Play super super clean, staff was very friendly

Getting rooms right next to the reception area is less recommended. In the morning it is a little bit loud.

We stayed with our 2 dogs during new year, very good option as almost no fireworks

Location, staff at reception were very kind and professional, nice restaurant/bar

Not enough parking for people with reduced mobility; was a bit difficult to grab the attention of the staff working the bar in the evening.(but could be due to the tasks they had to complete)

Breakfast and dinner in the restaurant was excellent . “Linda” was a fantastic help. She worked in the restaurant and was the only person who helped us with our keycards not working. Pretty Xmas decorations. Lady who checked us out was lovely and helpful. Nice location.

Dirty cups and plates always left in reception area for hours. Empty wine and champagne bottles left next to guest lift till after 14:00. Open condom wrappers left outside next to emergency exit door. Chairs inside bedroom had big stains on them. General attitude of staff was horrible except for a few very helpful people. Paraplegic toilet was dirty and smelt of urine. Very disorganised, our room keys got cancelled the following day and a lady from the restaurant was the only person who helped us. The one and only “very old” lift kept getting stuck which made us all very nervous.

The breakfasts were delicious, the selection was extensive and of good quality. We also used the dog-friendly restaurant, which is an added bonus. The dinners were very good. The pub is located one floor below where you can play board games, darts, and billiards. The sauna is small but cozy. The rooms are nice and cozy. The staff is very friendly.

Cleanliness. The cleaning ladies need to be more diligent. Unfortunately, we encountered system glitches and had to go to reception every time to ask for the room door to be opened. This was very tiring – a major drawback.

The family room was massive. Beds were comfortable.

Location. Need a car or use public transport to explore further. However we needed it for closeness to the sports hall so it was good for us as a family.

It was comfortable, elegant, and beautiful surrounding!

I would like more details in the room, like paper tissues, a bit more products in the fridge..

The room was super spacious and had nice, big windows looking into a green garden. The bathroom was big and featured both a bathtub and a separate shower cabin, which I always value. The best part of the room was the Nespresso machine. For me, a must for every hotel room

Quality and great service runs all the way through this hotel. Large car park with wide spaces. Friendly reception staff. Nicely decorated bar and restaurant. Quick service at the bar. Restaurant had good views, nice tables and very good food and wine. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole stay. Rooms were clean, tidy and well presented. The scent in the room was so nice - I mentioned it at reception, who advised I could purchase some if I would like to - so I did! (Just my experience and preference).

This hotel is absolutely brilliant, I loved the bath, comfy bed, quality linen, and the brekfast was very very nice.Big thanks to the staff, young lady with blonde hair and gentleman with erm less hair were really friendly, helpful and gave great information about bus routes and local area.Next time I'll stay a little longer in this beautiful area of the Netherlands.

Having to go to work 8am!! I'd loved to use leisure facilities, maybe next time!!

Comfortable rooms. Excellent food and friendly staff. Have stayed in a Van der Valk Hotel before and it lived up to expectations.

Furniture in room looked old and needed a deep.cles. The chairs had stains.

The hotel is very conveniently located close to the Papendal congress center, which makes it a good landing spot for business trips. The surrounding forest is great and connection to public transport from Arnhem is super. The rooms are OK clean, although there was quite some layer of dust on the TV/shelfs. The bed was too soft and not comfy. The douche/bathroom was nice and specious, and the assortment of personal care products is always a treat at Van der Valk.
