    Cons -

    • If a 5 rating denotes average conditions this hotel is below 5. Very basic amenities, running noisy toilet, tired furniture, sticky tabletop, uncomfortable mattrees. On top the room facing main boulevard was noisy with drafty windows despite my request for a quiet, warm room made at the time of booking
    • I needed to do some work in the hotel room at the desk and found the lighting could have been better.
    • Toilet is in a separate space with no sink to wash hands, but this might be a French thing

10 mins walk from the main station and the city center (different directions). Friendly, helpful staff. Quiet hotel guests. Handy map in room linking all main attractions into a suggested walking route. Bacon & eggs as well as the usual continental breakfast.

The Hotel is centrally located on avenue Foch, near the train station and about a ten to fifteen walk away from many points of interest: the Metz Cathedral, la Cour d'Or Museum, Porte Serpenoise, Porte des Allemands and Chapelle Saint-Genest-Maison Rabelais. Although I did not have time to visit the Musée de la Guerre de 1870, which I had thought would be closed in early January, the staff helpfully identified for me that it was open and how to get there by public transport. I had thought that the 15 square meter room might be cramped, but that was not a problem. The bathroom/shower and separate toilet were small but modern and clean. The breakfast was great. Overall great value.

I needed to do some work in the hotel room at the desk and found the lighting could have been better.

The position was perfect, near both the train station and the city center. Breakfast was very good and varied.

The bathroom was quite new but really small and the shower had no real tray with just a curtain. It was well designed so the floor didn't get wet but I find it a little uncomfortable.

The hotel was located between the Metz train station and the center of town (about a 10 minute walk from the former, 15-20 minutes to the latter). The hotel building is older so I believe a good value (vs. staying closer to the city center). It is located near a circle so I had a nice view of the lights and beautiful buildings across the way. My room was on the 4th floor so I used the elevator quite a bit. It came quickly and was surprisingly fast (see note below regarding dropping off keys).Just a few notes: The reception is located on the first floor and to get to the elevator, you do need to carry your luggage up a few steps. You need to drop off your key and pick it up from the reception upon return (they are very heavy). They do have staff available 24/7.They didn’t allow for early check-in though very kindly stored my bag near the reception area.

The building was older though seemed well maintained. The elevator could use a new floor mat.

The staff were super friendly and the room was excellent value for the price. Everyone made us feel welcome and at home. Also the breakfast was lovely. Would definitely stay here again in the future.

Obviously the hotel could use some refurbishing as other reviews have stated. But for us that wasn't a deal breaker since we were looking for a hotel on a budget.

The location is convenient, within walking distance of the train station, and of the centre of Metz. Clement made check in easy, and was very friendly, with the check out process being smooth also. My room was good value for money, as it had a comfy bed, a good shower, and the TV a good range of channels.

I couldn’t get the WiFi to work.

Very central, friendly staff, compact, rooms are small but comfortable with tea/coffee facilities (very important!), good breakfast. Clean.

Scrambled eggs. Reconstituted stuff; not nice.

    Not great but clean and...

Room very small. Wardrobe not very sturdy, wobbled when you opened the door. Smallest bathroom ever. Shower curtain stuck to you when you showered. Water pressure poor in the shower.

Quick and easy check in, nice staff, absolutely perfect location for a quick overnight stay on a city trip

Great position close to the railway station, at walking distante from the city center, room are clean and modern, breakfast is good, personnel is nice, recommended.

Quick booking on the road...parking next to the hotel..no worries and asleep in minutes!

    Old hotel..but clean...stairs...elevator available.

The reception staff was very cooperative. The place is nice and cozy, and clean. All the amenities were available and clean. The location of the hotel is very near the main Metz station, so commuting is very easy. There are a lot of restaurants and grocery stores nearby. Also to mention, the view is really nice.

The only issue I had was that they didn't have blankets.

Enjoyed the lovely Mondon and it's location was handy to the Metro and within walking distance to plenty of restaurants and down the Seine & sites. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Expected tiny and got it : ) It was totally fine for my stay. I liked the decor and finishings within the room. It was clean and comfy.

A standard hotel: we had a small room that looked a bit ‘tired’, the staff was quite indifferent, parking was in a public parking at a beneficial rate and 10 min. walking from the hotel), but the room was clean, the situation excellent (view on a beautiful circle), the location very good (close to the center) and the breakfast was outstanding. All in all good to visit this beautiful city!

    8AlanPosted on: 10-6-2025

Super friendly staff....they guy on duty when I arrived and the lady on reception when I left were great., They were good at accommodating me for an extra day. Good breakfast, and hotel is a great location for station, and a a shortish walk to the centre of Metz.

Room was a tiny bit dark, even with all lights on
