Hoban Hotel Kilkenny

Lady at reception was great, she was really friendly, efficient and very at ease as she worked.

This was the second time I stayed here because the price was very competitive.

Hotel staff were amazing, very friendly and efficient.

Spotless very nice decor, friendly staff and good food

Very little

We should of stayed at the Holban that was in town. Long way away from activities.

Bartender was grouchy.

Well laid out with solid amenities. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable on the area.

NA

The location was fine and there was good parking. The rooms were clean and the breakfast was good.

The beds were very substandard and very uncomfortable. The rooms were very warm. The bar made us drinks that were not good.

Too expensive for this standard hotel. Far out of town, not walking distance to town. Need to get taxis.

Super comfortable, clean, and good breakfast

Far from town, and there were conflicting directions from booking

Very clean and spacious room. Great Wi-Fi. Super quiet location. Breakfast was very good, although not many vegan options available like most places. I did, however, very much appreciate the alternative milk option, the fruit and the wheatabix cereal.

The mattress felt a bit hard on my hips after a while.

It was able to accommodate 8 of us easily. The rooms were spacious and modern.

I wished it was closer into town so we didn’t have to drive in everyday. But, that was my mistake for not understanding the location.

Location was good, staff were friendly, and if you didn’t want to drive into town, the restaurant served good food.

Great restaurant for both dinner and an excellentBreakfast. Clean hotel with good service, hospitality and plenty of staff.

Nothing to report. We were able to lower the room temperature so relieved for this!

Breakfast was okay

The shower could not set a temperature. The floor tiles were broken and the grout was moldy. There were no wash cloths provided. We had to have the maintenance come in to fix the smell of sewer gas and they had to return twice to fix other silly issues. We were refunded some money which was good but they are clearly not up to inspecting rooms before having guests stay

Staff were very positive and attentive. Clean and comfortable.

Location wasn't ideal for sightseeing - required driving into town.

While there was no ac and someone smoked in our room prior to our stay, the staff was very thoughtful and attentive to our needs and doing what they could to resolve. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. Great Breakfast.

No AC, small window for fresh air, smoke smell in room, far from town.

Restaurant on premises is great to have, staff members — Chris, Savio, Donal and Regen were super helpful doing whatever they could to make our stay pleasant. We were able to check in early which was a big help.

Good location of the hotel, the room was spacious for 3 people, the bed was comfortable. Shower was very powerful.

The room was above the bar, we needed to call reception at 12 pm to let them know we can’t sleep. They reacted quickly though and moved people from the outside in.

Very clean and decent location. Not far from city center. Breakfast was included and was good. Has a bar onsite.

Very overpriced. No air conditioning in the rooms. Very hot. Window opens slightly to get some air but lots of noise due to proximity of the mall.

The room we were given was right outside the main entrance and this is were everyone talked all night - 11 pm, 12 am, 3 am, etc. Additionally this were everyone smoked although the ashtray was no where near our window. They rude and I found the check in associate gave incorrect information - time for breakfast was wrong and the fact that our room was none smoking and would be affected by smoking. Which as a lie. He knew nothing about the hotel.

Clean, refurbished, onsite parking included

Location from the center of town further than advertised. 30-35 minute walk and fir the price not the best value
