Pros +
- Hospitality of the staff!
- The location was scenic and beautiful on the bay. The breakfast buffet was very good. The lunch at the Tiki restaurant was also solid. Dinner at Mokoko was not great and also over priced. The rooms were nice except it didn't make a ton of sense to have the sitting room unairconditioned given the extreme heat midday. It reduced the overall size of the usable room space. The coffee tasting was super fun and informative. We loved that. The staff was good not great. We came here after the Springs in Arenal, and there the staff went out of their way to give so much hospitality. Checking in outside is a little rough mid-day with the extreme heat. The resort fees are quite high. The gym was so-so. The view wasn't good, and the equipment was lacking. It is odd that the adults only pool is the central pool. It was constantly dirty with leaves, though I do think they tried to clean it. The sunscreen and bugspray for guests to use is such a nice touch, but it was often out and not replenished. Service at the restaurants (esp Mokoko) was slow at times).
- We come every year and it’s always as good as the first time.
Cons -
- Hard to balance air conditioning

- It has beautiful grounds. Well kept and great location. The beach is very quiet no big waves so if looking for surf it’s not the hotel-location for it unless you are ok going to adjacent beach locations.

Friendly staff
Stange room layout. Very loud ac could not sleep well. Long pool very hot. Breakfast fruit all pre packaged in cups with Saran Wrap.
We didn’t make it to breakfast sadly but it looked great.
The spa is overpriced I think for what it is. I went with my partner for a couples massage and to spend time and the facilities were completely separate, the deep tissue massage was also not great.
A disgrace for any other hotel carrying 5 stars
Beautiful architecture with a splash of food poisoning, a desperate quest for warm water and front-row-seats at the Olympics of unfriendlinessLet’s start at the beginning: They started the check-in by reading us the list of possible offences and the respective fines. The display of mistrust was followed by 20-minute-long procedure. When I interrupted asking if I could please just have the keys as I was not feeling very well and go to the room, he continued his endless speech. An intake to a prison with a life sentence seemed like a smother process at this point. Once in our room I wanted to take a shower – too bad there was no warm water. We mentioned this at the front desk (as we were not the only ones) – no reaction, no change, no apology. Most of us then had dinner at the restaurant – which resulted in three people having food poisoning. Again, something I mentioned at front desk. The reaction: A grunt. No apology, no follow-up questions to find out what might have caused multiple guests to be sick. The whole experience was accompanied by unfriendly, inattentive and what seemed untrained staff. At some point it became a sport of who was first able to get the attention of staff and be served. A game we mostly lost.Simply said, this hotel is a disgrace for any other house carrying 5 stars. 5-star hospitality is a form of art. A place where every experience is seamless, every member of the staff is part of beautiful choreography of services that interlock. You can find beautiful places everywhere, but it is the staff and their level of service that sets a 5-star property apart. I can hardly blame only the staff for all the things that went wrong as there is a general manager who obviously fails to train his team properly. If a GM does not have any respect for the art of hospitality, they should give their position to someone who will take pride in delivering a 5-star experience.
nothing really - only it’s nicely done the beach front area
staff unfriendly, exeperience is bad like a highway hotel. first room was looking over the parking lot. rooms are not nice at all - with a strange separation door. much too expensive for what it offers.
Unfortunately I became too ill to travel and when I communicated and provided medical documentation, the staff/manager disregarded my situation and still charged me! I understand business policies, but I believe that policy should not supercede people. With the raise in viruses and being conscientious of public health, leniency would have been a better option. Even if a cancellation fee had to be charged, it should never be the full amount in verifiable situations.
The beach and hotel very nice and the service excellent
The room had no view
Great staff, great location, clean rooms, calm happy environment where nothing is too much trouble
The noise from the building work!! Tarnished our stay if I’m honest. Hoped work would stop over the weekend but it continued even on a Sunday
The property is beautiful, and the staff is very helpful and friendly. They encourage you to speak Spanish but are very low-key about it. It is right on the pacific warm ocean and you can hop between the pool and the ocean.
My only complaint is we wished they had more Costa Rican food. They have a seafood restaurant and a Mediterranean restaurant. Both the food was a little overworked. We wish they had more authentic Costa Rican and casual restaurants. We did greatly appreciate the kids menu.
Breakfast was great, great variety with a lot to choose from, location was great as well with a view of the pool and the beach beyond
The service at the restaurants and bar was very good. Internet also very good.
The sand of the beach is dark and not nice. The landscape is beautifullbut the beach in fornt of the hotel is not good. It was disappoiting. The surrounds of the hotel was not very clean an mantainnace not good.
location and staff were 10/10. Great service
Not having any unisex hot tubs
The food was fabulous, delicious, and artfully prepared, there was a vegetarian vegan menu, and the desserts was amazing. The staff was so gracious and giving and friendly. Loved seeing monkeys from the hotel room. Enjoyed the many pools. One of the pools was of normal width yet super long, really fun to do long laps in. Enjoyed the fitness center.
very generous and modern rooms. friendly staff
limited in terms of restaurant and eating out opportunities. new building used as party locationwhich can be loud. clothes left by swimming pool was lost by staff. tours not well organised
The hotel is located on the beach of Playa Panama. SUPs or kayaks can be borrowed free of charge at the hotel. We paddled quite a distance in a kayak. It was cool.Bicycles can also be borrowed from the hotel. The hotel room is spacious, comfortable beds, nice minimalist design. On the territory of the hotel you can often meet lizards, iguanas, squirrels. And on the beach we saw the king.Enjoyed the live music on Friday and Saturday nights in the hotel restaurant.Delicious food in both restaurants, varied buffet breakfast. The staff is friendly.
Strongly bitten by mosquitoes and midges on the street in the evenings. The floor in the room was always cold, and the hotel did not provide slippers.
Great location very good staff super clean well maintained professional atmosphere relaxing great Beach very good food great bars
No heated jacuzzi the available extras and amenities too expensive too many hidden charges expensive meals a little overpriced the whole price of the 3 night stay I believe overpriced I've stayed in nicer places or as nice for lease $150 less per night and no hidden charges
The rooms were amazing and included turn-down service where they gave you a different dessert every night. The front desk is super helpful with organizing tours, and the aqua sports center in the hotel was a fantastic bonus. Although the prices were a bit high for some of the aqua center's activities, the service from their employees was exceptional. They have a cute little shop on site as well where you can get essentials and do a little shopping. Breakfast was really good, you could either have the buffet or ala carte. I stuck with ala carte and it was delicious. OH- and the DRINKS! The bartenders here are fantastic, they will make you anything. I still fondly remember the passionfruit dacquiris. There are also tons of lizards on the property and if you wake up early and walk on the beach you can see the small vultures picking at coconuts.
There was a lot of staff in training so the service was not the best at times. There were also a lot of kids, which I didn't expect. However, they had their own kids' pool which was nice. The food was good, and the fancier restaurant there was just okay. The beach was public, which I also didn't expect. It ended up being nice because there were great vendors on the public beach, but it made it almost impossible to sunbathe on the beach itself.
The bed was super soft, the room was luxe and quiet, the pool was lovely with a very chill vibe
The beach out front isn't great for swimming and it was a bit expensive for the experience - we paid over 500 per night which just seemed like a lot.
