- Facility was modern and excellent, dining was fantastic.
- Lovely facilities with a nice spa area and very comfortable room.
- Almost everything
Cons -
- Have a shuttle to take people to the center several times a day
- The cleanliness was seriously lacking. I had to ask 3 times for the room to be vacuumed with crumbs in the middle of the room, not even in a corner. Sheets were also not changed as one would expect in a 5-star hotel. Staff promised to rectify this and to compensate but utterly failed to do so.
- One thing almost spoiled our stay. We made reservations in Marcelle. On arrival the hostess couldn’t find our reservation. Was extremely rude and suggested that I didn’t make a reservation. Very unpleasant. Later it turned out it was a mistake from the receptionist. But the restaurant was full and the hostess didn’t make any effort to solve the situation. Felt like I had to do with an angry adolescent at McDonald’s. Really unpleasant. And we were without food

Wonderful setting -luxerious and well thought throu. Beautiful park, vegetable and herb garden.
No hot water upon arrivsl but fixed within two hours.Staff very nice but a bit more training required for things to run smoothly
Friendly staffGreat spa experienceBeautiful surroundings Equipped room
The outside area is lovely. Pool and gardens and bar are absolutely brilliant. Little paraqueets to and fro in the trees. Delightful.
The rooms really aren't what you would expect from a five star establishment. So they provide a Mac. Weird! Why? Sort of nice but not really very useful. The decor is a bit bizarre - really not up to the standards of the rest of the property. No USB charging ports. Hot water that seems to come from the moon it takes so long to arrive. Breakfast at 60+ euros for two. Five floors no lifts - pity the poor baggage porter.I think this is probably a transitionary period for the property. They are building a new hotel wing which I suspect will be exactly what is required once complete. At that point who knows what will happen to these rooms. I wouldn't be surprised to find they become staff quarters.
Our stay at Domaine de Verchant was amazing! It was my boyfriend’s birthday, and the staff went above and beyond to make it truly special. Every little detail was so thoughtful, and it felt like they genuinely cared about making the day perfect for us. The reception team was incredible, and I have to give a special shoutout to Mr. Fernando—he was so friendly and welcoming, and his kindness really stood out.The SPA was absolutely gorgeous and the perfect place to relax, and the restaurant was another highlight. The food was delicious, and the whole dining experience felt so special. If you’re looking for a place that combines luxury with amazing service, Domaine de Verchant is the one. We can’t wait to go back!
The room facilities were excellent, service in restaurant very good, breakfast excellent cafe au laitBedding and bed first classIf you want to work, an Apple desktop in the dressing room.In room bar reasonable Quiet
As others have mentioned, the lights in the room take some getting used toGetting hot water in the shower was a challenge too, no directions for the hot or cold, too many knobs!Shelf above one washbasin so low that definitely for hand washing only otherwise you hit your head for example when washing teeth/face
I recently stayed at Domaine de Verchant, and it was truly one of the best experiences of my life. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the serene surroundings and the historic charm of the property. The hotel is perfectly situated just outside Montpellier, in a peaceful and quiet area, providing an ideal escape from the bustle of the city. The gardens and beautifully preserved historic buildings transport you to another century, making the entire experience magical. The mattress was absolutely heavenly – it gave me the best sleep of my life! The room was meticulously designed, combining modern comforts with timeless elegance. The staff were absolutely amazing – attentive, friendly, and genuinely dedicated to making my stay unforgettable. Their hospitality added a special touch to the entire experience. I wholeheartedly recommend visiting Domaine de Verchant. Whether you’re looking for relaxation, history, or luxury, this place has it all.
Nothing!!!
Beautiful parking But not easy to get from car park to reception dragging bags across pebbles. Would be nice to have a valet / bag drop off service maybe . Would have been really awful if it had been raining.
Just the proximity of car park to reception
Breakfast was very tasty, but not many hot options and quite expensive I thought - It's not included in the stay so you have to pay extra for it each morning, but the pastries, bread and juice options were all of good quality as well as the meats and cheeses, and the staff were wonderful!
Nothing! The staff were so accommodating and friendly, the grounds and hotel itself are beautiful and the restaurants and food were amazing! My friend and I did the champagne tasting and we had a fantastic time, followed by the spa!The only downside was that the pool pictured on the photos was emptied when I visited so was un-usable which was a shame, but the infinity pool by the restaurant that overlooks the vineyard is much nicer!
The property is beautiful however it is currently undergoing a massive expansion and therefore there is construction on site.
As mentioned earlier, the property is undergoing an expansion. Two of the restaurants were closed. The remaining restaurant was fully booked during our visit. It was raining outside and we requested room service to be served to us in the bar. They said no. You would think at a five star hotel, the answer would always be. Of course we can accommodate you. I have stayed at other locations of this brand and they have always been extremely accommodating. Very underwhelmed at this location.
Lovely property and spacious grounds overlooking vines. Room had a very modern feel with spacious accommodation and en-suite. Nice outdoor patio with table and sun loungers. Helpful ground staff helping with luggage to room (which is needed as the car park is not very close to rooms). Complimentary wine was a nice gesture.Good variety for breakfast (if rather expensive). The Breakfast host was lovely, and so was the room attendant.
The property was not easy to access due to all the road works close by for new tram system. Sat nav takes you to exit gate which in theory is one way exiting the property, so you have to do a large detour to find the main entrance. We seemed to have bad luck on wine tasting and eating at Marcel. We were looking to forward to doing an afternoon wine tasting of Domaine de Verchant wines but on 2 occasions the Cave were unable to accommodate us. After being unsuccessful on the first day, we booked online for the day after. I got an email to say they could not honour the time requested, offering an earlier time or a wine tasting in Montpellier at 5pm. We declined. We also were unable to book at Marcel, even though we were staying at the hotel, which seemed rather odd. One would think they would keep 1 or 2 tables in reserve for guests. La Plage restaurant was quite a good experience. However, for the price and reputation of Relais Chateau it seemed rather clunky service, i.e. loads of staff but not a lot of management! For example being shown to a table and then noone coming to ask for a drinks order due to a staff meeting in the restaurant. We decided to go to the bar to order our own drinks and wait until they were ready!
Five star location. Without a doubt. The vineyard is stunning, the old buildings are gorgeous and the views are perfect. Not sure I can think of a better located pool and pool bar. We wanted to stay there all day. The spa is brilliant and the facilities are, generally, of a very high level. We had a duo scrub and massage which was one of the highlights of our mini-honeymoon. Our room was large very cool with the quiet AC and had a gorgeous private terrace. The team left us a bottle of champagne which was a lovely touch.
Although the location is five star, some of the facilities and (occasionally) the service felt more like four star. We arrived early so were not surprised when we were told our room was not ready yet. This was perfectly understandable and we were happy to explore the grounds and have a drink at the bar. We were given a time to return but the room was not ready then so we were sent away for 20 minutes. We returned and it was still not ready. The tablet in the room was very clear about the facilities but it said the outside pool was open from May till October and until 1900. We arrived there just before 1800 and the lady sent us away saying it was closed. When we mentioned the tablet in the room she shrugged and said "summer hours". The pool restaurant was lovely, the food was good and the views with sunset and a DJ were stunning. However the service was pretty slow and, despite being quiet, on the first night there were several mistakes with wrong orders being sent to our table, long waits, forgotten drinks etc. The service was much better on the second night when the restaurant was much, much quieter. It appeared that, perhaps, the hotel and restaurant were a little short of staff in some areas or that service had slipped. The pool restaurant toilets were fairly messy and felt a bit cheap compared to the five star rating - the paper towels were very thin and basic for example. The breakfast buffet was a real highlight but was certainly overpriced. You would probably expect cooked to order egg dishes etc. for that price.
Beautiful setting with a stunning spa. Fantastic swimming pool - infinity, overlooking vines and very good length. Lovely breakfast outside and great food either sitting on the lawns or over the pool. Very good value for money.
The building was nice. rooms were very nice aircon stuck on one setting for every room not nice.the sun beds situation was a joke all reserved for other people even though we was there first. sat there from 10am then we decided to go up and ask for a drink French people got asked if they wanted a drink straight away. the manger was a nice bloke if he new this was going on i am sure he wouldn't be happy.
The staff by the always did things first for the French guests and the sunbed system needs to change. people turning up need to be given a choice of sunbeds if your going to book this hotel book early and find out about the sunbed system.
Room was super comfortable - bed was huge and we had a lovely sitting area and balcony. La plage restaurant was lovely - the pool area had a real beach club vibe. The wine from the vineyard was delicious and reasonably priced in the shop.
Thought the breakfast at €39 per person was quite expensive. We also ate in the hotel restaurant and my advice would be to check the menu - is a 5 or 7 course set menu. The hotel is in a quiet location - a 15 min cab ride into town.
We loved it
We were disappointed to miss out on the main restaurant as that was the main attraction for us, because we were told it was not open when we checked in but didn’t realise it was open the next night.
Everything about this place is breath taking. It's just gorgeous. We used the free e-bikes to ride around the beach and into the city it was brilliant.
nothing, it was the best weekend!! loved it sooo much.
The breakfast was good, but we thought the pricing was included in our room cost.
There were no openers for the beverages in the room. Nice bottle of wine, but couldn't open it. Nice bottled water, but couldn't open them. My friends room had an opener but no wine. Amenities were incomplete between our two rooms.
