Pros +
- Great location and very comfortable, We would stay there again. Highly recommended.
- I can confirm all positive comments of others. We had a lovely stay, the location is fantastic, we loved the spacious room and even while it was getting cold outside, the heating in the room was more than adequate: super comfy. It's the perfect location from where to stroll around the wonderful center of Leiden, and if you're done walking around, there are some fantastic restaurant options just across from Ex-Libris, so easy and enjoyable.
- Location in the old town, beautiful area and character
Cons -
- No complaints
- Again location, your in the student area. Bed was comfortable but one person had to climb over the other, bathroom was cramped, hard to open shower door once in bathroom. Not really a true hotel, not much contact with anybody, more a room in a house. We coped with the stairs, but be warned and had no help with luggage which was fine for us but others may struggle.
- Even by Dutch standards, the stairs to our room were very steep and hard to access with luggage. The bed set up isn't ideal either as there is no space around it, so if there are two of you it's not great for getting in and out (especially from the far side). Looking at the pictures I think this issue is probably only in this particular second floor room, however.

This is a lovely hotel in a great location. The owner is friendly, helpful and responsive. The espresso machine was a welcome feature. The shower is great and the under floor heating in the bathroom was also impressive.

Bed was very comfortable, location good, breakfast was also good and served efficiently.
The stairs!!! Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay would have had second thoughts ?.
High quality accomodation in fabulous location. Really good restaurants and bars around.
Heavy rain meant access was required to collect rain from flat roof which was unusual and could have disturbed us.Stairs are typically old Dutch. I like them but you need to be fully able to get up and down them!
The property and atmosphere is very charming and cozy and the location is super convenient in the heart of Leiden historical district. The room was vary nice and comfortable, quiet at night, with a nice desk that was very useful for my work trip. Its size exceeded my expectations. The bed was also very comfortable.
Being the building historical, the staircase was very steep and narrow. It was not a problem for me but it is not easy to climb it if you have a large suitcase.
Fint rum, nära till allt.
Breakfast not included, bit noisy.
Didn’t have breakfast, but it was available at additional charge.
The stairs were terribly steep. There was no reception or hotel facilities. It was less like a hotel and more like an Airbnb.
Great atmosphere; Nicely decorated rooms. Great a-la carte breakfast. Perfect location in city center, close the university.
Shower water not running off smoothly; loose towel hanger. Wifi signal not strong in all parts of the room. Stairs are narrow, not easy to climb or descend with a suitcase.
Boutique hotel in the old houses district of Leiden. Renovated and eecorated with a good sense of quality and design. Comfortable bed and room.
The stairs, very steep. But that is normal in such old houses (build in 1800 something)
Amazing bed, amazing shower, great room, perfect location
clean, excellent location, comfortable bed, nice breakfast options, coffee machine, arm chairs, experience of old building of Netherlands.
noise from outside and neighbor rooms, crashing sound of doors, steep stairs (may be typical old buildings in Netherlands)
Great location in relation to centre (with loads of fab shops and eateries) and also tourist spots ie Horticus Bitanicus and Rijksmuseum Leiden, just two great places to visit nearby. Some exceedingly good restaurants beside Hotel too.

It is in a very central part of the old town, so that was a very nice feature. It also has all the old world charm of a 400 year old building. The location was ideal for walking to all important sights and also the Saturday market.
The room was on the third floor and required a literal climb up some VERY steep stairs. It is not at all suitable for anyone with balance or mobility issues. This particular building was separate from the main hotel, and if I knew before I arrived there were the kinds of stairs I had to negotiate, I would have refused the room. If you are young, don't have a suitcase and have good balance, there is no issue. Otherwise.......think twice.
Room was big and spacious with a good sized bathroom and a Nespresso coffee machine. Located in a lovely part of town by Pieterskerk - pretty cobbled streets nearby and lots of nice cafes and bars too. Stairs are quite steep to the room but you get used to them, and there aren't many. Staff were helpful about us leaving luggage before/after check in. Easy check in and a nice stay.
Location.High standard of room.Lovely breakfast available.
A little noisy at times... other residents on stairs.Layout of building makes this a bit inevitable - steep wooden stairs.
Beautiful location
Small thin towels were the only negative ! But they gave us additional ones.
The localization was truly perfect, around 100m from my conference venue, surrounded by excellent restaurants and bars.
It was very well situated.
Travelers need to know that when you stay in a historical hotel in the Netherlands, there are very, very steep spiral staircases to get to your room. Not many have lifts or luggage lifts, there is just no space. So if you are elderly, not fit and have very large suitcases, you are not going to manage. If you are very tall & you stay in the attic you are going to be bumping your head.
