Sellmann´s Boutique Hotel

Location- custom service- staff at the reception

Room service : I asked for room service to make up theroom and clean it in the morning, I tipped the lady with €10. when I came back in the evening the trash bin bag was not changed and it was full of toilet papers. The shower gel that I used it was empty and not changed.Also the shampoo bottle. the small kit of cotton tige and cotton pad not replaced with new one as I used the one provided the first night.

It’s a design interior with beautiful photography art, very comfortable rooms and spacious common areas. Gym has aerobic machines and free weights! There is a sauna also. Breakfast was superb! Outside there is nice area with shops and restaurants, and cross the street there is an access to the lake. I took a run around the lake - it was 2.5 miles and really wonderful! These is more restaurants around the lake. There are 2 grocery stores within a short walk from the hotel. The place has limited parking spots in the front, but then there’s a a lot in 100 meters.We really enjoyed our stay ?

Every aspect of the facility met or exceeded our expectation EXCEPT that Room 001 (which is located in the basement) was very dark, and for some reason, too warm. The room itself was quite, very nice, but needs either much better lighting or a lighter wall paint given its location. Breakfast, housekeeping, room comfort, and hotel location were great. Recommend.

Room lighting and warm temperature. The AC control didn't seem to function at all. We requested a portable AC fan, which was promptly delivered.

It was great overall ... Clean, functional, had everything.

3 issues ranging from big to small, lots of door noises from neighbors, toilet in separate room from sink, only check-in machine accepting credit cards so impossible to pay cash.

I liked the location, the facilities, the cleanliness, arrangement, and aesthetics of the room.

The automatic check-in was not very clear, I think some instructions telling how and where to place the RFID key would be very helpful. I stayed during a very warm day and there is no AC so I didn't sleep very well because of the warmth.

I don't like the self check-in and the bat hub in the middle of the room , there was also no climatization in the room and no elevator

Nothing, no elevator , but it has only 3 floors.

Small , quiet , wonderful place in the centre of Dortmund

it was clean, modern and the breakfast buffet fantastic.

The bath/sink in the small bedroom was simply strange. I did have a bath and enjoyed it. The layout was just a bit too dis-jointed.

Nothing I can fault

Looks super nice with the dark walls and lights. Nice ambiance. Extremely clean. Very comfortable bed. Fluffy towels. Nice tub and shower. Great Minibar. Parking nearby with an electric charger.

There was no staff waiting for reception. It was not possible to book breakfast or pay in advance though booking. There could be more options for cold cuts like ham for example. The orange juice could be fresh. Maybe some pancakes? Only one rug for both the tub and the shower. There could be more space for luggage (2 adults and a toddler made the room feel cramped)

Just wonderful

This hotel exceded our expectations in any aspect. It used to be a traditional Rure house converted into a small hotel. We booked a family room that turned out to be a loft, very specious and charming. The rooms and the bathroom were impacable. The beds, linens and lightning in the rooms are cozy and comfy. There are a lot of sunshine coming into the rooms. U can make a coffee in the room or have a tea.The overall impression is 10/10.

Attractively and smartly designed interior, cozy into every little corner! Feels like home. Perfect German breakfast.

The bed/matress could be better to make it a full “10”!

Exceeded all expectations. Massive room with another private room attached. So both of us had our own separate room. Beds extremely comfortable. Wet room shower was excellent. Mini fridge fully stocked.

- Access to public transport from the hotel is great- Comfortable bed- Complementary snacks are always welcome

- Staffless: It was a staffless boutique hotel, so we could only check in after 3 p.m. and found ourselves sitting on the hotel's stairs with all our luggage. - Small room: I am a petite person and found the room cramped. I specifically asked for a room without a bath but was given one anyway, so I was stuck with a massive bath in the middle of our tiny room. - Tiny toilet: Again I am petite, but my knees touched the wall when sitting on the toilet. I can't imagine how someone over 5'5 would manage in this tiny space.- Lack of basic (essential) amenities: We only stayed for 1 night but were given half a roll of toilet paper, and there was ONE tissue in our tissue box. And because it is a staffless hotel, we could ask anyone for more amenities, especially at 11.30 pm at night. My husband did take this up with a staff member the next day, but he couldn't help us.- Noise: There is a church opposite the hotel, and we were woken up at 7 a.m. by church bells - but this is expected in Germany.We spent a little more money but were highly disappointed by our experience at this boutique hotel.

Central and clean accommodation in a nice boutique hotel. Very friendly staff and courteous service

Nice room, well decorated and comfy bed. even had a full size bath at the end of the bed. staff were friendly and helpful.

the room is far too small to have a full size bath at the end of the bed. chique but ridiculous. parking is limited at certain times of day, and was awoken first by the church bells directly opposite at 7am and then a stream of delivery vehicles outside the window for the next hour. I'd rather have had the room in the picture.

The room was great, beautifully decorate and sober. The bed was very comfortable. The "bathroom" was clean. We appreciated the complimentary food and beverages provided in the fridge. The hotel was quiet and the staff friendly. I'd recommend the place and would definitely come back. Thank you.

The shower is straight in the bedroom which doesn't give any privacy. There were not that many parking spots and they were really narrow.
