Prime location, sunrise at Mt Pilatus is breathtaking and was a highlight of our trip. The service was top notch, everyone was super friendly and went above and beyond.

Beautiful location high up in the mountains. The dinner that we had was exceptional one of the best meals that I’ve ever had. Dining staff was amazing also. We were able to change our booking through the help of the front desk that was very accommodating.

    It is very expensive

The Location is amazing!! The staff are kind and supportive

The price ( expensive) did not include the ticket to get from Alpenchtad( the base of the hotel) to the reception area( they did ask me at the ticket office ,if the hotel has included the ticket for me or if they gave me discount which they didn’t) .. there is no bell boy to help with luggage. The Restaurant has limited food options.

    Location , views

Dinner and breakfast was included , but they charged $10 plus for water with dinner yet it was free with breakfast, I expect if customer is paying $1k for one night to have at least water provided to them as a courtesy

Honestly from start to finish our stay was excellent! We had questions months before our trip and the staff was very helpful and quick to respond. We stayed for two nights which I would recommend to anyone. It's historical and at the top of Mt Pilatus so its the only thing up there other than trails. You can only reach the hotel via cogwheel or gondola. We took the gondola up and cogwheel down, recommend to do both. Staff is superb and they all spoiled us as they spoke English. Not only did we have breakfast but we also had a 4 course dinner included. There were several menu options, I am pescatarian but often eat vegan and I had choices. The facility is very dog friendly which we LOVED. The mountain can get crowded during the day as hikers and tourists come up to visit. Many people I spoke with didn't even know you could stay up there. When the day tourists leave for the evening it is so peaceful. I haven't spoken about the views, all I can tell you is I teared up several different times with the pure beauty that was surrounding us. We were Blessed to have two good days where we could see. Obviously there is no guarantee with weather. There are a few webcams on their site which I recommend. Not a huge hiker but I did do the Dragon Trail (not scary!), another one that is a short climb up where you can watch the sunset but it was behind clouds that day and the last one that I'm not sure of the name but may be the Flower Trail (?). I know it eventually went to the church. You do take these trails at your own risk but the views are spectacular if you are one up for that adventure. There is not place here but I did video part of my hike that I will share a link to via google photos for anyone interested or curious. Have attached a few photos that I hope will help. We have recommended to several of our friends and I will tell you what I told them....GO, just do it and stay. It is well worth it! Hike link: https://photos.app.goo.

That I didn't stay another night!!

Fantastic staying. Great view, great evening animal encounter experience, great food, great service!!! Everything is amazing!!

    I couldn’t find anything that I dislike.

The superior room was spacious with a nice big bathroom

It would be great to have some kind of entertainment or wellness option, or the chimney room could be made available for use ( it was closed when we were there)

Beautiful location, dinner was amazing. Very unique to take a gondola to your hotel- it was definitely a once in a lifetime experience.

Breakfast was disappointing (particularly after dinner was so good!). I also thought the gondola was very expensive, especially considering there is no other option to get to the hotel - feels like that should be included in the cost. So many tourists who were not staying at the hotel made the gondola right up uncomfortably crowded.

The most peaceful, beautiful place I’ve ever stayed! So impressed with the entire hotel, lovely staff, warm and comfortable room and so spacious! Delicious four course dinner and so many options for breakfast. Can’t wait to stay again!

Maybe a staff member available in the ‘kulm’ part of the hotel, rather than just when you get off the gondola. But maybe that was because of the off peak time we went.

Amazing dinner, very high quality in a cozy room with excellent service. Good breakfast. Amazing view.

    Nothing, all has been fantastic!

This hotel, perched atop Mount Pilatus, offers a truly unique and breathtaking experience. The scenery is unparalleled, and we were fortunate to enjoy sunny weather while the valley was blanketed in fog! The staff were friendly and attentive, making our stay even more enjoyable. It's the perfect retreat to escape the hustle of the city for a night. Highly recommended!

The only minor drawback is the natural limitation during winter, as walking is restricted to designated areas on Mount Pilatus.

Great locationBeautiful views and interesting experienceFresh rooms with enough spaceVery cheerful and polite reception desk

Food is really terrible, dinner and breakfast included to the price which is good, however, I agree with other reviewers about the food.Dinner: you can choose options, but all of them are strange and not tasty, I got meat, but it was very raw and hard, in general I could not eat any of the dish.Breakfast: also bit better but still not a lot of choice.

    9VoidPosted on: 12-1-2024

Very unique experience. You’re paying not just for the room but the view of the mountain as day turns to night and vice-versa, the food (noticeably better than at most Swiss hotels), and the idea of staying on a mountain for a night.

Hot water was slightly inconsistent, but this is to be expected due to the location. Otherwise if you’re hoping for something more trail / hike heavy, or really want pictures of the mountains at different angles, don’t come around November as most viewpoints / activities are closed.

The view on top of Pilatus is amazing. The breakfast and dinner are delicious, staff are friendly.

    10WeePosted on: 11-14-2024

Location is fantastic. The room was huge and views were great! Definitely worth the higher hotel rate. Breakfast was excellent and so was the quality of the dinner. Dinner was a slightly longer event but loved the food though the potato dumplings were plain and unnecessary as a side.

Maybe dinner could be a quicker affair (or make it as a faster option for those who wish to) as we were really knackered from the hikes. I also do not see why the gondola up and down for hotel guest cannot be free?

The experience surpassed all expectations. Worth the expense. A truly magnificent place. Seeing the sunrise over the snow topped mountains was so beautiful. The dinner and breakfast were very good. Service was excellent and staff friendly.
