Mare Blue Hotel

Breakfast - great selection, simple, but lots of hot & cold choices.The bedroom was lovely - clean, fresh, and a combination of modern and traditional. (new furniture/bathroom but old closet). The views are lovely.

We travelled mid October and there was no blankets in the room. This could have been provided as it is a little chilly early mornings.

· Location is great. The hotel is located on the beach and you can reach the sea in 5 minutes from you room.Room: being a family with 2 kids we have rented a family apartment (2 rooms and a shared bathroom) - which was perfect. It had a huge loge and the sea could be seen on the windows. The beds where comfortable with conditional air, one fridge, TV-s and nothing in addition you could want.Food: our booking was in "all inclusive" mode - so we have enjoyed 3 meals/day. The food was more than enough for all tastes. You could find all type of food and in sufficient quantities and each one can choose how much and what to eat. For sure much more food than you have at home :)Fun: aquatic park - very nice for small kids. The swimming pool - huge enough and with young people to animate the activities and bring more fun to the guests of the hotel.The beach has not sand but small stones - you can walk without dedicated shoes. And it was great that after a bath in the sea to lay down on the beach to be warm by the sun.The hotel representative: GREAT! we have been invites for a meeting with a hotel manager and we have spent a delightful 1 hour. Having a rented car, we have received recommendations for trips and visits in the east of the island. Great tips and ideas and we have appreciated the explanations and the ideas considering that some of the information could not be necessary be found on the internet.Disliked · I have nothing to complain about. Just to copy a piece of advice received and which represent also what I consider: in case you look something to complain, than you can probably find something; but if you find one or more things you like if you focus on them, than the positive aspects overtakes and overshine everything else.

Staff: Generally friendly and helpful; the morning manager was outstanding.Room: the family room was nice and spacious. Beach: lovely, though not ideal for small children due to strong rip currents.Kids Club: great service, with multilingual support.

Dining Experience: there is only 1 restaurant for the whole resort. The buffet layout caused crowding and confusion. Guests often rushed to food as it was replenished, which could be avoided with better station setup and flow. The food did not reflect a 5 star hotel: many dishes didn't taste good. Coffee: breakfast coffee was poor quality and not what you'd expect at this level.Smoking Policy: smoking is allowed almost everywhere outdoors, including terraces and bars. A designated area would greatly improve comfort for non-smokers. One evening show (in German) was effectively unwatchable due to thick smoke in the outdoor terrace area.Beach Facilities: umbrellas and sunbeds are old and worn. Simply updating them would give the entire resort a much-needed visual and functional upgrade.Cleanliness & Guest Conduct: there were frequent issues with littering, particularly on the beach. Some guests showed little regard for shared spaces or the environment, which detracted from the overall experience. While it’s understandable that people come from a variety of backgrounds, the wide gap in expectations and behavior among guests made the atmosphere feel less cohesive and less premium than what you’d expect at this price point.Entertainment: all amphitheater shows were in French, which felt very alienating for non-French-speaking guests!

The worst experience I ever had .The room was not clean The place should have 2-3 stars .I done know how they got 5 stars !!The food was horrible and cheap .The manager was so rude .I don’t know how they are still in business.

We had a great stay at Mare Blue Hotel! I especially want to highlight the incredible help from the hotel’s guest relations manager, Stephanos. When my son hurt his toe, Stephanos immediately called a doctor and even followed us to the clinic just across the road. He stayed with us until the doctor arrived and was incredibly friendly and supportive throughout. His kindness truly made a difference.The hotel staff overall are also very friendly and helpful. The hotel has its own private beach with crystal clear water just next to the hotel – a perfect place to relax.The food was varied and the French animation team added a fun and lively atmosphere to the stay. We truly appreciated the warm hospitality and would definitely recommend Mare Blue to others.

It can be a bit windy at times, but otherwise the beach is beautiful.

The staff were really polite and friendly - there was a relaxed atmosphere about the hotel. You could see that it was really well maintained and very clean as the staff were readily available throughout the day. Beautiful surroundings, great facilities. Everything super clean, comfortable rooms and a great view from the balcony in sea view rooms. The hotel has its own beach with sun-beds and umbrellas as well as swimming pools. Sunbeds and umbrellas available at all times. On the beach there are different water sports available. The food was excellent all around. Lots of choices in the buffet restaurant. All-inclusive program is top-notch (with high quality food and drinks all included in the price)

SMOKING every place, on the beach, on the balcony, on the evening at piano bar. What can do people who is not smoking. We paid the same money. I think the management need to think about this and try to accommodate not smoking tourist to. This resort have a lot of potential to do this: separate the room on the building(left side not smoking right for smoking) - just example, same the beach area and the bar.

The hotel has a lot of potential, we stayed in the refurbished rooms and they were nice. My son loved the mini golf The water/beach is one of our favorites Food for all inclusive had a lot of choices (salads could do with a bit more variety) but all in all it was good

Hotel still needs a lot of work New room but they have kept some of the old furniture Spa staff (they are not part of the hotel but very rude they spoiled the work of the rest of the staff that were so polite and friendly)

The sea it was really nice.

Hotel is not 5 star hotel. Really run down, old School and screaming for refurbishment definetly not 5 star hotel and service. Room was okay but really old fasion and not practical,not enough connector to charge you phone or your laptop etc. Air condition is not working properly and if you dont have a spare key there is no electrixity once you left the room. WiFi connection was terrible. Food was okay but again it was not 5 star service. The bar and drinks was limited and not much option for coctails. Staffs were okay and nice but not everyone. We didnt really get a nice welcoming when we arrived, no information about what we can do where we can go etc. We have to find out by ourself which is okay but not when you are staying+paying at 5 star hotel service. We did enjoy our time at Crete and we will definetly go back but we won't stay at this hotel again.

Really nice hotel with private beach and 2 pools. Good selection of food and drinks. Entertainment/Animation was mainly for kids, but we stayed in May, so hopefully during summer it is better,

I was asked to fill in online form to speed up check in, but on arrival I had to fill out paper version again.

The room view was really fantastic.

The hotel Is very old, everything testifies a glorious past, but everything is clean.

The hotel is right in the beach, the sea was incredible, very clean water. The food in the restaurant is very delicious, full of different types of dishes and deserts.

Great location with a truly low price. All inclusive, with tasty food and amazing restaurant staff. I have enjoyed also Mini Club and Animation staff. The place was exceptional, with beautiful beach just a few step from our room. Our children (3 and 5 years) loved this holiday!

when you leave room, electricity is off, so you can not charge your devices while you are at restaurant or at beach, you can not chill your room while you are away and return to cold room and be there without aircon turned on, because aircon is powered from room. this could be 5 star in '70, but now expectations are far different as just repainting it.

It was a child friendly hotel, kids pool were great, the food was fabulous and the restaurant service was good and ran well.

The beds and pillows were not comfortable, need pillow options and better mattresses to make it a more comfortable sleep.

We had a wonderful time at Sunshine Crete! We loved it! Everything was perfect: the room with an amazing view, the staff, caring and highly professional, something you will experience in the whole island, the buffet was delicious, we enjoyed every meal. They had something for all and our child ate a lot :) Good entertainment team, the pool was very nice and the beach was the best one we've had on Vacations until now! So clean water! Almost unrealistic, perfect for snorkeling. And these little stones in all colors are so beautiful. The hotel is located in a quiet area but there are supermarkets and restaurants and other services around it. We'll definitely come back and will hopefully be able to stay longer the next time.

Very well organized, very polite staff and very good facilities. The price was also very good.
