Pros +
- Excellent breakfast.
- Fantastic location on the river. Historic city centre walking distance across a pedestrian bridge and up a short hill; around 10 min. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Very nice breakfast buffet (not included). Rooms are comfortable but minimalist in facilities e.g. no kettle or hairdryer (can be requested from reception). Very tall persons to note the newly renovated bathrooms have showers that are a little low in ceiling height. There is no official parking, but a few spaces may be available in front of the hotel (a matter of first come first serve, not reserved) and if not, street parking areas are not far. In conclusion I would say it's a great value hotel which was perfect for our first Metz visit.
- Felt like we were locals in Reims. Big apartment. 5 minute walk to train station and 10 minutes walk to center. Best shower of our trip. Full kitchen. Easy parking inside building.
Cons -
- That the chairs in the room were impossible to move without causing a huge screeching on the uncarpeted floor. Surrounding rooms noisy as a result.
- Lack of kettle in the room for a quick tea or coffee. Shower cubicle height will be a bit restrictive for very tall people (completely fine personally at 5'8").
- Really unhappy that the hotel did not say that there was refurbishment work being carried out. All I saw on the Booking.com information was that the bar was closed between Sept-Nov. However the works were throughout the hotel. Signs showed 8.30 to 4.30 but we were given a room (311) at the front of the hotel near the main entrance area, and a skip lorry arrived & dropped a double sized skip at 6.55am waking both of us up. The air con & bathroom fan was not working - I assume due to works so we had to keep the window wide open. The room smelt of paint. The car park was for Ibis guests, but it was not clear how to get the bell to work on the keypad to gain access, and the staff were not interested when I suggested better signage. We have stayed in many Ibis many times, so this was a real dissapointment for the price (the price on the hotel board at reception showed over 10 euro cheaper).

Clean tidy and good location.Parking was good.
Location was great & hotel easy to find.

The cleanliness of the room and the first staff who checked me in.
Quite far from the trajn n bus station.
A chain hotel is obviously not going to be characterful, but the rooms are well designed and comfortable. The location was great - just a short walk from the cathedral. I would happily stay there again.
The air conditioning wasn't all that effective.
BEWARE - Building works ruined stay
NOISE - impossible to be comfortable in room due to building works ongoing in the hotel. There were builders replacing windows in the room directly below our room resulting in constant hammering and drilling that was so loud it caused ear discomfort. Booking.com states that ‘For your comfort, our establishment has a new look! We carry out renovation work that may cause noise during the week.’ This DOES NOT convey that the room will be completely UNINHABITABLE for hours and hours during your stay and that the noise will cause you pain. The reception did not accept our request for a refund. DO NOT STAY HERE UNLESS YOU LOVE DRILLING AND HAMMERING NOISE. Our stay was terrible and I DO NOT recommend. Additionally, the room was not nice and not clean. There was no bin in the room. There was only half a roll of toilet paper provided. Sheets were stained. The pillows were flat and uncomfortable. The staff were not polite.
The hotel is air conditioned. It was a very nice on a sweltering hot day.We moved to this accommodation because the unit we booked had faulty air conditioning.
-very friendly staff-good breakfast-cozy atmosphere-good mattress-great location, just a walk to the old town and first line to the river
-room is a bit small, but ok
The hotel is in a good location and you can reach everywhere on foot. The breakfast is excellent and the staff is very friendly.
There weren't enough towels - I had only one towel. There weren't enough hangers. There was no kettle. Maybe I expected too much.
Location to Christmas Markets was ideal
1. Rooms need renovation. The bathroom baseboard area was falling apart and made the place seem dirty.2. Breakfast: We waited over 20 minutes to get a seat. The breakfast bar was poorly stocked at only 0900 with the majority of items empty... no coffee cups, no bread, empty jelly jars. Breakfast staff seemed very overwhelmed and never spoke to us, not even a greeting. It's definitely not worth the $15 price.3. When we arrived, the man at reception was not extremely helpful when it came to advice on where we could park or when we checked in. No staff spoke to us the entire stay until reception woman when we left.4. Men were playing ping pong during breakfast, just odd. Maybe put more breakfast tables instead of a ping pong table.5. The one elevator was out of service.6. The room was very warm, and the thermometer on the wall didn't seem to affect anything.7. The room didn't even have a kettle, never mind a coffee pot or a bottle of water, as we've seen in every other European hotel.
I recently stayed at the IBIS hotel in Metz and had a wonderful experience. The staff was incredibly polite, helpful, an

Good location for what we were looking for. Parking was great and close - even though we had to pay it was only 4€ for 24 hours, so perfect.
Small room, but we new this when booking

The breakfast was fantastic! I had a great view to the river which the staff accommodated by asking me for my preferences. The hotel is in a very nice location - super close to the centre but not in the touristic part. Quite convenient for a short stay!
The room is old-ish but they did their best to maintain it. Still, it felt a bit worn out. Unfortunately, the bathroom was not cleaned well - nothing unbearable, but it was expected for the price. The staff took this into consideration with respect and professionalism.
Nice clean rooms and decent breakfast Very convenient for the city centre.
The parking is a bit restricted.
