Pros +
- Overall I really liked this hotel. The location is good - walking distance from Emmen station or there's also a bus stop right outside. The staff are very friendly, the decor of the hotel is really nice and I had had all the amenities I needed (comfy bed, good shower, reliable Wifi). I also thought the breakfast had a really good selection and was reasonably priced as hotel breakfasts go.
- It was a good size, well-designed and comfortable. We were a family of 3 and could move around easily. It was over the road from the Lidl Grocery shop and close to the bus stops. We walked to town from the Hotel. A beautiful setting.
- The restaurant offers a decent selection of foods and drinks. The personnel is agreeable.
Cons -
- My only criticism is that there didn't seem to be a way to change the room temperature (unless I missed something), and with it being October it was quite cold in the room - meaning I ended up wearing a long-sleeve t-shirt and socks to bed. I only stayed one night but this probably would've been a bigger irritation for a longer stay.
- It did not have a kettle to make some coffee or tea. Breakfast was not included, and the Rand/Euro is hectic, so we could not eat at the hotel.
- The room floor wasn’t very clean. There was a stain on the bed sheets. One of the towels in the bathroom smelled bad. The room had the smell of closed spaces and a little bit of mould.

Hotel is ver colorfull outside as wel as inside. Cozy, clean and nice rooms with huge bathtub.
All was good ?
The breakfast was nicely done. The common areas are well-furnished and clean. The desk staff is friendly. The room was good.
My room faced the highway. Traffic was very noisy, especially the motorcycles. My room window was brightly lit by a spotlight. The curtains were effective blocking the light. The traffic disappeared around 8pm.
Good location, friendly staff. I really liked that there is a recreation area outside, if you live on the first floor. On the upper floors there is a balcony.
The bed was a little uncomfortable, but overall I liked everything.
Conveniently located at a short distance from the railway station. shops nearby (a Lidl just across the street), coffee shops, restaurants. The room was of a decent size, easily accomodating 3 people. The overhead bed is a great feature. Selection of pillows available on request. The restaurant was very nice, a bit pricey. Breakfast buffet suits many preferences.
Bathroom could have been cleaned better (found hair in the sink) but not a major setback.
Restaurant and garden area were very beautiful
Room smelled like smoke and price difference on a Saturday to Sunday compared to a Sunday to Monday were almost double prices.. doesn’t feel fair
Hotel was nice and clean, bus stop outside, every member of staff was so friendly.
The staff from the hotel is very friendly and they offer you all the informations that you need. They have a good restaurant, very popular among the locals.
1. If you are traveling by car from another country and you want to charge the baterry of your hybrid/electric car, you have no chance at the charging point from the hotel parking zone. From the hotel staff I found that the charging point belongs to a company, and not to the hotel, and they cannot give you a possibility to charge your car battery if you don`t have a specific card issued by the comany that own that charging point. I`ve tried to use the app of the charging company whit no succes (there is no possibility to pay the charging of the car battery if you don`t have the specific card/number issued by the company). So, if you want to charge the car battery, try on other public parking zone.2. During the night some guests had a noisiy quarrel on the corridor from the first floor, near to my room.
The room was clean and modern. I was even given prior warning that during my stay and event was on in their function room, but likely I would not be bothered by the noise. I wasn't bothered by the noise. The location is very good for using the facilities in Emmen town centre. All within walking distance. The bar/terrace was very good and the breakfast selection was also very good.
The gym could be more modern and have some a slightly better selection for some of the training equipment. Having a smart TV which you can use your apps on would be a good idea as this is now a standard feature in other hotels.
The location was brilliant and all the artwork around was wonderful
The shower was not very strong and the beds a little uncomfortable
Location and friendly staff
Breakfast choices
The front desk staff were friendly and helpful.
The bathtub/shower design was awkward and potentially unsafe. We were very disappointed at dinner. We did not expect mediocre food and pretentious service.
Helpful staff, no problems signing in.
The room was a bit hot at night
The staff were friendly.Free parking space.Hotel is nice and clean.Good breakfast.
The family room for 4 adults was too small. It suits well for 2 adults and 2 little kids (<14)
Ease of check in , considering we were early arriving, the rooms were excellent as were the staff nothing was to much trouble to make our stay enjoyable, the breakfast you could not fault along with the excellent food in the restaurant, looking forward to staying again ,
Great service and nice people at the bar, amazing food!
Local tourist taxes not included and asked for during the checkout, sad
The restaurant and outside seating facilities were very nice , the staff were very helpful , a 15 minute walk into the city centre to find some lovely cafes and bars .
The room for the money we paid was no better than a Uk travel lodge , very basic , no fridge , 2 single beds . No safe .
The location is good, easy accessible with public transport and the beds were comfortable. Unfortunately, these are the only positive experiences my family and I have of this hotel.
The rooms are very noisy, you can hear footsteps from your neighbours. When your neighbours enter or access their room, you can hear the doors slamming. The worse of the noisiness is that the noise from the traffic can be heard very clearly. Furthermore, the halls are in need of renovation and the bathroom as well. Last but not least, we have reported our experience at the checkout but the receptionist was very defensive with her arguments. We got the impression that our complaints were not taken seriously.
