    • Overall, Altezza Arc 1800 is a solid 4-star hotel and largely meets expectations for its category. Rooms are comfortable and functional, and the food offering is one of the hotel’s strengths. We booked half board (breakfast and dinner included), which is worth highlighting — there was a good variety of food and the quality was consistently good without feeling repetitive. There is no lunch service in the hotel, but around 3 pm the bar offers snacks such as crepes and light bites, which is convenient after skiing, even though it is not possible to have a proper lunch or soup during the day.The spa area (pool/sauna/jacuzzi) is a definite plus, especially after a day on the slopes. We personally did not use the jacuzzi, but family members mentioned it was usually quite busy. The views from the hotel’s common areas are absolutely stunning and a real highlight of the stay.Staff are generally friendly and try to be helpful. We also stayed during one of the busiest weeks of the year, the New Year period, so we were aware the hotel was operating at full capacity.
    • Lovely relaxing experience, great facilities and exceptional views of the valley. Staff were extremely helpful and breakfast was great. Spa was good and we used this a lot. We will come back for a ski week... Thank you! Oh and thank you for the water bottles!

    Cons -

    • Overall organization and communication could be improved. Email responses before and during the stay were often slow, and for practical matters (such as parking) calling the hotel directly was the most effective option. Upon arrival, parking instructions were unclear, and the assigned space was not available, which made the arrival experience unnecessarily stressful.During a fully booked week, dinner seating can be challenging. If you are travelling with a larger group and want to sit together in the main restaurant, it is strongly recommended to reserve a table in advance, as seating is split between the restaurant and a lobby/bar area.We experienced several operational issues, including housekeeping leaving balcony doors open (resulting in very cold rooms) and billing inconsistencies at dinner and check-out that required follow-up. Additionally, one of the two coffee machines at breakfast broke down mid-stay, leading to long queues, which was inconvenient given peak occupancy and somewhat surprising that the issue could not be resolved more quickly. To be fair, the hotel did acknowledge the inconveniences and offered a goodwill gesture, which was appreciated. These points are mentioned honestly as they did affect the overall experience.Location-wise, it is important to note that the hotel is located at the edge of Arc 1800. The hotel does offer ski-in access, but when snow conditions are not ideal — which was the case during our stay — the ski-in route is not straightforward and can be quite challenging. Access is less obvious and convenient than it may appear in descriptions. Ski-out is not immediate: you can walk a few minutes, put on skis and head towards Peisey, but if you want direct access to Les Arcs slopes, you still need to walk uphill for a few minutes to the nearest lift (Charmettoger). If you plan to take ski lessons, most schools meet in the village center, which requires a 10–15 minute walk — not ideal, especially with children.
    • Nothing to dislike

Great mountain views, fun climbing wall at reception. Pool is good but can get very busy. Rooms nice and comfortable.

A bit of style over substance. The buffet can get crazy busy, food hit and miss.

    9BreffniPosted on: 4-12-2025

Staff were wonderful at this hotel, went above and beyond in the restaurant & bar. The buffet breakfast was perfect and we dined in the evening restaurant several times. We enjoyed the dishes they served. Our son loved the climbing wall in reception, such a unique and novel idea for busy children! The pool and spa area was lovely, the outdoor hot tub in particular and it was good to have one inside as well for when the other was busy. The beds were very comfortable and we had a lovely big spacious room for our family. We will definitely be back.

Check in time is quite late considering you have to pay for the full day. It would also be lovely to have some alternative food option in the evening outside of the full set menu meal, even a limited room service menu.

The location is great for ski-in, ski-out access, and the spa area is lovely—perfect for relaxing after a day on the slopes. The hotel can provide walking map to access different lifts as it is not clear how to walk to lifts and come back via different ways to level 1. The staff is helpful in explaining however to me I needed a map to follow , it would be clearer . Also, we ran into a small issue with the TV, which wasn’t connected to the internet. We asked for assistance but unfortunately, no one came, so we weren’t able to watch Netflix or mirror our iPad during our stay. This isn’t a criticism of the hotel itself, but just a heads-up for future guests: we didn’t realize that parking in the Les Arcs area comes with a charge of €22 per day. We ended up paying €30 per day through the hotel, which was mentioned on the website, but I had hoped we might be able to park elsewhere and avoid the fee. That wasn’t possible—so just be aware of the extra parking costs in the area.

Great breakfast choice, lovely pool and friendly staff

    7ManishaPosted on: 3-6-2025

The Altezza lives up to its 4 star reputation. Rooms were comfortable, lots of food choice and food quite good/not repetitive. The pool/sauna/jacuzzi were great, ping pong, billiards and fuzzball tables (although felt it was bit odd that they charged 1 euro to play a game), and rock climbing wall at entrance was fun. They don't do lunch, but the kids enjoyed the crepes at snack time.

The few negative points are probably due to the hotel being full the week we went. Service for drinks at restaurant could be slow, the room took a long time to be ready the first day, and housekeeping seemed a bit rushed on certain days. The hotel is definitely NOT ski out - you have to walk a short distance, slightly uphill to the closest ski lift (Chamettoger). "Technically," you could ski out to a different set of lifts, but that also involves an uphill walk to get to the right slope. While you could ski in, it is a tricky entrance - so hard for beginners. If you're taking ski/snowboard classes, check where they start. If they start at Villard/Transarc ski lift, that is a good 10-minute walk from the hotel - not ideal with littles. Or you have to go up Chamettoger ski lift and ski over to start of class...but not sure how you'd do that in time for start of morning class.

for the money, it was very poor value. this was one of the busiest weeks of the year so there are no bargains but even considering this, it was expensive

the evening buffet for 45 euros is off the scale bad. Cold food, empty serving dishes and the system of having two sittings only leads to periods where the rush for food was like a rugby scrum - all for 45 euros.

Staff went the extra mile - running down to tell the kitchen when we arrived late and hadnt eaten.

That we only stayed one night so didn’t get a chance to use the pool

The room was large and the view from our room was incredible. The ski in / ski out was amazing, very convenient and next to a lift that was not busy which was a huge benefit.

The breakfast was disorganised, on most days food had run out and took at least 20 mins to replace despite breakfast running for hours. There was no food available during the day whatsoever and no room service. We had a snow storm during our stay which meant I had to stay in the hotel for the day with my one year old. As the hotel as at the edge of town, walking outside was not an option for me with the baby or a pram for safety reasons, and I was told there was no food whilst the rest of our party were out elsewhere. After a long discussion with reception someone eventually found me some stale leftover breakfast for lunch which was appalling to be honest. The pool was cold, very unpleasant to get into, which is OK if you are just adults and can use the hot tub but far too cold for children, out little boys lips went blue nearly instantly! Also, the spa only opens at 10am and the gym is located in the spa so you cannot go to the gym if you get up early which seems crazy as I wanted to go before skiing but this was not an option. We arranged a massage during our stay and the lady was not a masseus, it was an expensive massage (all four of us had one), and everyone was disappointed. I had an issue with my shoulder and the lady said I had no issues at all and seemed to gently stroke my skin for an hour, not quite the deep tissue massage I expected. I did tell the lady when she asked how it was, and she said there was someone better in on Friday if I wanted to book another one with her, surprisingly I passed! On one morning we thought it would be nice to have a slow morning and use the steam room and sauna and pool before getting into our day, we went down to the pool area for 10am and nothing was turned on and we were informed that it takes at least 30 mins, maybe an hour for the steam room and sauna to heat up, which was a complete waste of a morning.

Pool & Spa facilities, dinner, breakfast, staff everything was good.

7-8 adult time area bit should be managed. As sometimes children running around in the evening. Jumping in pool etc.

    8CarriePosted on: 1-6-2025

Staff were friendly, design of the hotel, rooms and bar were modern, comfortable and cosy, breakfast (especially the omelette station) and cocktails were great. Great location close to the Charmetogger lift. Beautiful views down the valley from the rooms.

When the hotel is full, there isn’t enough space in the dining room for everyone, so you either have to eat late (after 8.15pm) or sit in the overflow area next to the bar which doesn’t have the same ambience. The staff are also then run off their feet trying to cover both areas and the whole experience just feels a bit stressful. It wasn’t like this every night but the hotel needs to find a way so that everyone can eat when they want (perhaps starting dining at 6:30pm) or offering a different more casual menu (e.g. burgers, pasta, pizza) in the downstairs dining area.

Food was very good. Lovely location.

Where do I start….The hotel rips you off. They do not honour their pricing for half board. The reception manager is very rude and lies. He said there was advertising all around the hotel but for New Year’s Eve dinner it was an extra €120 per person. He had no proof of this. There was no communication of this. It was not in the policies and a group of us were talking about it and we were disgusted that they were trying to rip us off even though we had paid for half board for that period of time. We also had confirmation via emails of the price per person and they would not honour it so now we have to raise it with head office to get a refund because we couldn’t hang around as we had to leave. They also charge a huge deposit- this is not in any policies or documents. I even called up to confirm the prices and I called to confirm parking and I got emails to confirm parking but when we arrived, there was no parking available for us Yet they still try to charge us at the end of our stay. Our bed wasn’t made up. There was not enough linen or towels. We had no robes for the spa, but other guests did. We were told we could arrive in the morning and the room might be ready at 3pm and if our room wasn’t ready, then we would be able to store our luggage in their secure room, but when we arrived, there was no space and we were told to leave it in the lobby which was totally unacceptable as no one was watching it. We were then told our room will not be ready until after 7 pm then we were told we could collect our ski hire equipment, but when we went to collect it, it was closed for an hour and a half.Luckily, we have a lot of emails for confirmation of prices, so we will have to go back to head office to challenge them. Most of the staff are lovely but communication between the restaurant and the reception is non-existent. Broken window, never fixed but reported three times. So room very hot.Broken lift. Flooring needs cleaning

    3JoannaPosted on: 1-3-2025

Hotel room was nice. Food very good. Christophe the restaurant manager was superb and very good at sorting out any issues.

We were over charged as the hotel did NOT honour their half board price of €40 per night per person. Tried to charge us an extra €120 each for dinner even though we had an email confirming the price per adult. Another British couple also had the same issue on arrival - they could not get their hotel key until they paid extra for the children which they were never told about. We reserved parking but when we got there, there was no parking and the parking there is very difficult then they tried to charge us when we had to park outside the hotel. Rooms not ready until 7pm but we managed to get ours at 6pm and one earlier so we could put our luggage in it but our double bed was not made up, not enough towels or pillows so we made it up ourselves. No room to put our luggage in even though we were told they would put it in their luggage room so we could go ski earlier. They said leave it in the reception area but we had expensive stuff in our bags so that was not acceptable but we did manage to get a room earlier after nearly 2 hours in the lobby. They charged us €4100 as a deposit even though we had paid in full for both rooms and half board. This is not in any of their policies. Other customers were also shocked as they weren’t told.We now to have challenge the company and get a refund for being overcharged. We have proof. There was also a French customer challenging them as they were over charging him too and he came to talk to me to say how disgusted he was with the hotel and that there was no communication over being charged so much more money for dinner etc. And no one was told! It’s a real shame as the hotel is lovely and a great location for skiing. Most of the staff were lovely especially Christophe and the reception lady who also sang on news eve. The front desk manager is rude and complained that we got him out of bed when we challenged the bill.Luckily we have written confirmation from the hotel and proof of the over charging.

Wonderful hotel with lovely staff and facilities. Loved the spa facilities after a long day on the slopes.

There is not much to fault here, we will be back and really enjoyed our stay. At times during breakfast they ran out of certain items, check in at 5pm is very late, especially as you have to check out at 10am.
