- My room was small, simple, no luxury at all. The hotel is quite far from the city center but it is mirrored in the price. There is a Penny just 5 minutes from the hotel which is open Mo-Sa 6-22h. There is Döner and a Greek Restaurant in walking distance.I think, it is a good value for money and ideal for short stay.
Cons -
- It's not that l didn't like it ,you just need to be aware that if you are a tourist it is far from the center but very close to the 2001 or 2007 busline that takes you to the train station.
- We had booked a room at “Hotel Schwedenkrone” for one night for a family wedding celebration. The hotel’s page informed us that check in is open from 2pm to 9pm in a private message with booking.com chat and that we should get in contact on the day we arrive to receive a PIN code for a key box to get our room key. On the day we we messaged at 3.30pm to let the hotel know about our arrival and to get the PIN code. However, the hotel did not respond to our messages. At the entrance was a paper sign with a landline and mobile number but both were answered by voicemail. At 5pm we decided to leave without having been able to get into our room since we had a wedding celebration to go to. All evening I tried getting hold of someone but with no success. At 10pm I decided to book a last minute room at another hotel in Stade at my own expense. The next morning I finally got a response from the hotel on what’s app that said we should have contacted them before 3pm and hence it is our fault that we didn’t get into the room as booked. It is not only in contradiction to all the information that we received before, it is also incredulous how a hotel business can treat its paying customers like this. They did offer to refund the original price of the booking but after all I would never book here again
- Distance to Altstadt Stade. No tea facility in the room. Vendingmachine available.
