Pros +
- The location is fantastic and the price was good. The room was also very clean. Fast wifi and simple, but practical furniture. For one night here and there it is ok, but I wouldn't recommend it for a longer stay
- The hotel is located in the historic center of Bern, within walking distance of shops, cafes, and major sights. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was of good quality.
- Excellent, friendly staff. Room was clean and quiet. Breakfast selection was good. Location central, very close to historic sites. Even though hotel did not have its own parking, large garage was nearby and very convenient.
Cons -
- Unfortunately, there were a couple of things that were not ideal. First, there was a lot of noise from a guest in the room above me. Every step could be heard. The floor is squeaking and it seems like the floor between rooms is very thin. It was very bothering, especially since the guest above me got up at 5am and walked around a lot (I stayed in this hotel one time before and last time, I did not have this type of issue so this might not be the same in the whole building). My second criticism is regarding the breakfast. Given the price, I didn't expect a great breakfast, but it was still underwhelming. When I arrived for breakfast, half the tables were full of dirty dishes and no one bothered to tidy up. Also, no one bothered to bring new bread when the bread was gone, the fruit salad bowl was empty, the bottles with the fruit juices were sticky and one of them was empty and not refilled. The whole time when I was there, no one bothered to fill up any of the things they ran out of. The croissants were the worst croissants I have ever had. Either it was about half a week old or it must have come from a freezer. They were hard and clearly not fresh. You can get an infinitely better croissant at any super market or even if you bake up frozen croissants.Third issue: The bedsheets and towels were visibly old. They were clean, but both the duvet cover as well as the pillowcase had some holes in it. The shower towel also had a small hole. Personally, this is the condition where I would have already replaced them at home...
- The room was somewhat old-fashioned, and the towels were a bit worn out. Nothing too bad, though.
- Unfortunately we stayed when Bern was experiencing heat wave. The room does not have A/C, which made it a bit less comfortable in the evening. Nevertheless, our room was not so hot, perhaps because it was not on the top level.

Good location - breakfast was ok. The room had a good size, but the bathroom is on the smaller side.
Good breakfast. Central location. Old -fashioned classic hotel in the center of Bern.
Location, and the very helpful and friendly staff both at reception and in the restaurant.
It is an old building, nice looking but walls are a little thin. Can hear your neighbors. Despite this I would still recommend it!
The staff was very friendly, the breakfast was more than enough, and the location couldn’t be better!
Location was great as was the breakfast!
Our bathroom had a moldy shower
The location was outstanding. Easy access from the train station. Building was very nice from the outside. Clean room. Friendly and responsive staff and good coffee for the breakfast. Good hot water and pressure for the shower. Free wi-fi. Ok on cost, but we almost felt like it was the best room in a hostel.
Room had no amenities - very little usable storage. Bed for a couple was 2 twin (US size) mattresses pushed together without a mattress pad over the seam where the two came together. Not comfortable or good for a couple. Bathroom was tiny. It was one of those pre-fab units that they stick in old buildings- all colored glass walls and had large glass slider (7' x 7' )that opened to the room. If used at night, the entire room was flooded with light and you can hear everything going on. The neighborhood was very loud into the late night/early morning on weekends.
Beautiful central location in this beautiful city. Great breakfast, staff were lovely
The bears were hibernating, not the hotels fault
breakfast is great, enough for us to start the day. location is wonderful, walking distance to many great places. many bars nearby. room is spacious for the three of us.
wish there is a refrigerator /minibar in the room.
Perfect location in the old town. Facilities are new and it is very clean. Staff was very friendly. Very quiet.
Room is pretty small.
Space very tight, bathroom sink so small, water easily spilled out. Doesn’t even have a cordless kettle and the wired kettle was so poorly designed- when water boiled, water spread out the opening easily on the table. No coffee maker, only instant coffee bags.
Convenient to get essential places
We like the location, the staff and breakfast included.
The carpets in the hallway need cleaning/upgrade. The location is good but the noises come through very early.
Location was great and employees were friendly and welcoming
Room was super, super small. Could not walk past the end of the bed without shoulders hitting into the TV on the wall.
The rooms were very good, just a little street noise from the bars/restaurants below (but earplugs were thoughtfully provided!). Breakfast was substantial, lots of choices, and excellent coffee. Great central location, easy access to buses and the train (and the famous clock).
Street noise, but that comes with a central location.
Location good for old town Bern
Room very small and I was confused with booking for two people. No air and room on third floor overlooked a very loud street scene until two AM.
Great location - clean room with comfortable bed.
Room was quite warm
The location was excellent. In the middle of the oldtown and close to the main attractions
The bathroom was terrible. Our room had a handicap accesible bathroom, but the issue is that the shower lacked proper curtains for water retention, so everytime you took a shower all the bathroom got wet and the floor got slippery becoming a hazard. Not good at all.
Very good situation, lots of bars around, very nice staff, nice breakfast :)
Loud in the evening and night, cheap look of the room with old furniture
