    • Not great

    Cons -

    • Nothing st all
    • Couldn’t sleep as something was banging constantly on the roof all night.I had to leave at 4:00am in morning to catch the Shuttle at Calais so when came downstairs, the front door to hotel was locked and I couldn’t get out! There was nobody at reception so it took a good 10-15 mins after ringing the bell, calling the emergency number (no reply) and then having to shout a few times before the man appeared - not great. What happens if someone can’t sleep and wants to go out for a walk, cigarette? Not to mention the fire risk if the hotel is locked and no-one can get out in the event of a fire!Very poor

The location was ok, and the rooms were fairly clean, staff was really helpful and agreed to shorten our stay even though we booked for a longer period of time.

The fact that the pictures advertised are really deceiving, there was no room to unpack 2 suitcases, it was stated as a twin beds, but they were almost one into each other. Lift was 2 people maximum. Really tight hallways, and it was really expensive considering what it had to offer. I've cancelled after one night.

It is close to the centre of Douai and thus ticks that box. It is also in a pleasant and quiet square. Our room costs £98 a night which is cheap by today's standards. This was during the rugby World Cup when most hotels were profiteering by charging exorbitant prices of 2-4 times true cost, so that was a plus point and was why I chose this hotel over others.

It is ghastly. Tired, old, broken down and that unique sort of apparent dirtiness in all the public places which probably is not dirt but is down to everything falling apart, carpets being old and frayed, paint scratched and chipped etc. The room was tiny: one had to get round the beds by walking sideways. The bathroom was miniscule, The shower fixture was broken so one had to hold the shower in one's hand. The hanging space was inadequate and the drawer space non-existent. Mould and engrained dirt in the bathroom and things falling apart and not working eg a plug stuck so water did not drain away. The beds were probably about 25 years old and the sheets and pillow cases were not changed over our 4 night stay. I could go on but you get the point, I hope. I have never written a review like this nor ever felt the need to do so. It is awful that any organisation, not least one the size of IBIS, should retain such a dump on their books. But as I said above it was only £98 a night. But only stay here if you truly cannot find anywhere else for a bed.

    Poor

Size of rooms are very small for 2 persons but staff were very nice and gave us the disable access room for extra room. A big thank you to the young lady :)Cleanliness was terrible and internet connection was sometimes poor. TV did not work well. Great staff! Nice, friendly and professional :)

    The staff very friendly

Very expensive for one night, windows don’t open, carpet was filthy. I thought it was overpriced at €90

The sanitation of the hotel is good, the surrounding area is very quiet, the location is good, and the staff are very polite

The room is too small, the facilities are too old, the breakfast is average, the price is a bit high

    8MarkPosted on: 7-12-2023

I liked the location as it was close to the town centre and it had free parking outside, so for people using it as a stop off it’s a great place to stay

Nothing, it was reasonably priced and you get what you pay for

very quiet peaceful locationclean and comfortable beds

    7GerryPosted on: 5-25-2023

The staff were all exceptional, across shifts: genuinely helpful, and motivated. The company should give them all a big bonus, because they make up for the shortcomings of the building (which is a refurbished historic property next to the old foundry works). There's ample parking in front, which felt secure.

Having seen two rooms on the top floor, they are tight on space. Bathrooms are a squeeze as well. They fail the "I'll do my morning stretches by the bed" test.

Strong smell of damp or drains quite off putting staff were very good would I go back honestly no I try to stop in various towns on the way back to the uk so I can see and experience more of France . . And I will try ani town next time

We have stayed here pre Covid this was the first time since. The hotel is a little tired and voild do with a spruce up.The is limited free parking at the front of the Hotel albeit accessvwas difficult due to a fete.It is in the centre of the town near a canal.

Handy for an overnight stop before or after crossing the channel.
