Pros +
- Welcoming. Central location. Next to a windmill, old town gate, and canal.
- Great hotel breakfast and comfortable room!
- Best location in Leiden - close to train station and centrally located. Very comfortable rooms. Amazing staff. Be sure to order the breakfast every morning.
Cons -
- 2 pillows per person. Both pillows rather high - I like a squishier pillow. If you’re going to have 2 pillows per person, supply one bigger/more solid pillow and one swishy pillow. If
- Not the fault of the property, but it can be noisy at night.
- Couldn't really unpack our suitcases, only a few hangers and 2 small shelves

No lift, but the staff brought our bags to the room! Great location! Comfortable beds!

Very nice room and breakfast, coffee shop common area. Leiden was a great place to stay; good restaurants and central to other sites
Good location and Everything was clean.
The room was quite small for 2 people.
Excellent breakfast (not included in price of the room).Excellent location, staff very helpful and welcoming
No Air Conditioning: made sleeping at night and relaxing during the hot summer day difficult.

Great looking boutique hotel. Very nice welcome and help to check us in. Also a very nice welcome to our doggo.
It was extremely warm. They provided us with a fan but it wasn't doing much. The room being under the roof we were sweating all night.
Great location for exploring the city. Loved the way the historic building was remodeled into a hotel. Staff was very friendly and helpful. It was quiet at night - even with the windows open.
No air conditioning (likely because it is a historic property) but an efficient fan was provided for the room.
the room was spacious; the location was very good; the bed was very comfortable; the shower was great (good water pressure)
that the room was in a park is both good and bad; the outdoor cafe was right outside of my room, so that was somewhat inconvenient; young teenagers congregated in the park late at night and can be rather noisy at times
Outstanding breakfast. Wonderful staff. Great location.
The hotel is in a beautifully remodeled heritage building. The staff were helpful in every respect, even carrying our luggage up the flight of steps to our room. Breakfast was amazing.
Interesting property - great location. We faced the canal. My daughter’s room on the ground level faced a brick wall. So that was not so nice.
No elevator but they helped with the bags. No clear communication when you arrived on where to pull in and unload the bags. Entrance is around the corner but no signage on the side of the building having the street that you drive in on. We drove around, parked the car briefly and got a 100 Euro ticket.
Charming and nice attraction to details. Staff was friendly and helpful. Setting was everything you expect from Netherlands—canal, city gate, windmill, bridge.
Beautifully renovated old barracks, next to a little park with a windmill and Rembrandt statue, the Morschpoort and the canal. Very centrally located close to the railway station and downtown. The staff were wonderful. Breakfast was delicious. Relaxed welcoming atmosphere.
The room lacked a fridge and Airconditioning. It was noisy until midnight with the windows open. No elevator, but the staff kindly helped us carry our bags upstairs.
Great location Loved how small the hotel wasLoved the outside area

The location to everything was perfect. Shopping, restaurants and Leiden Central
It was warm so we had our windows open. It was nosy some nights with people laughing outside
There's anything in particular I liked. In fact it's just an ordinary hotel, with a larger room than the average, within a stylish environment, but nothing that makes this a truly boutique hotel. The hotel is centrally located, not far away from the train station and this is surely a bonus.
There was not a personalised service, unique character, or insider knowledge that are the basic treats for a boutique hotel. The best advices received were to eat at other restaurants from the same owner. We came even on the king's day, and up I didn't ask later in the evening, we were not even told why everybody was going around in orange t-shirt. We initially thought at a football match.
Great location, friendly and knowledge staff
Bread wasn’t the best, not fresh
