New Helvetia Historic Hotel

The location is great. The staff is very kind and helpful. The view is beautiful.

Not well heated. The toilet door handle was broken and kept on falling down. Two of the body towels were dirty. In general the place is a bit outdated, but that is part of its charm.

The location was perfect. Very beutiful hotel, nice vibes. The staff was really helpful. Clean room and bathroom. From the room balcony there was a nice relaxing view of the trees.

The only downside was that the room was a bit noisy, you could hear noise from the room next to you.Also a good addition would be to add a small fridge in the room.

Very friendly staff who were also very helpful. We appreciated the fact that we were upgraded - our suite was great! The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of products.

Our family enjoyed every aspect of our stay at the New Helvetia. We did not realize until we arrived how unique the hotel is. The rich history is showcased in it's social areas that include a full bar, dining area, sitting area and gorgeous terrace overlooking the foothills of the Troodos. The space is full of vintage charm, but also included all the modern ammenities we needed (updated, clean and well eqipped bathroom), air-conditioning, and strong WIFI service. The staff was incredibly knowledgable, friendly and attentive. They truly seemed to love and take pride in this very special place. Go and enjoy!

Room was modern, very large and comfortable, with a tiny balcony over the forestOverall atmosphere is awesome: building and common areas on the ground floor come directly from Gatsby period! I really felt like a 30's actress during the breakfast and I really enjoyed panorama from the hall

Mattress was not so comfy and windows couldn't be locked. As there is no lift and parking lots are few, I would not recommend this hotel to elderly people. Breakfast was a continental one with almost salty specialities: it could be improved by moving cakes, jams and choco cream in a different area, more accessible

The restaurant and balcony in the back are my favourite things about this hotel. Also the rooms were recently renovated and super clean! It's also a big bonus that every room had a balcony, no matter which category you book.

Lots of bad stuff.Smelly room, ugly room, no electricity sockets at the bed, shower leaking all over the floor.

Spartan rooms. No extra pillows or blankets, no welcome mineral water. Breakfast buffet could use some scrambled eggs and pastries. Parking is difficult. Very expensive given the facilities.

The hotel exudes a unique charm, as if it’s been transported from a different century. Tucked away from the bustling areas of Platres, it provided a wonderful escape from the city's hustle and the coastal heat. It was the perfect retreat to enjoy some quiet and peaceful time with the family.

The location and the hotel are very picturesque and is also ideal for solo travellers. Asked for a room at the top floor and the stuff were very polite and cooperative.

even though the room was clean, you can tell by the lack of renovation that everything was falling apart. Also, saw a cockroach in my room which was unexpected because it was very clean but probably came from the pipes.

I really loved the atmosphere in this hotel. It was opened in 1929 and has a lot of character. The location is fantastic for exploring the nearby hiking trails. My kids loved sleeping upstairs in the room under the sky light. We would definitely stay again if returning to the troodos region.

Perhaps provide a small fridge in the room.

please take notice there is no AC ( there is a wall heater and heater) but it was not that cold.

The no parking, the bed was not comfortable at all, the pillow as well ( if you have any neck or back issues, i wouldn't recommend) the smell of moisture in the room and the broken window in 0 degrees temperature

Cleanliness, shower head wasn’t working, cold draft was coming through the window. The restaurant was very basic, did not feel like a restaurant. Most of the food was frozen, expensive and did not taste nice. I mean 15 euros for nuggets.
