer to any request immediately. Medina helped me a lot to order a taxi because Uber worked wrong.
A beautiful and romantic room within the Altstadt, with a secure place for storing bikes overnight.
