    Pros +

    • Charming historical property, with excellent breakfast and very nice dining and other common areas, both indoors and outdoors.
    • - Nature.- Big and comfortable beds- Clean rooms without any bad smell ( that you can meet in old hotels or houses)- New sheets and towels.- Friendly and professional service.- Tasty food in the cafe/restaurant.- Good breakfast - "The Grand Budapest hotel" vibe, feeling like you
    • The location of this hotel is excellent, it is surrounded by a park of pine trees, silence and fresh air helped to have a good rest. The hotel is quite an old building but it is clean, food is tasty and personnel is friendly and helpful.

    Cons -

    • Substantially more updating is needed.
    • - For sure, most facilities are old, and this creates the unique vibe. However, certain elements like carpets, windows, and plumbing are visibly damaged. Some fixtures need immediate repair, while others require full replacement to meet modern standards.- Public areas such as the swimming pool, playground, and potentially other facilities need thorough cleaning and better care to ensure they are fully usable and maintained.
    • Old fashioned equipment feels like you are stuck in the 80s. The swimming pool in the middle of Aug with 36 degrees was not operational. The room had equipment which didn’t work. The WiFi was working but with a lot of interruptions.

Great location in the middle of the forest.

Pool wasn’t in working order, which was only reason we booked this property. Facilities are in need of refurbishment. Property is not well taken care of.

We appreciated the beauty of the property and felt nostalgic about the period. Beautiful nature…we came in spring, everything was green with flowers blooming and the birds were singing and busy. The property is large, sprawling and full of nature. Lovely breakfast.

It could use some paint and new rugs

This hotel is a rare gem, merging seamlessly with the Troodos forest but only a stone's throw away from the Platres village square with the restaurants, patisseries and even a local chocolatier! The hotel itself is like stepping into a time capsule - a living museum of Cyprus' colonial history. The passage of time has only added to the hotel's unique character, and you can't help the feeling of sweet nostalgia while walking along its corridors that proudly showcase famous patrons like Daphne du Maurier, Giorgos Seferis and King Farouk of Egypt (for whom Cyprus' national drink Brandy Sour was famously invented at the hotel).

Hotel needs a major renovation. Parking is a problem when the hotel is full.

    Nice location, live music

The furniture and equipment of the hotel is very old. Overall we didn't feel like the price matched the experience.
