    Pros +

    • Nice beach
    • The resort was as advertised, it was quite remote and the thatched roof cabins large, spacious and well-maintained. There were a comfortable lounge areas near the water but water was milky with sand so no snorkeling possible.
    • The staff was very engaging and helpful. From the scuba instructors to front desk to wait staff at the restaurant. Also the food (specifically the seafood) was very fresh and well cooked. Fresh lobster is a great afternoon lunch to split with another

    Cons -

    • Yes, OVERPRICED& you have to pay for everything, but the air you breathe.
    • The only way to reach hotel is by boat, $40. Info on boat not readily available. And the cabins, at least mine, did not have hot water..
    • One of the beaches had too many rocks and corals in the swimming area - was impossible to stand on the sea floor. The second beach was better in that regard, but could still use improvement.

The property had comfortable rooms, the staff was very helpful and the beach was nice. Snorkeling tour was fun. I was positively surprised with a variety of food options offered at the restaurant.

This place is beautiful!!! You must understand it’s an island so some things are different but I can’t even explain how much this place exceeded my expectations and also delivered our dream vacation destination!!!! Also thank you to the staff! They were amazing, present and super helpful for anything we needed. Thank you!

No pool lol. But all good. Also the water pressure/hot water but totally understand the difficulty of providing those services consistently.

The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are spacious and nicely designed. The restaurant serves quality food and the staff is very friendly. On the island we did snorkelling, kayak through the mangroves and swam with plancton. All were amazing.

Amazing location, comfortable and clean rooms, beach side day beds, multiple beach options - music and no music, chilled atmosphere

More options on the restaurant menu, guarantee of a daybed if you’re a hotel guest

It was a beautiful place. The food was very good and the host was extremely friendly. It was very nice to have the shuttle to the ocean aquarium.

A little more time at the aquarium.

    The food

A hotel that caters to day pass guests who all show up at 930/10am, by the time you go to the beach all the nice cabanas are taken and many of the activities have been booked for the day pass visitors. The rooms are a bit old, it’s open floor so the bathroom has no privacy, the showers had no hot water in the hotel room. The electricity went out for a bit which also means no a/c. We tried to book our snorkel in advance but were told it had to be done at check in, by the time we arrived to the island all the snorkel times were booked by people on the day pass. Do not stay here it’s not a hotel for hotel guests it’s a hotel for day pass. Food was fine, service was slow and inattentive. Launch left so late because they were still settling bills from the day passers after everyone boarded the launch. Disorganized mess catering to day pass crowd, not hotel guests.

The Staff was great, always with a smile and full of anticipation. The beaches were kept clean. My room was comfortable.

The electricity kept cutting out, but I guess given the location it is not surprising. The surroundings were a bit scary for a single traveler.

    Private beach area, and nature

The breakfast buffet was very bad, not enough food and pricey. They didnt have the breakfast menus available either.

    9KavitaPosted on: 11-4-2024

Beautiful part of the beach that was fairly quiet throughout the day

The seaview room we paid for was facing the sea but you couldn't quite see it from the room we had

We travelled with our 3 year old and 6 year old kids, and absolutely loved (almost) everything about the hotel and its surroundings. The atmosphere is serene and relaxing. The two beaches are very beautiful and clean. There are small stones and corals in the bottom of the ocean. So for those who are sensitive to this, I recommend bringing swimming shoes. We choose to spend most time at the beach without music. The beach with music stops playing at 3pm. So the evenings are peaceful. Both beaches have a bar and personnel serving drinks. The hotel offers massage and I definitely recommend trying at least one treatment. The massage therapist has really good techniques. We tried snorkeling and going to the aquarium close by. Everything is easy to arrange with onsite staff. One thing we liked was that the personnel is really friendly and makes you feel taken care of. They circulate the surroundings and when interacting they are always friendly and check in on you.

Unfortunately our minibar fridge, toilet and air condition did not work in our first room. After telling the receptionist one time, we thought the problems would be fixed. After asking twice staff arrived to check the problem. The fridge was replaced the very same day. But the toilet and air condition continued not working. After spending two nights sweating and not being able to sleep, I spoke to the manager and we finally got to change rooms. I felt as our complaints weren’t taken serious from the beginning. But after changing rooms we were happy again. And the service from then on lifted the whole experience.

The location is amazing. Comfortable beds. Most of the staff was super kind

Very small beach. We had lots of cockroaches in our room (I understand this is an island and is nature but still…. I dont like having them around while I sleep) The food was terrible. Most of the things we ate had a particular and unpleasant taste. We complaint several times to the staff and nothing was done on the grounds that nobody else was complaining (we were several adults in the group having the same issue). This is a real problem when you don’t have a lot of choices around to eat. Very unpleasant experience and a deal breaker for never coming back.

A true tropical venue with sea and sand and lush vegetation. A walk through a part of the island to board a kayak for a paddle along narrow corridors of a mangrove waterway was a highlight

Bathroom privacy does not exist. There is no door or any visual shield of any sort that offers privacy for showering or toilet and this is compounded by a wall to wall bathroom mirror that gives one a view into the bathroom from the bedroom. There is one viewing spot offering restful solitude and reflection. Only one along a coastline of at least 200 metres. So easy to add more without destroying the natural flora and fauna.

Beautiful island, the views are spectacular and the tour options are fantastic. We did the bioluminescent plankton tour and a trip to the Oceanarium, and both were phenomenal. The staff was truly wonderful, they were kind, courteous and always ready to help!

It’s definitely dated and in dire need of love and care, the rooms are nice but linens are stained and mattresses soiled. It really prevented us from enjoying our stay fully. The beaches were pretty but quite dirty, with trash floating everywhere. It’s also quite rocky, which made it tough to enjoy with kids, they definitely needed water shoes to walk into the water. The food is also lacking, not very well prepared or flavorful. Breakfast wasn’t great, the selection was limited even for things like fruit (which Colombia is known for) and, surprisingly, no arepas or local fare. The expectations were high, we were disappointed and felt that what is offered didn’t match what we paid.

Really beautiful hotel at the beach. Loved the views and the food. The staff were all really nice. The beaches are small but there's plenty of day beds, and the day visitors are only around for a few hours. We enjoyed hearing about the conservation efforts going on, hopefully they're successful!

    Location

Our room was damp! There was a portable electric dehumidifier running in the room when we arrived which we emptied twice during our one night stay and still everything was humid in the room. Highly overrated and overpriced!

The island location was just heavenly! Beautiful

Hidden costs at checkout. From 4-6:30 pm they shut off the generator to conserve. This was not announced so you couldn’t plan your time. They have day trips that come out from 9-3 and take the chairs. Hotel guests seem like second priority.
