Excellent location by the river ! Everything exceeded my expectations ! I had a lot of special requests for food given health issues and the kitchen always accommodated (restaurant in house is excellent - breakfast fresh and plentiful). The sauna is also super and the staff all very dog friendly !

Great location close to the Ruhr river, very good beds, great restaurant with very good value for the money . Very nice and attentive staff.

The swimming pool is very small and a bit depressing. Better than none though. A bit noise from the road if you sleep with open windows.

Clean large hotel. The desk lady spoke English which was marvellous. We were on the top floor with a great view. There were shampoos and towels which were lovely. Breakfast was buffet style with many different foods, hot and cold. There's onsite parking. The first carpark you drove through is public and free, the hotel car park is behind the hotel through the public car park..

It was very hot being at the top. The door lock was difficult to open, I tried a few times and eventually we figured out the 'trick' to it, but honestly it shouldn't have been that hard. It's useful to know the car park is behind the hotel through the public one.

Beautiful location nearby Ruhr.

I requested for a taxi to the train station the night before, for 10 AM. The receptionist assured me it would be handled. However, when I was checking out at 10 AM, I was informed that taxis arrive every 10 minutes and I'd have to wait my turn and no taxi has been reserved for me. With my train departing at 11 AM, I fortunately managed to get a taxi at 10:20 AM, but the situation left me feeling frustrated and disappointed.

Breakfast was okay and sufficient - no specific complaints but no fireworks either. The bed and linen was one of the best during our trip - I slept very well. The balcony and the view to the Ruhr river were nice. The possibility to bring luggage up from the parking garage to the upper floors using an elevator was great. A supermarket next door.

The parking spaces in the garage were quite narrow. There was no noticeable information of the dinner opportunity at the hotel (or if there was, we did not see it). However, there was plenty of (fast-food-type) restaurants near-by, e.g. multiple pizzerias.

Location is near the central station and can be reached by feet in 10 minutes. Breakfast is ok .

Room is too crowed and not be value for money.

Garage is extremely small, we have had a problem to find a space. We were living on a firs floor so we heard a lot of noise from canteen

Fantastic view, very nice rooms, very good breakfast. Great location, easy access to a few shops, food places, pubs and restaurants.

Attitude issues from some of the staff , you can’t borrow a towel to go swimming externally. Even offered to leave a deposit ( towels are standard, nothing special). You have to pay extra for parking at the hotel, if you get a space. Through the week when weather was not up to scratch and the beergarden was shut all day, they didn’t even open the pub within the hotel. Just as well there were a lot of cheaper and friendlier places around. Might be a nice place to stay for a night or 2. Certainly not for over 5 nights. If the waitress/ breakfast manager Kerstin wasn’t there, the breakfast experience was spoiled by staff who clearly don’t like their job. Different when Kerstin was there and kept control of staff, supply and guest. A gold star for Kerstin. And last, check your mattresses. My daughter had a massive urine or whatever stain on the bottom side of the mattress. A 4 star hotel should get that at least professional cleaned. Unfortunately has the overall experience spoiled our stay and spend my hard earned money at the wrong place. 9 days 2 rooms for 2200 euro is to expensive to get treated like that.

there were lots of flies,mosquitoes and insects in my room. Next to a river it's normal,but you better watch out.

Breakfast was very good with a lot of choices. The evening dinner was good and service was good. The outdoor beer garden was nice and prices reasonable. The walk path along the river was beautiful. Parking was a reasonable price.

There was a very small bottle of water on the table with two glasses, which I assumed was complimentary like in most 4 star hotels. Instead, when asked if I took anything from the minibar, I said no, just the free bottle of water on the table. The receptionist said that was not free and was considered a minibar item and charged me for it (I couldn't read the German notification with the water). I didn't know, or I would not have drunk it since I had my own water. I was surprised a 4 star hotel would be so stingy for large expensive room with a balcony. It was not the amount that bothered me, but the principle.

Location by the river Rhur is very nice, you can go for a walk and enjoy the scenery. Rooms are modern, nice and spacious, everything is clean. Breakfast is served from 6am, which is great if you have an early check-out. A lot of food to chose from. Receptionists are very friendly and staff in restaurant as well.

Parking lot is busy in the evening, you have to park your car outside (parking is availiable, but it's from the store, so you only have 1h of allowance - but during the night is free). Considering the price guest should receive at least one bottle of water per day in the room, everything is payable.

Beautiful river view and wonderful to wake up with the birds singing in the morning. Very clean spaces and good breakfast.

We have asked several times to get the sauna warm, without success. Pity as this was one of the reasons we have chosen this hotel.

Used to hotel as a stopover on a long drive. Check in was flexible, room was quite large (std room, I think), breakfast was included and was okay. All in all, I felt value was really good for what I needed

Beautiful location along the Ruhr River with views. wonderful grounds with a bier garten, lawns with lots of tables and chairs, mini-golf and a small Children’s playground. Restaurant with garden view dining, room with balcony and river views.

Breakfast had a good choice. The room was excellent with a wonderful view towards the river, the bridge and the woodland. The room was bright and with plenty of space. The location is excellent and was convenient for us.

We were very happy with our stay.

Great hotel, nice location and clean comfortable room

Breakfast was nice, a mix of continental and English breakfast with German specials like little frikadellen. The room was spacious with a nice balcony with view on the river that floats nearby the hotel garden. The hotelgarden has a German style beer garden (Biergarten) with a bar which also can provides snacks on order. The restaurant f this hotel has a nice inside and outside are plus also a part of the garden where one can sit and dine with view on the river.

The price was a bit high, merely a 5 star hotel price for this 4 start hotel, maybe the main season was to blame.
