Ankerhof Hotel

Although this is a provincial spot, Ankerhof gives all the value you would expect. It has the right location, a good product and direct connection to public transport. Rooms are well done with river view and the team has all passion to run it.Recommendable the restaurant connected.

Great location right by the river. Quiet room with river view. Ample parking outside. Friendly reception staff and easy check in. Breakfast was fine though there was not a lot of choice.

Room was on the top floor in the eaves of the building so it was hard to get into one side of the bed due to the sloping roof.

The bed was to stiff and small. However the room was very cosy. I loved it.It would have been nice to have more choice at breakfast, more different bread, better fruits, better jam. However, the staff was very polite and helpful.The location was perfect, because it was. Lose to downtown on the one hand and close to the river Saale.

Excellent location on the edge of the town centre, but only a few minutes from shops and restaurants. Very quiet. Nice restaurant with terrace next to a river. Ideal base for a few days to explore this interesting town with its excellent art gallery, Handel Museum and so fine churches.

We were told we could not borrow a kettle to make hot drinks in our room.

Parking at hotel (if it is full, there is a big paid parking next to the hotel). Very friendly staff. Authentic fachwerk atmosphere in rooms at top floor.

Breakfast has moderate choice (not a problem for me as I typicaly just need a coffee). WiFi coverage is spotty (was good near bed but dissapearing poor at desk).

The hotel looks nice and the design interesting.

My only complain is the bed and pillows. The pillow was yellow and with a strong smell to sweating...

Fairly large and pleasant rooms. Central yet quiet location. More than decent breakfast.

They shouldn't call this a 4 star hotel. It may have some facilities like training room etc., but plastic flowers on breakfast tables, outdated interiors etc. just don't give the feeling of a 4 star hotel.

I booked for my Business Partner and asked them to charge my credit card here via Booking.com. It was impossible and my Guest had to pay the Hotel himself there. Very bad service and not even a try to solve the problem.
