You're literally in the middle of the jungle, so that has its benefits and drawbacks. The rooms were enormous but otherwise the amenities were mediocre. This place should charge twice as much and be an all-inclusive.

We visited during the rainy season, so most things weren't even open. The buffet was overpriced ($28pp) but the alternative is bar food (we actually went into town and bought our own groceries for one meal). It's a little old/dingy.

Great location at Canal and Chagres river

I had 4 items that did not work in my room, from coffee maker to shower door. The response from one member of mgmt was not even a shrug..

    Location and views

Shower was dirty old and moldy. Other customers room service was not picked up for the two days we were there. Every time we would walk by more insects would be over the food. It was bad. Limited eating options.

It overlooks the beautiful river.. Nice breakfast and large rooms. If you want to hike and see lots of birds and animals it is a great place. Use this as your wind down from a busy vacation at the beaches or city. our desk, angel the bellman great.

Front desk staff has great need of customer service training and help. Won't acknowledge when u walk up. Needs training. In other areas. Restaurant needs to pour water for every guest quickly. Hot climate means hot guests. Don't wait Or forget

    Incredible views and fun excursions!

Check in was smooth. Location is great for birding.

You play up videos of Aracaris feeding at your on site feeding location: however, the location is terrible for photos and the feeding schedule is so unpredictable that it was a joke thinking you actually did it. Wildlife and especially birds are active from sunrise until shortly before 9:00 in the morning and again from around 5:00 p.m. to sunset. Leaf blowing nearly every day during these hours was scaring away nearly everything. If you want to keep attracting birdwatchers, then give them quiet during these key hours. OF all the places I stayed in Panama in three weeks, yours was the most expensive and your food quality did not match your high prices. If you want to improve your food quality, send someone to the Radisson Panama Canal or the Mount Totumas lodge for what food quality should be. I would never give you a five star rating because you are not a five star hotel except in outside looks perhaps.

It was very relaxing, clean, and a beautiful facility

It was very difficult to get in touch with the personnel prior to the arrival date to get some questions answered. They were not very responsive to phones, texts, or emails. Once at the facilities, the staff was very helpful. wish the meals would've been included in the price.

Everything! The tours were fun and informative, the food was too good for its own good, I ate too much. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, the beds were dreamy, the shower was like a warm cloud burst. The grounds were like a manicured rain forest, cause they are. I would never recommend visiting Panama without a night in this magnificent place.

The pool was huge and surrounded by a tropical garden. It lacked a deeper end but I guess that was so parents would be less worried about their kids. I don't know why but it closed kinda early and so did the swim up bar, bummer.

Really loved the nature and atmosphere!

It was built a long time ago, but has been maintained through the years. The natural beauty of the rainforest, along with the service and food, were fantastic! We saw so much wildlife, and my group had a wonderful time!

Food very good. Staff were lovely. Clean, comfortable. Lots to do. Great birding all around the area.

The walls were very thin, so noisy neighbors were a problem.

This is a one of a kind hotel, in the middle of the rainforest. Amazing view with birds singing on the balcony! Close to Panama City! Nature walks nearby. We very much enjoyed staying here.

Gastronomic options could be much upgraded.

Staff was nice. Room was clean. Tours were OK. Pool was nice.

Room had musty smell. Humidifier had to be emptied by guest. Bed was uncomfortable and beyond useful life. Shower doors didn't work properly. Notified maintenance by email and received response that they have an ongoing quality check of their accommodations yet no one came to make repairs. Check in staff focused on selling meal and tour packages yet made no mention of a la carte menus. Not a good value. I think one would be better off staying in a hotel in Panama City and commute to the reserve.

Dinner was pricey and not many options. Some Room amenities was not functional example, air condition, shower door, privacy curtains.

More food options, microwave in the room, special price for tours for hotel guests, have a phone in the room, kids activities, have a schedule available for activities and amenities for hotel guest.

    8RoderickPosted on: 12-29-2025

Staff was friendly and helpful. The location was great location and there was a variety of on-site activities. The pool area was nice although the bar closed a bit early.

Buffet food was very average with several items overcooked or dried out.

    5BettinaPosted on: 12-29-2025

Breakfast and dinner was very good, size of the room and the cleanliness was very good, the pool was clean and big.

Tours limited to Gamboa owned attractions, pool area and parts of property not well kept, room advertised as having a stocked mini kitchen which was not the case, amenities on property (tennis courts, rental bikes, kayaks, volleyball court, hiking trails) not available or not advertised.
