Drostdy Hotel

Dinner had an option of a wonderful set menu, with choices for each of three courses and served with paired wine to accompany the delicious food.

The Rooms are really good , spacious and clean and the bathrooms were great. Breakfast was excellent and the service for breakfast was very good.

Booking in was a bit of a challenge as the lady at reception couldn't seem to find our room but eventually did . We went to have dinner in the restaurant, we were seated at a table and after about 15 minutes no one had come to serve us so we got up and left and went to a local restaurant instead . The aircon in the room kept turning off and we called the maintenance and he fixed that and did they say they are talking about upgrading the airconditioners as they do give problems

The hotel is very lovely, the rooms are amazing, clean and decorated with good taste. The service was very good and the food delicious. The breaksfat is definitely worth it! And we’ve loved the gym and the spa.

The room was beautifully decorated and the hotel gardens are very well kept

The shower was probably the worst shower I've experienced and certainly not what you would expect from a luxury Hotel

The food is to die for! Rooms beautiful and the garden out of this world.

Our Aircon stopped working and we had to move to another room as my wife couldn’t sleep without the Aircon. This occurred at 1am and the night staff were quick to assist

Location and experience

The-bar was left unattended without any staff to serve sundowners. I had to go search for staff to assist. Maintenance is lacking with bath tubes running empty, hair dryer without a proper power socket and aircon not cooling!

Dinner and breakfast were really outstanding.Heated bathroom floor was great. Dining room and bar areas were superb.

Room was a bit small.

We stay there often because it breaks our long journey in half

The restaurant staff are very helpful and friendly

Staff, room comfort, cleanliness and breakfast. The fact that the staff are mainly graduate tourism interns is a credit to the management for offering these opportunities. Although under training their performance was very good.

Dinner was cosy and delicious, the rooms are comfortable and loved the spacious bathroom. The pool area is great to relax at.

Service needs work: during breakfast we were served our drinks after our breakfast was served and during lunch when we asked for another coke we were just brought a can- expect more from a facility such as the Drostdy hotel . At 17:00 while we were in our room someone wanted to come to a turn down which did not make sense.Prices on menu for drinks and what they charge is also different.

Beautiful spacious room, friendly service, delicious affordable food, beautiful courtyard and swimming pool. A great stay

We had an excellent experience at Drostdy, not only is the venue beautiful, the staff went out of their way to accommodate us at short notice. Definitely a firm favourite!

Staff are friendly and attentative. Decor is beautiful and relaxing. food is good. An oasis in the Karroo.

I would have liked covered parking for my car during the hot sunny day

Breakfast was great, nice bar. In house gallery where I purchased 2 very nice small bronze animal sculptures.Very nice property
