Pros +
- Everything!!! The grounds, staff, spa, etc are all fabulous!!
- General ambiance
- This hotel was the most beautiful place I could imagine, located at the foot of Table Mountain, a 9-acre garden lovingly maintained by a local team, with forestry and lush surrounds in pretty Constantia. The history and buildings were fascinating and awe inspiring, the service was top line and gracious and the cuisine was superb. We met a traveler from London who comes back to this glorious paradise every year (for the past 30 years), and we could truly understand why!
Cons -
- Not that I can think of.
- Untrained poor staff in restaurants
- While the cuisine was exceptionally good value for money, this is an expensive establishment.

Everything was very fine; the reception team, the room, the restaurant staff and the food, the exceptional breakfast, the gardens...we can not complaint about anything along our three days stay. For sure, a place to return and to recommend.
The rooms are excellent, and the garden is magnificent. Staff, both in the hotel and the restaurant, are professional and attentive.
No lifts, just stairs. Not much is suitable for elderly people.
Everything! Beautiful property…gardens were exceptional. Conservatory restaurant offered delicious food & garden setting. Excellent service everywhere. Shuttle very handy to Kirstenbosch, local shopping center, & waterfront.
Well, where to start? This was one of the most memorable travel experiences I’ve ever had. What might seem like just a hotel truly felt like a second home. From start to finish, the staff made me feel completely at ease, more like a guest in a home than in a hotel. The premises and gardens are beautifully maintained, and the Conservatory Restaurant is spectacular for every meal: breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The proper turndown service and all the little touches make it the perfect place to relax and escape the crowdedness of the city. They have award winning gardens and it is mesmerizing to wander around every morning to relax. This place has already claimed its role as a true second home and I’m genuinely grateful to every staff member for delivering such quality and warmth. Truly amazing.
Staff was incredibly kind, warm and responsive. The property itself is just beautiful and this area of Constantia is exceptionally picturesque. Easy to get around to various sites from here. Really just a fantastic place!
No negatives from us!
Beautiful hotel and gardens, very serene. Staff were really helpful during our stay. Left us a lovely note and cake as was our honeymoon.
Had lots of difficulty with staff while trying to get a 1 hour early check in. Eventually was helped at 9pm the night before, but made for a stressful and frustrating experience.
We loved every second- from the minute we arrived until the minute to drove out, it was brilliaht! We thought the reception staff were fantastic, the decor and setting just exquisite, the massage - the best we've ever had, and the most decadent breakfast ever. Our room was beautifully appointed and very comfortable.
It's hard to fault this beautiful hotel but if I had to note something they could improve on it would be the restaurant staff. The manager was attentive but there seemed to be a shortage of waiters.
Service was so lovely and welcoming even after a break of 2 years! Special call out to Ethan and Quiet who are truly fabulous- discreet, professional but wonderfully warm and friendly with a lovely sense of humour. Beda are magnificently comfortable and the hotel is a real sanctuary tucked in a quiet corner of the spectacular area of Constantia. Spa equally superb. Wonderful service but make sure you book in advance; it gets busy!
Very nice place, with high standards.
For Medical reasons I booked our room on ground flour. But, ended up on second floor. Which was not ideal. And, whilst most staff are professional and friendly some did however have, a no care or could are little attitude.
The room had a spectacular view, was spacious and the mini-bar was a much-needed added bonus. I will definitely visit again if I have the chance. Would recommend to family and friends.
The room was located on a high floor and with elderly parents accompanying us on our trip, we had to climb many flights of stairs in order to get to and from our rooms every day.
Beautiful hotel and rooms, nice service and super tasty food at the restaurant.
Everything about the hotel was perfect - from the initial welcome at reception, to the managers always making a point of circulating and talking to all guests. The food was superb, ambience amazing and our room was delightful.Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and they were most accommodating to all of our requests.
Whilst they do offer chilled water, the only thing I could possibly suggest would be to offer some form of drinks/food service whilst sitting by the pools.
Ambience, peacefulness. A new found germ for my future travel escapes
Location, cleanliness good food and helpful staff and management
This hotel is an absolute gem! From the moment you arrive, you're greeted with stunning views that take your breath away, complemented by beautifully maintained gardens that provide a tranquil escape. The staff are nothing short of amazing—attentive, warm, and truly make you feel at home. The cleanliness is impeccable, leaving no room for complaints. Every aspect of the stay was flawless, making this hotel a top-tier choice for anyone seeking a memorable and luxurious experience.
Breakfast was excellent. Staff was super helpful. The grounds of the hotel were beautiful. Overall we enjoyed our stay here!
There was an issue with the shower head, but they fixed it after a couple days. The were slow to replace certain towels.
Amazing hotel in Constantia! We stayed here for four days and wished we could have stayed for longer. It truly is an exceptional hotel set on the most scenic and beautiful of grounds. Everything about the hotel is fantastic: the grounds, the staff, the food, everything. I genuinely cannot fault it.
The gardens
Generally speaking the property is tired . Compensated by the gardens .Sadly when my valuable engagement ring went missing from the room whilst I was at the spa although initially the management were very helpful and called the police the ownership reaction was shocking . It seems our experience is not unique , after 7 or 8 previous visits we will not be returning.
