Pros +
- Good location for train travel
- Well located close to the train station, photos look better than the rooms but the staff was nice and welcoming even for a late night arrival.
- The room and bathroom wasn’t fully cleaned and the worst was that the beds were full of bed bugs. My son got more than 50 bites in a night. Moreover there was noisy room neighbours that walked on the top and make a lot of noise through the night! We’ve been coming to the Cecil hotel for years but this was our last time! Horrible experience despite the night man niceness.
Cons -
- Water heater wasn’t working, due to city shut off the gas? No refunds, reductions, no breakfast coffee nothing.
- A modest place that can need some refreshing, like changing the old stained carpets and old faucets in the water room. Heard leaking water at night and the bathroom smelled smoking ?, our first given room was not cleaned after the previous customer so we had it changed, and they couldn't get us a room with separate single beds.

Location is quite good. Staff was friendly.
When we arrived there was a heavy smell of fried food, which made it not feel like a hotel. Furthermore interior of the room was very very outdated, the elevator was tiny as well. The hotel did not feel safe. We had to leave our keys behind in an open box at the entrance when we left. I think they can invest in card keys.
The only acceptable aspect was the car parking facility. We shortened our holiday due to an urgent family crisis and the hotel I booked for a couple of days later was was fully booked!
Everything about the hotel other than the private parking! The bathroom was disgusting! The wash basin did not empty. The toilet roll was placed on the the toilet as the dispenser was broken. The sanitary towel holder was an empty piece of metal on the wall. The top of the shower fitting was dangling and not connected to the wall fittingThe expensive breakfast was equally as bad! There was no choice and the coffee machine did was empty as was the apple juice bottle. The employee did not have a clue regarding the ability to provide a service to clients. I asked more than once for coffee and had to bring a sachet from the room! I asked to see the owner of the hotel and was told that he would not come "just because I wanted coffee"! The employee found replacement apple juice but poured it into a large jug, presumably because he did not know how to install it in the machine.
room is specious,a tub
missing shampoo in the container by the tub, missing hangers, bathroom door handle was broken, tissue container was empty, no extra pillow.
Located in a quiet street twixt rail station and city centre. Slightly faded but still quite elegant. The room was spacious and the bed comfortable. The toilet cistern lid was detached, but the mechanism worked the flush ok The breakfast tray was a nice continental cold selection and was a good start to the day.
Initial room guests had smoked profusely leaving a nasty smoke and air freshener stench. Reception allocated me another room which was nice.
Location
Not clean. Very outdated. Mold in bathroom.
Location and staff
Small rooms
Location is very good and central
Beds not very comfortable and breakfast could use a bit more TLC

Dirty as well. The bathroom has Blackout curtine, and no lights inside the shower. The Bath Must be in the darkness. Dirty from cigarrets on bathroom.. it was Not cleaned. The bedroom smells smoke of cigarrets.
The rooms are old but really neat. The staffs were really nice.
I asked for a standard double bed but I got two small beds joined together. Luckily my husband could not come with me. How would we have slept on that bed? Or even cuddle?
Location and staff
Too old and shabby which is like a storeroom
The room was small but clean, and quite.
The breakfast did not have a great choice for the price paid. there is no parking space near the hotel and at £10 for parking, I found that parking in parking de la gare cheaper and not that far from the hotel.
Nice staff.
Room was shabby. sink kept blocking up. Pillows were like sleeping on a brick.
Lovely central gem Lovely room very fair price great staff
Clean and quiet an excellent stop off point and close to main city.
The breakfast was very poor even though it was only 8 euros each.Stale croissant, cereal, toast and cheap juice.
The staff were helpful and friendly
The rooms and facilities were terrible. The booking.com photos don't look anything like the real rooms. The rooms are hot, need maintenance, there are cracks and issues everywhere.
Good location in the city centre
Small room. Not as clean as it should be. There were stains in some walls and bed. The bed was hard and uncomfortable and the pillow was thin. Worst hotel room I had in France.I called during the week to book a parking spot and they confirmed it but then I arrived at 11pm and not only they had no parking for me the guy at reception had no idea about it and could speak english properly. Their only solution was to point to a public parking so I can park there and then walk 15min in the night back to the hotel.
It's in the outskirts of the city, walking distance, free parking in the weekend, 24/7 staffed. Also the price is relatively okay in such a city.
Where to start? The incredibly convoluted layout was the least worry, but the shower was very mouldy, the air conditioning was broken, the toilet was like a sauna and my knees were touching the wall in front, the sheets didn't seem too clean, there were paper cups instead of real ones, the breakfast wasn't worth the €10 by far, there was a view of a terrible maintained roof, and the coffee was horrendous. It's maybe fine as a stop in a road trip, to stay there literally one day, but you wouldn't want to stay there much longer.
