Pros +
- A homely and spacious room with all essential facilities, set in a quiet environment that ensured a peaceful night’s sleep. Overall, the stay was excellent. The hotel also offers a welcoming lobby and a free self-service tea and coffee station.
- Unfortunately, there is nothing positive I can mention about this stay.
- The price and comfort were good..
Cons -
- The lighting in the bathroom and living room could be slightly improved to enhance comfort.
- We stayed at Fletcher Hotel Waalwijk from 24 to 26 December 2025 in family room no. 230. Unfortunately, the stay was very disappointing.During the first night, the room was extremely cold due to strong wind and poorly insulated, single-glazed windows. Cold air was coming in and the windows were rattling loudly all night. The temperature felt closer to 16°C, making proper sleep impossible. We had to block the windows with pillows and blankets. After this night, both my wife and our five-year-old daughter caught a cold and are still coughing. We reported the issue to reception the next morning, but no solution was provided. We were advised to contact the hotel by email regarding compensation. I sent two emails to the hotel, both of which remained unanswered one month later.Poor room conditions and a complete lack of response to a justified complaint. We cannot recommend this hotel.
- The bathroom had a rusty metal soap dish that could have been cleaned with acid. The shower was also very old. The windows were old and didn't open and close properly.

The price and comfort were good..
The bathroom had a rusty metal soap dish that could have been cleaned with acid. The shower was also very old. The windows were old and didn't open and close properly.
The hotel had an adjacent car park. They also had a restaurant which served us a good meal in the evening. The rooms had ensuite showers and toilets.
There was a cold draft from the window.
The room was spacious, as I received an upgrade because the hotel was fully booked. The staff are friendly and honest, which is a big plus. The restaurant is also very good and pleasant to spend time in, with well-trained staff.
The pricing is, to put it mildly, advertised in a rather misleading way. Everywhere it states €37.50 per person, which seemed like a reasonable off-season rate for a solo traveler. However, upon arrival the price doubled because the hotel does not offer single rooms, meaning I had to pay for two people.I did receive an upgrade as the hotel was fully booked, which is appreciated. That said, I am currently sitting in the restaurant and have been the only guest there for hours ?. The upgraded room itself is perfectly fine and comes with three single beds, which adds a slightly ironic touch.Breakfast is mentioned in emails and can supposedly be booked “somehow,” yet the price for breakfast is not stated anywhere. The booking option exists in theory, but in practice it simply does not work ?.All in all, a price should be the price — and it should be communicated clearly and fairly. The staff were honest and explained the situation transparently, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, this only highlights the poor and misleading communication around pricing, which is a significant downside.
Location was great for us as we were going to Efteling each day we stayed here, only took us 15 mins with an uber so was good that way. Very close to the bus stop which takes you straight to the park, was around a 10 minute walk. Grocery shop around 10min walk too.
We wanted a double bed and we got 2 singles pushed together. They kept separating each night. The guests beside us were very loud during the evenings and we could hear them talking, walking around and the doors banging shut. Bathroom door wouldn't shut properly, no hairdryer in the room. The room was a bit dirty eg dust in corners, under the bed was very bad like it hadn't been cleaned in a while.
Very friendly staff. Warm rooms with comfortable beds. Good Internet.
Good choice if you are travelling to Efteling, there is a bus from the park to the bus stop near the hotel, from which you will need to walk only for 4 minutes approximately. The man on reception was cool and very nice, replied to all our questions and queries.
Kinda expected a little bit more for the price paid, as inside of the room there was no kettle, no fridge, no tea or coffee. The room is not small, but has Soviet Union style ornaments, that is throwing off a little. The biggest minus is that we received a room right next to smoking area, so we heard a smelt a lot overnight. Also, we were not informed prior what room we will get, so don’t have opportunity to re-consider our options.
Great location and good size room
Old style and carpets on floor, need renovating, also no elevator
I can see why the hotel has some poor reviews. The hotel is dated and some parts are rundown. However the parts that need to be clean (bed, bathroom) were. It is also fully reflected in the low price paid, especially given that Efteling is less than 10 mins drive away. For less than 100 euros a night for a family room of 5 beds, in peak Efteling season, it was very fairly priced.
Very cozy place to stay with ample space and facilities. Kind and helpful staff.
I love this hotel so much. It is so comfortable and the local amenities are good. It is in the perfect location between Den Bosch and De Efteling, and there are nearby shops and restaurants. There were a few marks on some of the bed linens but they did not appear dirty, and I know these things as I used to be a hotel cleaner myself. The bathroom is pleasant and the staff are kind
Very close to efteling
Very dusty room, did not feel clean. not all lights worked
The location was great with supermarkets nearby meeting my dietary needs.
The hotel rooms could do with updating.
The staff is very accommodating, the shower room was very roomy, and breakfast was quite good.
The room was clean but very basic with its features (we were told its the new part of the hotel, but it looked very basic), no water cooker or coffee corner.
Big rooms with comfortable beds
Parking was a bit difficult
Very nice staff at the reception and very helpful !
Too bad the hotel got worse in time...Not clean, no amenities, old furniture, very dusty ventilators and no cleaning rounds if you stay several days
Cleanliness; professionalism and kindness of staff members; coffee :)
poor breakfast, less fresh vegetables;
Location
The room has a bad smell. The staff are not providing good service, it was very cold in the room and they refused to turn on the heat even I was pushy to do so.
Friendly staff and close to Efterling. Room was big but on 2nd floor without lift. Plenty of space for the family. The breakfast super good. Parking space with electric charger.
Room was on 2nd floor without lift.Room was warm. There was a fans you could use but one was very dusty. The water from shower was very slow. Few outlets didnt work.
