    Pros +

    • The view was amazing, the staff was so kind and helpful, we got in late and they ordered us food and waited up until we got inside. Breakfast was amazing in the morning.
    • A very peaceful place with excellent view to the valley
    • The property was beautiful! Loved my balcony especially in the morning with a cup of coffee! And the coffee….take a bag home from a small producer. The breakfasts in the morning were excellent….very fresh! And everyone was friendly and helpful. This place was great. I will say you will need to have a car…it is out in the country. About 15 minutes to Grecia and other sites are not that far away!

    Cons -

    • The pool was closed, but I hope they fixed it soon so we could go back and enjoy it
    • It is very remote although this did add to the peacefulness of the hotel! The bed was very firm!
    • The lighting in the room was not good. Only one of the three overhead bulbs was working, and we never did figure out how to turn on the satellite TV - not sure if the battery. to the remote was dead, or what. I didn't ask Javier about these things; if I had, I'm sure he would have dealt with them.

Lovely peaceful oasis just 45 minutes from San Jose airport so it’s the perfect stop either at the beginning or end of a trip. The lodge had a little patio which was so lovely to sit out and watch the sunset. It’s very remote and we visited during Holy Week so all the restaurants were closed in the evenings which was a shame but there were lots of activities to do during the day. Breakfast was lovely!

Javier was very helpful, responsive. The bed was fine. The breakfast was very good, and the breakfast area was very serene and comfy.

The breakfast was enjoyable, and the surroundings were beautiful. We appreciated the private and secure parking. With a limited number of cabins, the site felt peaceful and uncrowded.

The cabins were more rustic and worn than expected. We had hot water in the sink but not in the shower. When reported, staff attempted to address it but initially suggested it wasn’t an issue for others. Unfortunately, the problem wasn’t fully resolved. Basic maintenance checks should prevent these situations, as it left us feeling uncomfortable.

The property was beautiful and well maintained.

There were ants in the kitchen but not sure that could have been helped with the location

    10SusanPosted on: 2-23-2025

Javier, at the front desk and at breakfast, was so very friendly and helpful. The grounds were beautiful. Loved having a coffee pot in the room so that we could sit outside and enjoy the beginning of the day while sipping coffee. Also very much enjoyed the fresh fruit with a freshly-cooked breakfast.

    Can’t think of anything.

We started our vacation at Hotel Mango Valley and everything was great! The view from the balcony was amazing, the garden area with pool really nice and the breakfast was good, too :) It was located a little outside of our route but definitely worth it.

Everything was perfect! The view was amazing. People are super friendly and they serve the most delicious coffee!

Beautiful location with hummingbirds and lovely breakfast

It’s a bit hard to get too so definitely need a car and to know where you are going

    9LindaPosted on: 2-6-2025

It’s secluded in the mountains with beautiful views. The cabins are cozy and comfortable. The staff is very friendly.

It is a bit remote so be ok to uber/taxi or take the bus if no rental car

    8WardPosted on: 2-2-2025

The gardens were beautiful. Javiaer was very helpful. Good breakfast included. We moved after the first night into one of the units with a porch. This made a huge difference. We loved sitting on the porch overlooking the pool. If you are staying more than one night, the rooms with a porch are highly recommended as the other 4 have nowhere to sit inside except the bed.

We don’t realize just how small the cabin would be. The cabins with a porch in the back were much better! There was nowhere within a 15 minute drive to eat, except on the weekend. It was at least a 20 minute drive to most anywhere we wanted to go.

Stunning location with amazing views. The staff are very helpful and friendly. I've stayed here many times and always love coming back!

By far the best accommodation experienced in Costa Rica. The location is beautiful, the breakfast with coffee is delicious, rooms are spacious and the view is amazing. Staff is very nice.

Not a good meal, the taste can improve. Cold coffee

It needed more lighting in the cabin

    9BartoszPosted on: 1-4-2025

Location is very picturesque, its simple and basic ,but overall comfortable enough, family run business with personal attention to details

It may need some maintenance, to bring back the look like the pictures. But nothing major

    10AnnaPosted on: 12-31-2024

Very nice hotel with an amazing view. Even with later arrival the host was very helpful to accommodate our arrival time. Very nice breakfast included

    9JamesPosted on: 12-17-2024

We stayed here with a plan to visit poas volcano. The host Javier was really helpful with everything, including assessing that the weather was too bad for the volcano and finding us a great plan B. We were 4 people staying in 2 nice cabins in a great location, where entertainment is provided by the Montezuma birds and hummingbirds in the mornings, and there is a great view over a valley of coffee plantation.

The pool area is not the same as in the picture, but we were there in bad weather at the end of the wet season and repairs were in progress.

    6KathleenPosted on: 12-14-2024

Javier was wonderful. Our cottage had a beautiful view and everything we needed.

The facilities seem to be lacking maintenance, the pool is dilapidated, the walls are very thin and it’s noisy and the beds are very hard!
