Hôtel de la Cathédrale Metz

I loved the historic charm of the hotel and the room. They were very cute. They bathrooms were nice and clean and the beds were comfy with cotton linens.

The location is perfect, right in front of the Cathedral. The staff accommodated us in a fantastic room after we were initially given a room without heat.

Location is excellent. Beautiful view of the Cathedral from the breakfast room. The breakfast included far more than we could eat. Breads, pastries, boiled eggs, cheese, meats and a large variety of fruit. Choice of coffee - lattes were excellent. Old old hotel but the bathrooms have been updated.

For those with limited mobility, the lack of elevator might be problematic. It was quite a hike to to top floor!

Lovely hotel in prime location. The room was a good size. Loved the little outdoor spot to sit in the afternoon to relax after touring the town.

Too many stairs to get to the top floors - but was expected in older buildings like this. Would still stay here again regardless.

convenience to city center

rooms were in a separate building and in poor condition, with old bedspreads, common areas that needed updating, etc.

Great location to everything very quaint old world style. We were able to walk around city easily and staff helpful in arranging taxi’s to take us to other places. Breakfast was very nice. ?

No lift in building but that’s understandable for age of hotel We had lots of heavy suitcases and we managed it

The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Our room was beautiful with two good sized windows.

Long walk upstairs to the fourth floor. WC was a little tight.

Central location near many restaurants and the market, beautiful view of the cathedral, air conditioned rooms and a small and pleasant common terrace for all to use. Room windows have excellent soundproofing.

The hotel is a bit old-fashioned, which might be a disadvantage for some, though everything is clean and well-maintained. There is no lift; you need to be able to carry your bags upstairs. I appreciated the exercise!

Very central. It is authentic. A historic building.

It’s a walk up without elevator. In our case this meant a lot of schlepping stuff up the multiple stairs and floors. They couldn’t make a fried egg for breakfast. The city underground parking was quite far away and we got lost. Definitely first drop off your luggage at the hotel.

The location was excellent, right outside cathedral and by so any restaurants. Hotel was lovely-clean, spacious, lots of old historic details but updated bathroom, comfortable beds. It is a family run hotel with such nice staff. Loved my room 105

Not anything really!

The location of the hotel was perfect - right across from the Cathedral. We could see the market setting up in the morning and walked over for fresh pastries.

The hotel is in an excellent location close to many historical sites, cathedrals, restaurants, stores, parks, and the covered market. The train station and multiple launderettes are within 20 minutes walking distance as well. Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and was historical like the rest of the hotel. The shower was very good and the bed was very comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. We highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again.

We liked everything.

The room was very good and we have asked for the same room on our next visit. The breakfast selection was good value and the staff are helpful and welcoming.

The view of the Cathedral from our room, outstanding! We absolutely loved our stay at this old, beautiful hotel! The time period decor, bedding & vibe was perfect for us. Walking distance to food, shops & scenery very easy. Parking a breeze at the Cathedral parking garage. Be aware, no elevator access but we didn’t need it, just know before you book. The only thing I didn’t care for was the tub/shower combo. I felt I couldn’t get a good soaking shower as my choices were either having to sit in the tub (not ideal for me) or stand holding the shower wand all without a curtain/door to contain the water spray. I tried really hard to not completely flood the bathroom. It was a challenge. Otherwise our stay was fabulous!

Perfect location for an overnight stay with view of the cathedral. No lift but super helpful staff helped us out to reach beautiful, clean and wonderfully quirky top room with beams. Thank you.

Close to all amenities.

I’m afraid I didn’t like the food very much . It was Moroccan but I didn’t think it tasted very good at all. Very disappointed .
