Central location. Restaurant associated. Refurbished rooms.

The hotel reception staff were extremely polite and very attentive in assisting us. Housekeeping team and breakfast staff also very available. The location is very convenient.

Everything went well.

Clean, comfortable and convenient with reserved on street parking directly in front of the hotel. Large room with view of the tree lined street, large modern bathroom, really great breakfast, comfortable bed, all around a great choice, glad I stayed there, would stay there again. Highly recommended.

The staff were extremely helpful and caring. We needed an extra day and they took great effort to accommodate.

The staff was incredibly “gentile”, we traveled in the middle of “ferroagosto” and they went out of their way to help us find a restaurant that would be open. The breakfast and caffe latte were delicious. Pavia was at the end of our walking trip in the Vía Francigena and they were the only place in Pavia to be able to give us the “timbro”?

The only Issue we had was with the air conditioner that was making some noise and they took care of that immediately.

The hotel is located right across from the train station, so it's very easy to reach. The staff were uniformly helpful and pleasant. The breakfast buffet had a good assortment of pastries, cold cuts, yogurts, and fruits. We had a special room with a balcony. The towels were outstanding!

The mattress was a bit lumpy, and the air conditioning (if it went on, which wasn't clear) was not very effective.

Staff were very friendly and helpful when I needed to book dinner reservations. Great location, nice breakfast as well.

The room was quite warm even though I was there in April. Thankfully the window would open. But the AC wasn't blowing cold air - I think it was a just a fan.

I like the room with balcony. I like the old guy in the front desk with blue suit, he is very very polite and caring. He is professional. He seems like a leader. When I check in, there is an old lady help me to get my luggage from my car and put in my room. She is very patient and friendly. I like the lady in the restaurant, she members what I like.

1. I don’t like the young guy with short hair I meet during check in. He should be more polite. 2. I don’t like the lady with white shirt when I check out. I asked her to help me to put my luggage in the car. She said they don’t help to put in the car, they only help to take from the room to the front desk, and this is not normal in Italy. I insist, the she find a lady to help me. I write my company name on the paper. But she print the invoice with a wrong name of my company. I asked her to reprint. She said it’s your third invoice. Omg!!!! I waste my time to wait for her to re print with patience. But she is not patient at all. She is not professional at all. She print the wrong company in the invoice and say it’s Italy way to write. OMG!!!! No matter what the way is, the company name should be correct. She did the wrong thing but she is not sorry at all. this is really ridiculous, shame of the hotel.

Morning busses and trains a little noisy

Good breakfast. Very clean and new-interior rooms. Good location.

Little bit pricey considering the overall services.

Conveniently close to the railway station and only a short walk to the centre. I had a comfortable, attractively decorated suite with a sofa in a small secondary area with a second TV and coffee/tea making facilities which was very nice for resting after lots of walking. There is also a relaxing ground floor reception area with sofas and a bar. The in-house restaurant is pleasant with unpretentious food and the staff are attentive and helpful.

By no means a minus point but I should have allowed a bit of time for working out which switches and controls operated what in which room and prevent the second TV, which had a mind of its own, turning itself back on just as you have settled under the covers…

Friendly staff, good breakfast, decent room, available parking

Advertised as air conditioning, but already turned off for the season. It was warm and the option was to open the window. Mosquitoes were everywhere

Big room but bizarre layout. Needs an update, some mould in edges of shower.

The superb staff who were helpful, kind, and knowledgeable. They were like family.

We had a very pleasant stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and there was a good breakfast. The site is very well located for restaurants and shops.

Maybe that breakfast started at 6 and we couldn’t get anything to take at 545 when we had to leave

Convient ro the central station, Hotel Modernohas a fine restaurant and is very comfortable.

The hotel is located opposite the main train station. Our room was small but comfortable with drawers and clothes hanging spaces with coat hangers; kettle with drinks sachets; TV, safe, fridge stocked with payable drinks and snacks; bathroom with shower and plenty of towels; air con and an opening window. Breakfast was self service cold meats, cheeses, rolls, croissants, cereals, fruits, yogurts, American pancakes with a variety of spreads - coffee, scrambled eggs and toast was ordered through the waitress. There is a bar with seating and any drinks ordered were accompanied with a variety of snacks. The hotel has some great artwork! The hotel is situated about a 10min walk from Piazza della Vittoria which is the main square by the cathedral - numerous cafes and restaurants, great for relaxing and watching Italian life and very lively at night. To finish I would say the hotel staff are friendly and very helpful - Elena, a receptionist, booked a hairdresser appointment for me; another gentleman (whose name I didn't get) recommended and booked an excellent restaurant which met all our needs and requirements (2 dogs, 2 young children, 8 adults). I would thoroughly recommend a stay at Hotel Moderno.

Our room was on the small side but as we were not in it much it didn't really matter to us.

The hotel’s location was perfect, within walking distance of all the major attractions and great restaurants. Being situated right in the heart of downtown, the hotel's location made it easy for us to explore the city. The hotel is ideally located, offering convenient access to public transportation and popular tourist spots."
