Campanile Arras - Saint-Nicolas

Usual campanile. Good location for travel, adequate room, excellent breakfast.

The location was a bit out of the way if you haven’t got transport

I was due to arrive later than, last check in but I messaged ahead and the manager was going to arrange for out of hours check in, staff were polite and very helpful.

Room was not so clean traces of oil/liquid on the nightstand, cup's in the bathroom where with a hairpin and hair. (Used cups)

The staff were brilliant, William in particular. He helped immensely and nothing was too much for him.

Only after I had booked and paid my non-returnable fee to Booking. Com was I informed that there would be no restaurant available on a Saturday night. This is not acceptable and was a huge inconvenience to me and my family.

Disappointing.

The first room offered was round the back off a dark path. The second, a disabled room, had a toilet that had not been properly cleaned. Despite what the web-site said, the restaurant was closed, with no text to forewarn us.

Friendly reception, breakfast was good with a reasonable choice.

There are no restaurant facilities on a Sunday night Bar closed at 7pm, which was not great as we could not spend time with our friends relaxing together as the bedrooms were quite small so could not entertain in them.

There was nothing I liked about this hotel it needs management to visit and sort things out

It was very hot and humid and they had NO fans or AC. It was a brutal night!

Good to have a little outside space in which to sit. The bed was large and the shower water was really hot. Free wi fi , easy to connect but I could only connect one device at a time

The outside area was poorly maintained and needed a lot of attention. The room was a bit small. The hotel was difficult to find and the its location next to machinery loan premises was not ideal. We did not know the restaurant was closed until after the booking was complete.

I was travelling in the motorway and need to rest, 5 minutes from the motorway…free car park, restaurant ,early breakfast,room very clean and tidy! Staff very friendly! No noise from traffic!

Room was clean enough. Restaurant good. The motel was easy to find.

This Campanile was a disappointment. In the past although basic I have found campanilies to be acceptable. This building is very tired and run down with loose metal edging on concrete steps. Flaking paint. My friend unfortunately fell down the spiral stairs unable to save himself as the hand rail had not been repaired properly and the top wood panel was insecure. A repair had obviously been previously attempted on the stairs and although a screw had been put through the wood it was too narrow for the hole and not secured with bolt on the other end so just swang away from his hand as he tried to save himself from falling. He landed on a rockery just missing his head on a sharp boulder. Luckily it was just the last few steps he fell from as could have been a lot worse.

Clean, very comfy beds, powerful shower and very good value.

Room infested by midges - some dead some alive and biting

The location was great

We had a twin room and only 1 towel, not very clean and after booking a non refundable booking was advised restaurant was shut via email. The bar was also shut when we got there and it was a Saturday evening.

Staff are lovey, polite and helpful. Clean rooms, basic but comfortable. Pillows are deep and extras are available without asking.Plenty of parking with 4 electric car charge points if needed.Buffet appetiser hors doevres and buffet breakfast are tasty, plentiful and varied. Main course of steak less so. A restaurant on site is helpful or you would need to travel into nearby Arras. Location is close to the motorway and to Calais crossings (just over an hour). It is near a busy road and although we could hear the traffic it wasn't intrusive. Location is in an industrial area but we saw and heard no activity whilst there (Friday).

The main reception is fairly up to date but the exterior of the accommodation buildings is shabby and in need of decorating and repair. Some parts are dangerous. Ripped carpet on exterior corridor is a trip hazard, some broken and damaged boarding on the 1st floor veranda fencing could easily give way.

Was Quiet with plenty of parking. Not too far from calais.

No 24hr service or vending machine.

Didn’t have breakfast. Location was in an industrial area but well situated for motorway access. No shops or alternative eating facilities within easy walking distance but Arras centre within 5 minutes by car. Room very small but beds comfortable and clean. Private bathroom good and clean. Free internet. Nice bar facilities and did meals if required. Overall good value for money

Exterior wooden areas, including doors had paint peeling and gave a bad impression.
