- The hotel interior is nice, cozy, and comfortable. Everything is well looked after.Staff was nice and friendly, breakfast good and plenty. The hotel is looking for a 4-star grading, but it still has some work to do to get there. But as far as I could see, they are definitely trying.
- Don’t be scared by the outside of the hotel (as we were), the rooms are nice and comfortable. The staff was very nice which is appreciated !
- The Hotel is stylish and clean. The staff are friendly and polite.Breakfast and Dinner are really good. They offering a large selection of mains and sides. Also two different kind of soup and delicious desserts are available every day. Foods are tasty and fresh. Extra point the carvery serving, so you can try anything what you like.We loved the little playroom where you can play billiards darts soccer game and xbox too.The Hotel also have a little spa is located on the top floor. There you can enjoy a jacuzzi, sauna and Turkish bath no matter how is the weather outside. The location also great only a few minutes walk from the lake and promenade.
Cons -
- The exterior of the hotel looks strange. I mean, you can see that it is undergoing upgrading constructions, but from the outside, you wouldn't say that it is a 4 star hotel at all.And the terrace in front of the hotel has a kind of "underground pub" feeling.
- The price is way too high for the quality.Dinner and breakfast are basic.
- Dinner and breakfast were not so good, pretty bland and looked a bit unappetizing. Rooms were renovated but it was not too clean.

It had good facilities, staff was very polite and friendly.

Location is perfect. City Centre is walking distance, lake is even closer. Big Tesco store is 5 minutes car drive away. It’s very quiet hotel, hotel staff will go all in for your happiness. They’re truly hardworking people, speaking German or English, with no problems. Parking wasn’t a problem at all, secured location in front of the hotel, costs around 4€/day. Will come back.
Bed. I don’t know what was wrong, but I couldn’t sleep well. But most definitely the owner should invest in more comfortable pillows. You only get 1 pillow per person, and they are small. Honestly didn’t ask for options, maybe you could get one more on request, wasn’t that big of a deal.
The food was very good.
The biggest disappointment was the wellness. Only one sauna was working properly which we found disappointing as we expected we would enjoy spa and wellness there. Also, the walls are not sounproof, we could here everything that was happening in the room next to us, snoring included.
The location was very good: near the lake and near the city. The room was very big and had enough storage space. The wellness area was also nice, not very big, so it was crowded on weekends. The food at dinner time was good, not too many choices, but they changed it every evening. The personnel was friendly and helpful.
The temperature in the room was difficult to adjust; the airco didn’t work so you had to open the window to let the room cool off, which would lead to noise from the cars on the streets. Also the temperature of the water in the shower was tricky, after a few moments the water would turn very cold, then you had to turn off the water and turn it on again. If you adjusted the temperature a little bit, it could get extremely hot. Breakfast options were very limited.
Extremely kind and helpful staff!!! Nice location, private parking, great food…
Disappointing
Food in the restaurant was bad qualityPrice was high for overall qualityBike storage in the garage was full of chaosLift in the hotel extremely small Overrated 4 star hotel, should be 3 max
Staff and Service were friendly and helpful
The Hotel needs a total renovation. It does not qualify for 4 stars now. There are ants and bugs in rooms. Outside there are still painted only 3 stars.
Good little hotel close to the lake. The breakfast was great, the dinner also.
For a 4 star hotel I expected some hair&body wash, didn't have it in my room.
The food was very good and the location is just a short walk from the lake. I also liked the welness and the gameroom. The staff in the bar (breakfast/dinner) were really nice.
We paid 46 eur extra for a newborn who stayed with us that did not need a crib (we had a bed for him - we did not need a bigger room for that) and did not eat food. The price for an adult was 62 eur/night. 46 for a newborn who did not need anything - we found this ridiculous. The parking was also 4 eur/day (did not mind paying, but should be included in price of the room). The hotel looks fancy on photos but has a real cheap feel. The room was poorly cleaned (there were dust piles in corners etc).
This is a decent hotel, a little overpriced in my opinion. The room was clean and had an AC. Bathroom had a tiny shower and was equipped with only some shower gel. Breakfast was OK. We did not use any facilities.
We booked a room with both breakfast and dinner. Dinner is served until 8pm. Because we realised we'll be late, at 7pm we wrote a message to the hotel that we'll arrive around 9pm. Hotel replied that they took note of our late arrival and they need our permission to ''get some meal set aside''. As we were busy with our road to reach the hotel, we didn't reply to hotel's message. When we reached the hotel at 8:50pm, we didn't get any dinner because they considered we did not give permission for them to put aside some meal. But we had to pay for dinner.
The room was beautiful and clean, the staff was very helpful and friendly.
The only thing is that the walls were thin, or maybe we had exceptionally loud people in the next room.
Clean and Comfortable , Good location and friendly staff
Location was ok. Room was somewhat modern.
Firstly, the outside of the building is in a disastrous state. The entire hotel looks run down. The rooms seem to be the only parts refurbished to a somewhat acceptable degree. Upon entering the hotel, we questioned how much we had paid to stay in this hotel. Our assessment was that we had paid too much! To make matters worse the receptionist tried to double charge us by requesting payment even though we had already paid via booking.com. We had booked this hotel on a half-board basis, so we had breakfast and dinner included. These were served as a buffet, but we could barely fill a single plate of edible food from their very small selection. We didn't use their jacuzzi and sauna as we weren't sure that these were hygienic. I don't know how this can be called a 4 star hotel.
The room was nice and the staff in the restaurant were great.
The salt inhalation and Turkish bath didn’t work. The infrared sauna and normal sauna worked. The hot tub worked as well.
Very good location. Comfortable stay and very good breakfast. Cozy spa place.
Everything was great
Very good
The only thing I have is that dinner didn't have any (at least) vegetarian option. We ate french fires and rice, with pickles.
I liked the room it was spacious and seemingly clean. The fridge was empty. The staff was very nice and kind at the hotel, I cannot complain about that.
The last day I got sick from the food. Maybe it was just me, but they put the same Mexican bean for two days and I got sick from it. That ruined my last night at the hotel. Also what I missed is more fruits and vegetables for dinner and breakfast, a healthier selection. Otherwise, probably this is what you can expect at Balaton since everything is overpriced, sadly.
