About
Set in a 15th-century building, Prinsenhof offers individually decorated rooms. It features the Prinsenhof Gardens, a renaissance-style courtyard with a landscaped rose and herb garden. The modern rooms at Prinsenhof include a seating area with a flat-screen TV. A mini-bar with complimentary drinks and snacks and an Nespresso machine are in each. Some have wooden-beamed ceilings, while others offer views of the garden or Martini Tower. A breakfast buffet can be enjoyed in the Brasserie, which is set in a former church and features stained-glass windows and opens onto a terrace. Restaurant Nassau serves fine dining specialties. The Martini Tower is less than 5 minutes’ walk from Prinsenhof. The Groninger Museum of Modern Art and Groningen Railway Station are about 20 minutes’ walk away.

- Historic, beautifully maintained. Superb location.
- Location, clean , mini bar complimentary, bikes available, friendly staff
Cons -
- My 6'6" husband did not care for the low beams on the 3rd floor. Although these do add to the charm of the hotel, they were difficult for him to avoid.
- Open shower room. Put a door!
- room was a little dark & did feel a little warm at times but not too bad since weather was cooler

The location is extraordinary, peaceful garden and grounds - very central to Groningen city square. We loved it.
Seemed difficult for taxi/cars to access. In our room, the bathroom was up a narrow staircase on a balcony. Fantastic for us - but might be a challenge for some.
Great location in the heart of Groningen. Very nice, friendly and professional staff
From my perspective the breakfast was not matching the overall experience.
We really appreciated the courtesy of the staff, the location of the hotel and the beautiful garden.
Some rooms on our floor are currently being renovated. The noise while not very loud was still disturbing.
Helpful, efficient staffEasy valet parkingGreat room decor, well supplied complimentary minibar, full set of toiletries. Coffee, tea etcGreat location
I had zero problems/complaints., .But note that there is no A/C in some rooms.
Staff, location, quality of premises
Good 4 star standard with a few boutique details that we enjoyed
Bathroom up tight stairway. A bit soulless - walkways and some spaces just a bit ordinary
Beautifully restored historical building done with taste and elegance. Very well appointed comfortable rooms and bathrooms with lovely touches such as drinks on the house replenished daily. Excellent location accessing all points of interest in the old town on foot. And superb breakfast.
Very friendly staff, the state and the facilities of the room were excellent. The floor of the room above was a little squeaky but it is a historical building after all.
The bedroom was stunning. I wish I had longer. Free mini fridge was amazing. Shower was amazing. Everything was amazing. Staff were also super friendly.
The location was very good. ‘Free’ mini bar - though the hotel was expensive
No main light in the room. Lots of lamps which had to be turned off individually. Breakfast not included in the price. City tax not included in the price.
Location, and the wonderful old style.
Bed rather soft
Great location, very nice Restorant with cozy atmosphere. Very useful and kind staff.
The rooms are very dark.
Nice and clean room. Good facilities and friendly staff. Very central location, and beautiful building.
Super beds, excellent personel
The beds, the shower, the breakfast
Friendly staff, allows pets, quality amenities and right in the center but in a quiet area
The hotel itself was pleasant and in a great location. Beautiful historic building. Loved the Brasserie restaurant on site.
While our room (#22) looked nice and was unique, it was far from practical and not ideal for two people to spend any time in together. Understandably limited due to the elements of the original building (e.g. low beams, room contours), it was small, with only one lounge chair and a closet inadequate for two. The toilet was on the same level as the bedroom but one had to climb stairs to get to the shower and bath, with a sink that was very awkward to use, chosen for aesthetics rather than functionality. The mirror was not very easy to use, and it would have been convenient to have one in the downstairs toilet room. At a lower price, these factors would not be so objectionable. We did get a look at another deluxe room as we were leaving which was far more spacious and would have been more comfortable to stay in, so perhaps it was just our room. Nonetheless, we did enjoy our stay.
Perfect location for exploring the city. Exceptional staff who are attentive, professional, friendly and accommodating. The charm, ambience, and history of the rooms and facilities/buildings. Delicious dinner experience.
