    Pros +

    • The city of Monschau and its location.
    • Room size large for Europe, good breakfast, perfect location
    • This hotel is located in a beautiful town, much nicer than we expected. Breakfast was vast, and the employees were very friendly. The rooms were very comfortable. Overall, we were delighted with our selection.

    Cons -

    • Bathroom smelled like pee, facility old but I get it for the price- good value
    • The town is not very well known, but I recommend visiting it.
    • Swimming pool closed permanently which is still not advertised while booking at the time of writing this interview. The room was very clean but there was a toothbrush that wasn't ours in the bathroom so it makes you wonder how thoroughly cleaned it actually was.The staff at the reception gives priority to phone calls instead of their own guests and it can also take a while for them to even show up there, but once they're there they are fine. The toilet started to smell after the 2nd night but we were already leaving.

Hotel is close to the bus station. It has a restaurant which is convenient since Monschau's restaurants tend to be very busy. The restaurant is very simple but the waiter is super nice and cute.

The staff were friendly. The location is great. Close to the town and super quiet. The facility is nice. The breakfast is quite large and filling.

The beds are not the most comfortable, but still nice.

This is a good quality hotel with all the bells and whisles.

I liket all of the following. The service of the staff. The space of the room. The cleanliness. Space for bicycle storage/parking and the help for cyclists.

Very nice staff, good location, good beds

Rooms need a remodel, especially the bathrooms which are outdated and low quality

    9MaurizioPosted on: 5-6-2025

The rooms were very decent and decent size, we really enjoyed the place. The breakfast was great and the varied, I do suggest people to take the breakfast with the room, it is worth it, and the staff is really friendly. The amenities such as swimming pool and sauna are great, of course it is not SPA level or water park level and neither should they be: it is a hotel for visiting, not for SPA.

I felt that having just one lift was limiting, and that sometimes it was slow to respond, so we used the stairs a lot. Also, the parking fees were quite high, at 9€ a day, when one can park next to the hotel, at the RatHaus for 3€ a day (you have to get the discount from the tourist office).

Excellent location and perfect for a solo traveler!

Parking was a problem due to non-guests filling up the spots.

Good sauna and pool. The receptionist was a real professional.

Waitress making fun of an older customer by repeating his words thinking that the customer doesn’t hear or understand. This customer may be old but he hears and understands perfectly. Please some respect to all customers.

Comfortable and conveniently located. Nice breakfast

Dinner was booked up both nights. There were nice options in the town though

Big hotel, 5 minutes from the center. Great value: cyclestorage and charging of the bikes included.

Breakfast pricy, but good bakery in town.

    clean, friendly staff, nice location

In need of a renovation. The paint is flaking off the ceiling the pool, at least two out of 6(?) pool chairs had some kind of defect, the false ceiling in the bathroom had such big gaps in between it, i could see the duct work, dent in the bathroom wall, leaky shower head, etc. Every individual item is small, but all of them together left me a little disappointed for a 4-star hotel.

Staff were friendly and very accommodating and made us feel very welcomed. Rooms were clean and comfortable.

The food and coffee could be better. Coffee wasn't hot enough and tasted too watered down.

The location is pretty good, just few minutes away from the town center. Wonderful sauna and swimming pool, very clean and everything is well arranged. The staff was very friendly and accomodating.

The pillows are very soft and only two (one per person). I like harder and higher pillows, so I didn't sleep very well. Of course, it could be provided but it was already very late. So I will advice the hotel to put an extra pillow in the cupboard or on the bed. Or request an extra pillow(s) at check-in,

Situated in a very nice area I have stayed here quite a few times with work..

Unfortunately the pool was closed and for once I booked breakfast. As the hotel was quiet the breakfast was very minimal with eggs being only hot thing no juice

Facing nature, bed quality, staff attentions and responsiveness , pool and sauna

Bedroom Lights too bright, the building is lacking a bit of charm

    8Aih-tingPosted on: 12-27-2024

The location was 5mins walk to downtown (the Christmas market). Only hotel guests are allowed to drive into Monschau during Christmas market days, so that was super convenient.

No hot water kettle. The breakfast was very bare minimum. Interior was a little old. Paid too much because of the Christmas high season.
