Hotel Don Pepe Lago de Sanabria

The location is excellent, the Sanabria lake is just across the road. The views are very nice and there are a couple lake beaches nearby. You can get to some nice towns including Puebla de Sanabria in 10-20 minutes by car.The staff is super helpful, it's a family business and it shows. Every staff member is kind and goes out of their way to make you feel at home.The quadruple room is perfect for families, it is quite large.

Beds are a bit hard, especially for large people.The bedroom could do with a small fridge.No air conditioning or thermostat to adjust heating. Temperatures were perfect during our stay, but I imagine this could be a problem in other moments of the year.

Exceptionally friendly and accommodating staff. Went out of their way to make us welcome (7 male bikers passing through). Very peaceful location overlooking the lake and the whole place was immaculately clean.

Limited options in restaurant but to be fair this was out of season.....

The place is amazing for hiking and enjoying some days off. As for the hotel, the breakfast very much exceeded my expectations. I loved it.

The mattresses of the beds were too hard for my liking, but I can understand that that can come down to personal preference.

The food are very good the breakfast is served at 9h, late for some but for us, it was not a problem. It's a continental breakfast, no eggs but with fruit, toast, jam and I don't know if it was included but they served us also cheese and ham serrano The employees were super. It's a good place to stop for a night, it's calm and you wake up with the view of the lake.

It was cold 4C or 39 F and they have a water heating system that you can't control. The room was cold so we have to ask to put more heat and they did. Also, in the dining room, we had to choose the place to have some heat and dress with warm clothes.

Made to feel very welcome, english speaking staff. Bargain price..

The owners and workers were so kind! Very helpful! We don’t speak much espanol but they went out of their way to help us. Wonderful dinners! Breakfast was a typical continental breakfast with pastries, coffee, cereal and fresh fruit. View was fabulous of the lake! Muy bueno!

Not enough gluten free food.

the location was great, nice place, nice landscape, very quiet zone, cool to shillout, near to the lake, near to the places you need to be if you are travelling in the country, it have elevator for people with low mobility

The room was great, but quite expensive!The beds were comfortable, and the room was super silent!The conditions of the room where very good.There was a park to park your car, and the breakfast was nice.The coffee was good and the toasted croissant was divine! The room was great!

The Wi-Fi didn’t work, not even slightly. We complained on the first night and still wasn’t fixed.The place is expensive, but I think is related with the prices of the other places around, but we paid 75€ per night, and this was the most expensive I’ve paid in a 4weeks trip to Spain, visiting places like Sevilla, torremolinos etc. The room didn’t had a view, it was just for the trees. This is quite expensive.Also on the reservation, I‘ve reserved a double bed, but they gave us a room with twin beds. They notified us on that right after the reservation that the room was not a double bed, as they didn’t had other options…
