    • We had travelled to Leh on a sudden whim! And in the brief planning period The Indus Valley seems to be our best option. One, proximity to the marketTwo, pictorially very niceThree, good reviews...... so we bookedFour, very responsive call back from the hotel for information and suggested supportWith much trepidation (as some of the previous experiences on Booking.com listings weren't up to the mark) when we reached, we found this to be totally something that you would want to bet your booking on! A very warm welcome - a warm room (they keep the heater on 24/7 in winters) at -8 degrees, and a very clean and well appointed room. We opted for a double room with balcony - and it was just right, if you wanted to feel the crisp freeze after some time in the warm room!As it was peak of winter, there weren't many guests - but that did not even once stop the efficient housekeeping or the kitchen to respond in real quick time. After reading many reviews about slow service and very slow catering on orders - we, even for once, did not have to call back a second time for anything with either guest services sections. The hotel arranged for us a short tour to some of the places of interest - and were very careful in selecting for us what would be ideal for our short-stay - keeping in mind the need for acclimatization. Food was alright - we just had dinner, as we were out mostly in the market and on a day tour. While slightly expensive - it is not outlandish, understanding that in winter the logistics of supply is not easy. Breakfast was sumptuous - no questions asked!Overall, it was a great on the spur decision to pick The Indus Valley - no complaints....only kudos....Thanks guys for making our stay really really worthwhile!

    Staff, location,good food.

Quality of equipment, not well maintained. Not serving alcohol.

Locks to room did not work. Some construction noise which continued in afternoon and night. was not given change of rooms on first night, though they had vacant rooms. Next day change meant a lot of inconvenience

Noisy and bad locks not working. Food was monotonous but well made. Staff at reception and dining hall very good and cooperative

Memorable trip.Everything about the trip was superb.Mind you we went in second week of March 2023 and 80% leh was shut. The hotel itself had very few bookings coz of off season.Yet the hotel made extra efforts and made us super comfortable. Special mention for Mr Stanzin Sonam and wonder woman Ms Tani who can take care of anything that guests ever needed. We had a family/ deluxe double twin room.Spacious comfortable and a beautiful view.Since very few guests we were offered Ala carte instead of buffet.Delicious and lip smacking breakfast.I highly recommend a stay there. We stayed for 5 nights and 6 days.

Maybe since it was off season the skeleton staff at the restaurant had to run around a lot and that at times led to a slight delay in service. But I didn't mind that also as I could see they were trying their best to make us comfortable.

I take this opportunity to thank the TIV team for the hospitality extended to me during my stay. The TIV team lead by Mr. Gaurav ensured that I was comfortable and took care of all my requests with a receptive and welcoming approach. Mr. Gaurav is not a typical "Manager" but a true "Leader" I saw him interacting with all guests and extending his support. The restaurant staff also were exceptional in their hospitality,  a special thanks to Carien and Yangchen. Please keep up the great job!. Leh need this kind of top notch hospitality services to invite tourists.Thank you once again.Best Regards,Charles Bruno

Internet was a problem, however it is beyond TIVs control.

    restaurant and attitude of staff.

room up keep and noise due to construction at hotel.

    6MilanPosted on: 7-24-2022

Breakfast was excellent though room service was inadequate.

There should be more options for room service orders when it is not available in the dining area.

    8ChaitanyaPosted on: 7-23-2022

The rooms are very comfortable, so are the beds. The quality of the food is excellent. The sight-seeing guidance we received and the travel arrangements made were very good as well.

WiFi was poor, both in consistency & speed (was very patchy). The hot / cold water management system in the bathrooms needs help as suddenly the water would go from really hot to really cold at the same setting. The room service quality leaves a lot to be desired.

    5VinishPosted on: 7-5-2022

Food was the only good factor.

The rooms were not clean, and they were dirty when we checked in, and still, it took them an hour and a half to clean that too after several reminders. The bathroom shower cubicle did not have a seal under the glass door, and water just gushed out. The bathroom was wet until we were there, and it never got fixed. The lobby had a leaking ceiling, and it was a mess.Internet is another issue on the 3rd floor that does not work. Air conditioning is a big issue here in the middle of the night, the AC shuts down, and they have to reset it constantly. The reservation number mentioned on the hotel website keeps ringing and is never picked. When the hotel says all rooms are nonsmoking, please don't believe it. There was a group of guys next door, and they were smoking with their room doors open, and I could feel the smoke and noise coming into our room in the middle of the night, even after several reminders about the noise issue. I had to leave my bed at 2:30 am and request them to keep the noise down.Overall, the experience was not that great, especially when you are paying the price of 5-star hotel. However, I liked the front office staff, who understood my frustration and offered us a complimentary dinner.

property was neat and clean with proximity to main market. Also the staff was very hepful. Special mention for Shashi as he helped us with all the trip planning along with required arrangements. He was very polite and made our stay wonderful. Cheers to Shashi!

    2NishchalPosted on: 5-4-2022

    Bed was acceptable

Room was not available for a long time after checking in. Then we were given the key to a room which hadn't been cleaned at all. Hotel doors were noisy throughout the day disturbing our sleep.Hotel located in an unlit area which felt unsafe at night.Based on the price paid for the room, the stay was very unsatisfactory.Restaurant food also had extortionate prices and tasted odd.

    1SasPosted on: 11-7-2021

    Food available was good

Our bags took about 20 mins to be brought to the room. While waiting for our bags the house keeping staff were having an argument in the lobby. The room with balcony is very small. Bathroom towel was torn. Half the items on the menu in the restaurant was not available. For breakfast only 2 people were there to serve and when we asked the waitress if we could have some fresh juice since the one at the juice counter was empty we were told we need to ask the Chef. After nearly asking for 3-4 times we got a cup of tea. The last straw was on the day of check out we called the reception and asked if we could check out at 1 the reply we got was that our check out was at 10 which clearly doesn’t mention on our reservation as it states check out at 12 and plus she started telling us about guests waiting since 7 which is not our problem. Over all it was a very bad experience and no value for money.

Location and staff were very good. It was so near to Leh Market. And it has good room service.

Heater was not available and breakfast was limited. Price was high

    1ParasPosted on: 9-21-2021

Location is worst... its in a conjusted area only a car can pass... and the breakfast was not so good... we left the breakfast in between..

The room was not at all sound proof... indus valley was on construction and we couldn't even sleep properly.. they started banging hammer early morning and non of the staff helped us... they charged 15k rs for a small room and it says its a five star hotel but we felt like a 2 star hotel. Anybody in this world book the hotel to sleep or rest but these people dint let us sleep coz of their loud construction and the staff were to clever they just want to make money by giving things in black sale..
