Paid for a room but didn't get it, no refund yet

Paid the room on Booking.com 67.20€ googlepay when I got to the hotel, and they said they didn't receive any payment, but 67.20€ were taken from my card to HOTEL AT BOOKING.COM the staff said they could proceed with the check in cause they didn't receive the money, I ended up paying for another room, I realy hope I can have my Refund of thos 67.20€ cause it's a lot of money, staff said I should file a complaint on booking.com untill kow no refund was given

Great location, outside the emission-zone, so it was perfect for staying a night during our travel through germany.

We didn't use the self check-in, instead we went to the reception - staff seemed angry about it.Overall it was clean-ish, just don't look at the various bug-remains on the walls :)

Functional room with good beds, perfect for a one night stay where the expectation is not high as regards the standard. Location just fine for our purpose.

Very awkward experience at the reception with receptionist doubting our payment and wanting to charge second time, only fine once we had insisted to have paid. Said it’s a consistent issue with travelers using booking.com for reserving and paying a room. Had the feeling we might be charged again and constantly checking accounts for potbential second debit. He also had difficulties communicating with us in German.

Their self check-in system at their entrance when there is no receptionist or the receptionist comes late as he did before I figured it out that I can self check in.

You leave your room to go purchase some stuff for personal use before you officially check out for the day and the door locks until you pay even when you paid for room use and reuse before the advertised check-out time lapses. Besides that, I got a cheaper place later when I left that same day which also offered a buffet breakfast as part of the room cost. Some staff were cold, mean with information and disinterested.

Location was ideal for us as a base to branch off to other areas within Germany . The young gentleman we had check us in was extremely helpful and friendly.

Had to bring our own duvet and pillows into the room, as when we arrived we pulled back the blanket to see clear visible blood marks on sheets , pulled the quilt off the top bunk to find it a yellow colour instead of the white it was supposed to be. Bathroom could of done with a good bleaching .

The room was clean, it had all the facilities I needed/expected.The staff was friendly and serviceminded, I gotthe information about the hoten an thesurrounding town that I requested.The breakfast had all the ingredients that I enjoyed for a perfect next day on the trip ‘on the road’.

The room is nice and there's plenty of space. Wifi works well and the parking lot is right next to the hotel building. Perfectly adequate for a short stay.

They usually get construction crews and other short term guests in this hotel so every morning the cleaning crew kicks everybody out of their rooms, even if they've booked more than one night. You'll have to show up to the reception and present documents that you're actually staying more than one night. They will knock and open your door several hours in advance of the checkout time to make sure you're up and packing your stuff and out of the room in time.Employee smoking area behind the hotel was right under the window and someone was seemingly chainsmoking there all day every day so the smell in the room was definitely noticeable.

I have been to this hotel many times and I have left many reviews already. I can only repeat myself: the location is excellent, the prices of the rooms are really good, hygiene is just fine, shower is good, free monitored parking, friendly staff and privacy is guaranteed. It has a one star indication but in my opinion deserves more. One of the few places also which does not have soft beds in which one drowns but nice hard mattresses which I personally like. Absolutely value for money.

Efficient

Getting charged an extra £90 for each of yhe 5 rooms that we had and staff saying that £90 is city tax. Very very disappointed with the extra charges on the check in computer amounting to £450 in total and staff on the phone was totally unhelpful.

Exceptional

Meant to have a separate bed as stated with a baby less then 1 year old, and we had a room with an overhead single bed over the double

Smoking outside the front entry with doors open permeates the whole hotel.

Arrived at the hotel after midnight and had to deal with a broken self check-in kiosk! Simply cannot get the screen to work hence cannot login. Called the Staff on the emergency Hotline was helpful but he cannot find a solution for me

Outdated facility that desperately need an upgrade

It all depends on what one expects but if one just requires a clean and quiet room with a toilet and a shower in reasonably safe surroundings with free parking, then this is an excellent location. Most of it is of course very basic but definitely better and worth more than the one or two stars that they have. Anonimity and privacy are guaranteed. Showers are very good and I personally like the harder mattrasses. Lots of free and relatively safe parking places. A gas station is just up the road and several supermarkets are about 2 KM downhill while the centre of Wuppertal is approximately 6 KM away. The hanging tram, the Schwebebahn, is located (last station) at the bottom of the hill. A bus stops almost in front. Rooms at the back of the building are more quiet than those in front. An excellent location to explore the Sauerland in the directions of both Winterberg (nature) and Cologne/Köln towards the Rhine river. Tips for eating and drinking: Restaurant Hohe Bracht, Lennestadt / Wuppertaler Brauhaus / Landgasthof Dhünnthal, Kürten. Have been here several times before, will definitely come back.

I was after a item and the staff were very helpful.Breakfast was excellent.I like the simple things in life and this was a good clean and honest place to stay and everything worked.
