Franconia City Hotel

Wonderful, family-run hotel with exceptionally helpful and friendly owners. Very comfortable, recent and modern renovations, and a perfect location for getting around the city.

The location was amazing. There was a small Christmas market basically 2 short blocks away. The room was comfortable and the breakfast was very good.

Absolutely nothing . 10 plus!!

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel in Rothenburg and cannot recommend it highly enough. The owners—a mother and son—were truly exceptional: warm, welcoming, and incredibly helpful. They went out of their way to share local knowledge, recommendations, and history that made our visit even more special and meaningful.

I only have positive things to say about this hotel.

It is in a central location 4/7 minutes walk to underlinten subway. The old town is 150m away it was clean nice breakfast etc. the shower and toilet were so clean the staff were brilliant caring courteous and very helpful

The heating was a little to hot n dry

The family owned hotel. The owners were super nice, friendly, explained what to see, where to go. The hotel with very good location, just in the city center and old town. Although my room was only 11 m2, it actually seemed more spacious.Would choose that another time when come to Nuernberg.

location is perfect, 15 min walk from Main Station - Hauptbahnhof and the hotel is surrounded by historical buildings, which provide a special atmosphere, close to everything you need to see in Nuremberg. hotel owners are very friendly, helpful and can answer any questions you could have. I def would recommend this hotel and hope to stay again here.

Lovely, cosy, spotlessly clean hotel - the hosts, Kristen and Tom couldn’t do enough to help. Made the whole experience very special. Would thoroughly recommend the hotel to anyone. The breakfast was also excellent with a fab selection, beautifully presented. Just couldn’t fault it.

Would be nice to have cosy little bar to have a coffee , beer, wine etc after a days sight seeing/Christmas marketing etc. However, I can see it would be difficult. This is not something I didn’t like - it would just add even more to this lovely hotel

Everything about this hotel was exceptional. The rooms were spacious, spotlessly clean and quality mattress and linen. The small extra provisions provided were so appreciated. Breakfast was delicious, fresh and great variety. Kirsten and Tim made it feel like we were staying with family! Their restaurant recommendations were perfect too. A beautiful experience in a beautiful town. Thank you!!

verything was really great. The room was comfortable, the location was perfect for exploring the city, but above all the host was amazing. He gave us excellent recommendations for everything and was incredibly friendly and helpful.

Location was excellent. Staff were superb….Friendly helpful and very informative. Guided us on our choice of restaurants and historic walks in the city. Rooms were spotlessly clean and comfortable. Fantastic experience. Would highly recommend.

This property is run by a family Kirsten and Tim and their attention to detail and service are remarkable.Loved the decor, cleanliness, hospitality and location.

Loved everything

The boutique hotel was very nice, unassuming from the outside but super cute once you entered. The room we stayed in was spacious and very comfortable for our 4 days. There was a kettle with instant coffee and tea available and I enjoyed having coffee available in the room for the morning. It was also quiet, the other guests were respectful and we never heard them. The owners were incredibly nice and hospitable and we enjoyed having small chats with them as we were coming and going each day. Although we never had the breakfast, the breakfast spread offered looked delicious. There is a delicious restaurant across the street from the hotel where you can get traditional Bavarian food and the atmosphere was perfect for these two Americans wanting the authentic experience.

Once in the room, we realized the hotel backed up to a parking lot and a fire station was right there. We were worried that would be an issue, possibly with sirens going off at all times of the night. But this was not the case at all and it was a non issue. It should not detract anyone from choosing to stay here. The hotel is wonderful.

Kristie is excellent and extremely helpful with giving all the tips for our first time visit to the city. If we can ever come back to Nuremberg, I know where we will be staying:)

It is in a great location with parking across the street. The room was comfortable and breakfast was great! They took time to point out special locations to visit in the Alt Stadt on a map they went over with us upon arrival. That was very nice and extremely helpful.

Everything was wonderful, beautiful, and very, very friendly! Kerstin and Tim created a warm, family-like atmosphere. I also really liked the hotel's location; the surrounding area is beautiful and picturesque.I would happily return to Nuremberg and stay at this hotel! Kerstin and Tim — you're in my heart!
