    • Beautiful modern clean great breakfast and location

    Cons -

    • The room is not for couples. I felt like I was in a summer. And staying in the dorm
    • The staff had personality of a frozen, wet rag. The guy who checked us in tried to get us to pay for the stay again at check in. Location is not very close to the airport.
    • When we arrived @ 2am the doors were locked and nobody was at reception. We had to ring the emergency number to get in. We received no message beforehand to tell us this would be the case.

The staff in the hotel was helpful. Breakfast was standard for this price and quite good.

There was some dust on the toilet heater — it obviously needs cleaning.

Location , and the staff were so friendly and helpful

    The bed was really bad

    7ValentinaPosted on: 1-20-2026

The hotel and the breakfast were nice, everything was clean. Nice the concept of accessibility.

It's not ideal for young couples. They could reserve rooms with regular beds or advertise it more clearly. Despite being a double bed, there is a gap between the mattresses in the middle and it's not very comfortable. It feels like a hospital bed.

Friendly staff....nice and clean room with comfortable bed...really nice breakfast...

The room was big and had comfy clean beds. Loved the breakfast buffet. Simple but good. Good vfm for the area.

Minor issues for our 1-night stay. The shower is built in a way that allows water to get to the bathroom floor. Our bathroom had no window to allow the humidity to air out. Also our room had a door connecting it with the next room. They were locked, but some noise was getting through from the neighbors.

Staff kind and helpfulNice modern room.Excellent breakfast buffetWalking distance to town centre.

When we left and wanted to fill up the tank we noticed we could only turn right and straight on the town exit road. Fortunately we didn't take the car to go to the town center the day before.

The room was very well equipped with coffee machine, hair dryer, tv, and very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was rich with healthy options. The personnel was very helpful.

Nothing. But, it is located in a green and quite area outside the city center. It only takes 10 minutes to the center by tram which is nearby. If you need a a central location this is good to know.

Room size was ok, hotel reasonably clean, parking is available although not for free, breakfast was ok.

Where do I start... When we arrived there was no soap to wash hands in a room, reception made me explain why I needed it when there is a perfectly good washing up liquid in a shower before actually giving me a bar of soap that should have been there in the first place. This was done in a manner that felt like interrogation with very little friendliness. The room itself whilst ok space wise was a designer exercise in most useless design features. The sink in the bathroom was too small but with full size tap that was sticking out almost out side of the sink making it impossible to use without splashing water everywhere. The more useful sink for some odd reason was in the room outside of the bathroom making it very inconvenient for family members to use. Bathroom door is made of matte glass which may be looking cool from design prospective but facing the room makes it impossible to use discreetly during the night without waking everyone up with the massive lit rectangle. The rrom does not have an air con and gets very hot even in mild autumn days. And when it is hot, the designer bed lights made up with tungsten halogen lamps with deep metal reflectors makes you feel like sauna in a few minutes when turning them on (needless to say the rest of the lights are LED). Sockets are randomly placed with locations next to entry doors and awkward places that again betray weird design intent with no real use purpouse. Beds wer uncomfortably hard.Basically we were glad when our stay was over.

easy to find location, free parking outside. hotel was clean & spacious & modern feeling throughout. we were extremely happy with our spacious room & balcony with table & chairs. Bathroom was large. All nicely furnished & decorated. Very good breakfast in a lovely restaurant - well staffed. Long walk to the city centre - but do-able. Residential area made it feel calm & safe. Would definitely recommend & be happy to stay again.

The first day was very noisy outside with traffic noise from the Main road & regular aeroplanes. Second day was much quieter & no planes!Cooling fan was rattly/noisy. Bathroom light should have had an auto sensor but that didn't seem to work - didn't matter to us

The room is restrained. Nothing special, except for the little balcony, which comes with a small table, and two chairs. I liked sitting outside in the evening. The location is okay, close to a bus/tram stop. (2 minutes walking). I found the nearby restaurants to be mostly delivery oriented. What I came up with, was the "Stahlberg Klause", about 10 minutes walking, simple, but friendly, and obviously well liked by the locals.Don't misunderstand the word restrained here. Everything, you need, is there. Beginning with the WIFI, over the bottle of water on the house. bathroom not new, but definitely uptodate. Nothing exceptional, but also (and, more importantly), nothing to rant about.A word on the reception: I felt slightly irritated, without getting a real cause. Later on, I noticed that he was sitting in a wheel chair, which is why he never stoot up to welcome me. Perfectly alright, if you know the reason. In summary: Good value for a low price tag.

Nothing. To me, it was really quite alright. Would be glad to come again, if I were in the area once more.

Breakfast was great as were the staff.

Unfriendly and unhelpful reception staff, no air con

Myself and my companion are both disabled, using a rollator and cane respectively, and I was really excited to discover this hotel whilst looking for accessible accomodation in Mainz. At the time of booking there were no fully accessible rooms available, but I requested a chair that we could use in the shower and the hotel promptly responded to confirm. Not only this, but a week before travelling I received a message to let us know an accessible room had become available and we'd been moved there free of charge! As a result, we were able to stay in a room with a fully accessible shower and toilet, wide doors and enough space to move around in that I did not need to fold up my rollator at all.The hotel was a wonderful environment to be in as a disabled person; for once, I felt that the building I was in had been designed with me in mind. Seeing disabled staff and hotel guests as well as posters and events campaigning for accessibility heightened this feeling.Facilities at the hotel covered all of our needs, staff were friendly and helpful (e.g. carrying an ironing board up to the room), and the breakfast was delicious - especially the range of breads and pastries! We also had the dilemma of a very early arrival before check-in and a very late pick-up after checking out, a gap of 4-6 hours' time. We were able to leave our luggage at reception to collect later, which was a huge help!Thank you to all of the staff at Hotel INNdependence for all of your help to create a barrier-free stay for us

Ironically, the sensor in the ground/KG floor accessible toilet was motion activated but placed quite high up on the wall. I visited this toilet during breakfast and was waving my arms around every 40 seconds when the lights turned off - but I had to stretch up quite high to trigger the sensor! This was only a minor issue (and a very silly mental image), and did not affect my positive experience of the hotel as a whole.

Staff were very pleasant and helpfull. The room was large and comfortable. Great pillows. Excellent breakfast.

    10TomPosted on: 4-27-2025

We experienced extremely friendly staff, enjoyed the spacious room + parking at a moderate price and on top we had a locked cubicle for our bikes. Breakfast offered everything you could ask for at this price. The location in the 'Oberstadt' is splendid as it is a bit away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre, but still within walking distance.

    8JeffreyPosted on: 3-20-2025

Room was great and the staff even went above and beyond by providing a bottle of sekt (precoordinated) in the room over ice. Everything seemed clean, and the breakfast was exactly what you would expect from any German hotel. Cold cuts and cheese slices, coffee, juice, fruit, and powdered eggs.

The television in our room would NOT turn off no matter what we did. We turned it on inadvertently by bumping the remote and then it all went downhill. The remote would not turn the television back off, even with new batteries. The power button on the side did not work properly. To make it all worse, the television was in a spinning metal mount and made it nearly impossible to even unplug it. Took us over an hour, with tools, to finally get it unplugged.

I there will be the chance I will for sure stay again: the room was large and very clean. The breakfast is lovely and abundant. Parking is available, both guarded and free. The hotel is located at walking distance from the city centre.

The welcome at the reception could be improved.
