    Pros +

    • The staff. Kurhotel Skodsbort, perhaps as a result of labor shortages in Denmark, employ a lot of young and inexperienced staff. However, they are willing and able to make this up due to their enthusiasm for looking after their guests.
    • Cozy and warm environment with good facilities
    • Beautiful property and very well maintained

    Cons -

    • No daytime spa/pool access. Room overlooking hotel rubbish dump
    • Maybe a little modernization to the rooms but otherwise very nice. The spa facilities could also be slightly modernized too
    • The one disappointment was the spa. Our booking came with restricted spa-hours starting at 6PM. That happens to also be the hour when members of the community can use their spa-membership. As a result my experience using the spa was anything but enjoyable. It was crowded, loud, and worst of all, the floors are very slippery. In general crowds were rowdy : I was enjoying the sauna when a couple of teens would crash the Sauna and talk loudly during a piped-in guided meditation setting. My impression: if you want to use the spa it is best to buy a spa-package which allows you to avoid the crowds, but it is pricey.

The location is perfect with a broad view of the sound between Denmark and Sweden. The grounds are green and well kept, the architecture of the hotel and spa are tasteful and there are ample lounge space inside with comfortable sofa nooks. The rooms are very well and thoughtfully appointed with extremely comfortable beds and spacious bathrooms. The breakfast buffet is very good. The hotel has a swimming jetty across the street with several benches on which to sunbathe. The ladders into the water are very securely arranged against slipping. In addition to swimming pleasures, there is also a lot of hiking trails in the forest surrounding the hotel, and bicycles are available. One more bonus: the s-train that links you with downtown Copenhagen is two steps away from the hotel.

I bought this stay as a gift for my sister and her boyfriend. They really enjoyed their time and had a memorable anniversary. Thank you to all the staff for making it a special one for them. I really appreciate the kind note that was left in the room. I would definitely book again!

Very clean, very good breakfast, great location

Spacious comfortable room, incredible spa that was so much larger than we expected with so many facilities, ideal for relaxing after a long walk in the stunning nearby countryside. Room service was excellent and breakfast was light and healthy. Lovely view of the sunrise over the sea from our room (102) with a spacious balcony.

It’s not possible to swap damp bathrobes for fresh ones, which seems very odd for a spa hotel and meant we have to use wet robes in the spa each day. The food at brasserie Carl was good, but overpriced compared to food in the city. Pillows could be better quality but bed very comfy.

Comfortable bed, clean, nice spa, nice breakfast

Though our stay was good, many small details were not quite perfect. There are errors in the maps and links of recommended walks around the hotel, no yogurt at breakfast, no espresso or other coffee choices at breakfast. The spa is good, but electronically operated lockers would definitely be a bonus. It took three tries to register our car for parking, as the system needed to do a reboot. None of this is very serious, but considering the price (for what is a very small room), I would expect a bit more. I think with a little more attention to detail, the hotel could deliver perfect stays.

Beautiful property, great location outside of the city. Dedicated health spa hotel with great facilities if this is the intended purpose of the stay. Good size corner room after upgrade. Stunning views and for those that enjoy a swim in the sea, easy clean access and a super hot sauna after...

Fully appreciate it is a health spa but I would have appreciated either a cut off point or a minimum dress code limiting languishing in spa bathrobes for public sitting areas or dining areas after a certain point. Evening dinner menu was quite limited.

Climate, cleanliness, precision, welcoming guests, communication with customer service

Being asked by recepctionist to pay a deposit that was not mentioned earlier. It was difficult to explain that I do not have a credit card.Short opening hours of the spa and additional catchy charges for using the spa in the morning, as a result we did not get to use this amenity (which I paid for by choosing a more expensive room).

Room was amazing, spacious and big. Spa was delightful and breakfast was alright.

    8RebeccaPosted on: 11-2-2024

Very comfortable room. Exceptionally friendly, helpful staff. Outstanding spa that includes a lap pool.

Breakfast was excellent but surprisingly few vegan options. Spa access only in the evening— should be available morning too at this price point. Nowhere walking distance to eat — limited to hotel cafe and restaurant which are nice but pricey.

Short and scenic drive from Helsingör. Close to Louisiana museum. Cosy spa with a nice inside pool area, different saunas, and a jacuzzi outside. You could also walk from the spa over the road to a private pier and have a swim in the ocean. The breakfast buffet had plenty of options.

Our room was really warm and you could only open the window a few centimetres. The bathroom door was frosted glass and had gaps all around so not much privacy. We had dinner in the restaurant and the main dishes were bland. I expected much more for the price.

    Very comfortable beds

Beautiful, elegant hotel with a superb spa. Can easily and quickly get to Copenhagen by train.

Restaurant could offer a couple more options for dinner. Standard rooms are quite small.

Nice atmosphere, stunning looking building with lovely garden around, location near the sea, and beautiful woods, room was with a nice design, new beautiful bathroom, we really enjoyed breakfast, very tasty and good quality food in lovely room overlooking garden, staff was friendly.

-It was not possible to have a bath, even bathtub was very pretty, but the water was coming out with a lot of rust small pieces, need to put small net on a sink in bathtub, and the best is to change old pipes in building, because water itself has smell as well, maybe need better filtration for it.-the smell from the shower was not pleasant, need just to put special plastic flap in order to keep the smell from the drain.-no air-condition, during the day was very hot in the room in August, but at night, it was ok with open windows.-we went to a small, hot pool, without windows, located underground with our kid, because to go to the general big pool with beautiful atmosphere and nice view was not possible with kids. Me and my husband was very disappointed about that, we couldn't use nice pool because of kids' restrictions. (I would change this rule and let kids any age to come to the general pool just between specific hours.. morning, evening, couple of hours, otherwise it's not family friendly place at this point. I wanted to do a massage, while my husband could be in a pool with my daughter, for example, but because of these restrictions, we didn't do that. Hotel needs to think about families also.. if it's not adults' only hotel). The hotel has big potential, but need to add some things what to do for kids and parents, because it's nothing to do outside of the city and families expected some small but important things in order to spend time in relax with kids as well. It was a feeling that hotel focus oriented on members who live near by and going to gym, pool, spa of hotel, not foe guests of hotel who booking rooms. In general it was a nice hotel, but it could be great.

    7HendrikPosted on: 8-3-2024

    - Large gym and fitness area. - Nice small beach area with jetty.

    - Breakfast / Service was not great. Choice was good but no service and crowded- Although a nice hotel, slightly used off in some areas, otherwise well maintained

Absolutely everything was likeable! The hotel was spotlessly clean, staff provided great service and were also very friendly yet professional. The spa included so much variety. The breakfast buffet included everything you could think of. The beach is right across the road with a lovely setup. Even rooms just 1 floor up such as mine with a courtyard view, actually include a sea view too, which was a fantastic surprise!

    I liked everything.
