Pros +
- Excellent location, magnificent view ( we had a room with a terrace overlooking the lake d Orta. Bed ultra comfy.
- Staff v nice. Breakfast good. Location good.
- We had an issue with the physical key in the lock for our room, and the staff went above and beyond to help and make it right. I don’t consider this event a negative. It’s a charming older building (that is still updated) with these small hiccups. The staff were friendly, professional, and genuinely nice. The breakfast buffet was wonderful. I was disappointed I slept through the first days visit as I was recovering from jet lag.
Cons -
- The food was not as good as expected, unfortunately. Breakfast also lacked fresh fruits ( just kiwi,Grapes and pears) and/or a fresh fruit salad.Croissant also lacked crispness and scrambled eggs were tasteless.
- The big problem was that the air conditioning in our room didn’t work & we had a very uncomfortable night. You could tell that this was a common problem for them but during a heatwave it means you can’t sleep.
- This has NOTHING to do with the hotel, I just wish the sidewalk on the main road went to the little turnoff for the hotel. We were there for a wedding down the road, and while I felt safe walking at night (less cars), I felt like it was better to take the walk along the lake during the day to be away from the traffic. While beautiful it was a bit longer. Again, this was not an issue with the hotel, just something to keep in mind if you do not have transportation. We also took the train from Milan and that was a bit more challenging than I anticipated. I was not familiar with the routes or the stops. It would be helpful to coordinate a taxi ride with the hotel ahead of time to get from the station to the hotel.

The staff were all friendly, professional and very helpful, particularly at the front desk. The lakeside location is the highlight! We swam in the lake and the pool. There are kayaks, paddle boards and bikes to rent. (Also, a jacuzzi, sauna and steam room). The walking path along the lake is wonderful and it’s a lovely 10-15 minute stroll to several very good restaurants in Pettanasco. The breakfast buffet was fabulous. There is a beautiful dining room for dinner, and four-star restaurant was an unexpected bonus, as was the live music on Sunday nights.
No complaints at all.
Very good
Our room was described as having a lake view. We actually had a awful view with a tiny glimpse of the lake but mainly a view of ugly flat roof, car park and the lake side bar. Very disappointing
Fantastic open air 30m pool beside the lake - swim in either, an idyllic setting. Modern very spacious hotel, large veranda with lake view. Extensive breakfast buffet including all the barista coffee you can drink. Very clean, tightly run, staff very friendly and helpful. Plenty of free car parking on site. Municipal boat ferry calls at the hotel jetty.
There’s nothing to dislike about this hotel!
Location
Rooms now very tired, particularly bathroom. Couldn’t park due to corporate event, no places reserved for residents, shocking.
Beautiful hotel, lovely choice for breakfast, staff friendly and clean
Excellent location on the lake with water sport and swimming option
Towels for the pool were missing in some of the days
The hotel is situated by the lake, which is great. The outside pool is pleasant.
The service was mediocre; the food and the service in the restaurant were dismal. The rooms are tired and worn down.
Location stunning right on the lake.Lovely pool area and gardens with plenty of places to sit and lots of shade.Staff were very friendly and helpful. Catered very well for gluten and dairy free guests for both breakfast and dinner.Would highly recommend the restaurant for dinner
The dinner restaurant and bar areas are nice and modern and look fresh and inviting but our bedrooms and the other communal areas and corridors desperately need a refurbishment and are quite depressing. This made us feel that we had overpaid for our stay.
great location right on the lakeside. decent breakfast with a great choice
pool and area near the like slightly busier than i would like, but not a big issue . always found a lounger although not always in the best place
Great location to visit the lake Fabulous breakfast Clean bathroom Very kind staff, especially at the reception desk and the cleaning staff.
Overrated. Not a 4 stars hotel.Old building. No lift in most area. The swimming pool and facilities need refreshment.Mountain view is rather parking view.No charm, big hotel. Lots of kids and dogs.
V friendly staff in a beautiful independently run hotel with a wonderful lakeside location. The pool area and gardens are to die for.
The location and views
The restaurant staff
Rooms were super spacious and had great view.
Staff was so ignorant and rude
Only the view is nice at this hotel
I don’t know where to start. First of all the rooms smell so bad, air vantilation system is not good at all. The food quality is super low - even a simple pasta and coffee they can’t get it right in a hotel in ITALY!! No elevator in the hotel, no gym. And behaviour of the staff is extremely arogant. Obviously bec they are working without management supervision! But the worst part is - there is no security and hotel management is awful. Our AirPods were stolen in the hotel restaurant by an employee. Despite being able to track the AirPods to the kitchen area within the hotel, the management did nothing to address the situation. After a frustrating seven-hour wait, we were finally told we could call the police. They couldn’t guide us for 7 hours as if they were waiting the thief to leave the hotel and go back to his/her place !! !!! And when we requested an incident report, the management refused to provide one. The hotel's manager refused to speak with us, preferred to hide behind a door, which is entirely unprofessional and unacceptable. On our last day, we managed to pin the airpod to a house in the area but received no assistance from the management - unfortunately we had a plane to catch and left the hotel. It was the most disappointing experience and worst hotel that we ever stayed in our life - I don’t know how this hotel as four stars !!!
The room was clean and tidy, the balcony is enough for a table and 3 persons. Beautiful view on the lake. The swimming pool and the jacuzzi are clean, accessible for free. The breakfast was delicious, can even find vegan choices! The stuff is polite and friendly.Possibly to charge your EV!
There was no air conditioning at all, 27 degrees Celsius in the room at night. When I asked how it is possible, the lady at the front desk answered, that they “changed the system” (???) , and we have to wait. Long story short, no AC during the 3 days stay. For a 4 star hotel … She told me that I can open the window for the night … cheers. The EV charging: 0.70 cts kWh at the parking, but there are other chargers 50 m away, where it is only 0.65 cts . ?
Stunning location overlooking the lake and mountain, our room was clean and spacious, the bed was comfortable. The hotel is definitely quite dated but kept quite clean so I didn’t find it to be too much of an issue. Personnel were very friendly and helpful! We didn’t use the swimming pool or any facilities so no comments on that.
It was not very pleasant to see cheap instant coffee in the room in a 4 star hotel in Italy. Food for breakfast was ok and not very varied, mostly from packed commercial stuff.
Lovely hotel located on the edge of Lake Orta. Friendly helpful staff, easy check in, ample car parking. The room we were given was probably the best room in the hotel, immediately above the boat jetty, with an uninterrupted view across the lake and surrounding villages. A very quiet and peaceful stay, with good breakfast choices and plentiful good quality food. Excellent A La Cart restaurant.
