Pros +
- La Cachette offers a nice balance of comfort, wellness and good hospitality !! The rooms are comfortable. The location is great especially if you have kids at the ski school. The food is very good which is helpful since there are a few restaurants to eat out at. Les Arcs 1600 is super super tiny village. The spa is nice and the treatments are good too.
- Excellent location for ski in and ski out- especially with small children.
- Rooms are well renovated, nice style. Buffet breakfast has good variety, helpful staff, coffee is really good.
Cons -
- We felt activities beyond the basic services was not available that usually make a ski trip family a bit more fun. For example, no after ski goute on the terrace with music. The hotel has a lively terrace and it was always empty. It’s a great space to invite guests to something extra fun to do. The hotel offers a great lunch but again it was always empty and quiet. It’s nice to be in a hotel that has a bit more social vibes, especially when you are traveling with kids. They do offer board games which is great for after dinner.
- Small rooms. Not extra amenities (swimming pool for the kids… kid room… kid friendly food at breakfast).
- Even if the room has new bed, it is not comfortable.

Loved everything. From the moment you walk in you are warmly greeted. This hotel is in the best location to restaurant and delicious bakeries. The spa services are excellent. The activities for children around the hotel are exceptional. The beds are very comfortable. I will definitely return.
There was nothing negative about this hotel
very nice and comfortable. clean and friendly staff. close to the lifts and the shuttle. the hot tub and sauna are great
Spacious room, very comfortable for skiing as a family of 4 adults. Lovely spa. Food choices were good and plentiful.
Some noise from the street below our room
The Location could not be better within a structure that extends to numerous shops, restaurants, ski hire etc. Right next to slopes and three lifts. The building is of architectural interest. The rooms towards luxury and interesting in design. Bit like 'Rocky pop' if you know them. The communal areas are large and comfortable. The breakfast really varied and exceptional. Parking is free. Staff are really helpful. I did not eat in the evening. On the back of giving two one star reviews for pretentious uk small plates restaurants l am really pleased to give positive feedback!!
La Chacette is a great choice for a ski getaway, conveniently located just minutes from the slopes. The ski shop connected to the hotel makes renting equipment hassle-free, and with the ski pass collection nearby, everything is set up for a smooth skiing experience. The rooms are spacious, with beautiful views from the balcony, adding to the overall comfort of the stay. The spa is a highlight, especially the outdoor hot tub and sauna, perfect for relaxing after a day on the slopes. Breakfast is also excellent, offering a great buffet selection to start the day right.Overall, despite the service issues, we had a great stay and would return!
The service could be improved. Staff were not always helpful and often needed management to make decisions. We were also charged for a late check-out (only two hours), despite the fact that no one appeared to be booked in after us.
Perfect location, great facilities and amazing choices for buffet breakfast and dinner. Evening staff were great.
There seemed to be a bit of tension amongst the staff, more so on the breakfast/morning team which was noticed by a few families staying at the property making things a little uncomfortable for guests. There also seemed to be some conflict in terms of the late check out policy. Although advertised, we were told it wasn’t possible in February. We later got told all the late check outs were booked.
The hotel staff was very positive and polite. It is very nice to have a spa area, hot pool and sauna. Breakfast and dinner were sufficient. My only negative opinion about the hotel is that the rooms are very small and the room heaters are inadequate. A useless room for a ski hotel.
Odd but interesting hotel in rather love-it-or-hate it 60s (?) style. Comfortable bed. Quiet. Accommodating staff.
Rather overrun by families when I went. Dinner canteen - appropriately, perhaps- lacks any sophistication.
The location was great for the slopes, and the room was big and clean. Staff were fantastic and nothing was too much trouble. Having the spa included in the room price was a bonus and helped relieve the muscles after a long day riding. Breakfast was excellent, full hot selection and cold. Would definitely recommend it.
Nothing really, 1600 is a bit quieter than some of the other areas at Les Arcs, but you can easily get a bus or taxi to the other areas if you want.
Perfect position for the slopes, friendly staff, great food and for a party of 16 it was fantastic. Highly recommended.
The heating was slightly too warm.
Lovely hotel, perfect for ski vacation, located literally on the slope. Everything is at couple of steps distance just outside of the hotel'ski room: the ski lift, ski school, ski rental, shops, après-ski bars. The rooms nice and clean, super nice and helpful staff, nice (almost gourmet) buffet dinner. The meals are fresh, diverse and somethings for everyone...we had a lovely fish evening with oysters and nice selection of see food. The spa with hot-tub was a blessing after a ski day. For new comers, les Arcs 1600 is a very small village, in an authentic french style, very cosy and few but nice shops and everything you need for ski at literally couple steps distance. The ski experience in Les Arcs , just amazing for us, as not quite beginners :). Indeed it might be a bit challenging for families with small kids or for beginners, while for us it was just perfect. The hotel does not have a parking, and best of luck to find a free parking spot on the ski season...however they have offered options for a private parking. It was a very good and not pricey option. We would definitely go back in les Arcs and La Cachette.
Although is not the property fault, we did not like:- the fact that they have requested a deposit on check in...we are used to register the card, but it would have been nice to be announced in advance about this practice. And then at 2 working days after check out, the deposit is not released...not a big story but good to know to be prepared. - the entrance in the hotel is via a lift into an apartments property (probably their as well)....with not a hotel like entrance....for a first timer is confusing on where to go and can get biased. Nevertheless once we found our way, the hotel is very nice with a good quality price offer. - definitively not the hotel to blame...unfortunately some group of tourists very noisy and not polite on the spa area and over dinner...of course they want to enjoy their vacation as so do we...human nature unfortunately.
The food was brilliant. Even though it is buffet style it is fresh, warm and different every evening. The rooms were warm and comfortable. The spa was clean and relaxing.
The bar was expensive, the bar below the hotel was much cheaper for a round.
Breakfast fulfilled my expectations.Big roomsComfortable beds
The hotel and the rooms should be heated more. I found the rooms too cool for myselfThe staff at the restaurant could be more friendly. Their attitude is not always very warm.
Proximity to skiing and availability of all necessary facilities. Ski resort area in general.
Pillows quality, shower door non-waterproof.
It’s a 5-8 minutes walk from the funicular station at 1600m and 2 minutes walk to the Combettes chairlift. It’s been completely renovated and the facilities look brand new and very clean. Breakfast and dinner have a variety of choices with fresh local produce.
The food at the hotel is absolutely amazing. Breakfasts are fantastic, featuring a wide variety of fresh regional products and plenty of delicious options to choose from. The dinners, which can be added to the room rate as part of the half-board option, are equally outstanding. Each evening offers something different, and the dishes are always expertly prepared and incredibly tasty. As a family with high expectations when it comes to food, we were thoroughly impressed—every dinner at La Cachette was top-notch. One evening, there was even a full seafood buffet featuring an incredible selection of seafood. Despite being a buffet, nothing ever felt lacking—everything was warm, beautifully presented, and impeccably prepared. The hotel itself is fantastic as well. The rooms are comfortable, and the location is absolutely perfect—everything you need is just a stone's throw away. Ski lifts, ski schools, and rental services are all within a convenient 30-50 metre range, making it incredibly easy and hassle-free for guests.
The only aspect that could be improved is the finishing touches in the rooms. It’s clear that the hotel was transformed from an older building with a focus on cost-efficiency—mainly repainting and updating some décor—which, considering the price, feels a bit disappointing. A bit more attention to detail would make a big difference. For instance, while the wardrobes look modern on the outside, the interiors feel dated, reminiscent of the 90s. In the bathroom, some pipes were exposed, and areas of paintwork appeared unfinished. These are small issues overall. Even though it was pricey, we had a great time, and we’ll definitely be coming back!
Amazing hotel - stayed in the summer and we loved it! The sauna/ spa was a nice treat. Excellent WiFi and very friendly staff
Restaurant closed quite early but there are a few other restaurants/ bars nearby to visit instead
