Hotel und Alpen Apartments - Bürglhöh

Exceptional room, views, service, and meal. Secluded from town and some may need GPS navigation to locate. Room was nicely appointed with a balcony and fantastic views of the mountains. Bed was very comfortable. We did not get to use the sauna.

Everything was super.

Beautiful location, great views, the suite was spacious and clean, the food at the restaurant was delicious and the hosts were friendly and gracious.

The road up the mountain could get quite narrow.

An amazing location- can’t call them staff. This is a family run hotel and they make you feel like family from the moment you arrive! And the food is incredible. I feel very fortunate to have this Austrian alpine gem!!

This place was a special discovery. We were looking for a place away from noisy areas with a view. This place exceeded our expectations! The beds, towels, linens were first class. The view was phenomenal. The restaurant gave us one of the best meals of our vacation. Truly inspiring to stay here. The hosts were warm and welcoming and provided extra touches such as taking our bags to our room and explaining where everything was and how things worked. Oh, how we wish we could have stayed longer!

The location is simply breathtaking, the room was spacious, modern, clean and comfortable. Frau and Herr Ratgeb are wonderful hosts, very polite and friendly. Our German knowledge is quite poor but we got by nevertheless. The dinners were absolutely fantastic: Austrian cuisine is not particularly famous, so it took us by surprise how delicious every meal that we tried here was (and we aren't people who are easily impressed when it comes to food).

Location of the hotel was excellent. Beautiful views all around the top apartment.

We were booked for 2 adults and 3 children for two nights stay (breakfast included). Upon arrival we have found that the price we got given on Booking.com doesn't include our 12/10/5 year old children (even though they were included in the booking). We haven't had any communication from the hotel prior to booking to say there's an extra charge so we have arrived as normal. At that point it was quite late in the day and we couldn't go around asking other hotels for availability. As a result we end up paying 240 euro more than it was expected. In my opinion this is not a good way to go around doing business as it looks like they are hidden fees. It is worth to mention we would have been given the same room regardless of the children being there.Hotel has a kids policy that says kids age 3 years old and above are treated as adults and you have to pay for them like for adults. You have to know that they might end up with you in the room but will be sleeping on the foldable sofa. We have 3 kids so one slept in one tiny bedroom and the other two on the foldable sofa in our room.Sauna was ok but no oils available for the inhalation.Also it says in the booking that there's coffee and tea available in there room. This was partly true as there have been two pods of coffee there when we arrived (no tea). Next day coffee was gone even though we hadn't used it. Hardly worth over 600 euros spent for two nights.I'm very disappointed as no effort had been made to compromise to keep both sides happy.

Comfortable, clean, and nicely decorated room. The views from the room are breathtaking. The owners are very pleasant and accommodating. The food is exceptional. Highly recommended.

Nothing, everything was perfect.

This lovely hotel looks just as good as it does in the photos. It has a perfect balance of tradition and modern touches and everything is of a very high standard! The staff were very nice, friendly and looked after us well. They were also very kind and understanding when we got the timing of our dinner reservation wrong and the kitchen was closing. The food is absolutely fantastic, would highly recommend the goulash! Breakfast is brought to your table and the variety is excellent. The location is also great and the views are spectacular! We would love to return if ever back in the area.

A book in the room with information (for example restaurant menu, kitchen opening hours, breakfast times, check out times) would have been great however we received this information when we asked so not a big problem :)

Lack of fridge and microwave oven

The room is very big, clean, and great facilities. The hotel area is very beautiful. After long drive and checked in, we made a walk in the forest, then had dinner at hotel’s restaurant. The food was very delicious. Also breakfast is very great.

Absolutely fantastic calm place to relax and spend time. Owners (family) were really nice and helpful and the meals they cook and serve are so tasteful.

The only thing we missed as a family with small kids was a fridge in the room.

The staff was great, the view was wonderful and it was very peaceful. Recommend for everyone to come here.

It would be great bonus to have English version of menu for non-German speakers.

Very nicely located, but take into account that if you arrive by bicycle ( as we did ) after a day ride coming from Salzburg, you need to climb for 3km on average at 8%. But it is worth the effort! Nice view over the valley! Moreover, we arrived on Monday, when the restaurant is closed, but the owner was so kind to prepare anyhow a nice meal for us. The breakfast was very good. In conclusion: after a very good stay we were prepared to start another day of biking along the CycloVia Alpe2Adria.

We stayed at Burglhoh for 5 nights! What can we say? The location is unbeatable overlooking the Austrian Alps, the rooms and facility are sparkling clean, comfortable, and cozy! The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed traveling with our 9-month-old, including booking a COVID-19 test for us to get back to the U.S. Sabrina went above and beyond! The food is incredible, simply delicious, all sourced locally - high cuisine! We loved so much staying at Burglhoh, we loved Austria and no doubt we'll be back and stay here again, what incredible memories we made during this vacation. This family-owned hotel had everything we were looking for to enjoy some relaxing family time! Thanks for everything!
