Hotel Ungheria Varese 1946

Helpfull staff, good breakfast, lovely architecture, cozy and excellent value for money.

The hotel is not situated in the city center. It was about 25 miutes walk on foot from Varese station. However, there is public transportation just outside the hotel.

Friendly welcome, Clean rooms, fresh bedding and towels daily.

Paying extra for scrambled eggs and fresh juice at breakfast, not a great car park (extra cost) with very steep access to underground, poor location for the town, noisy road.

Friendly staff, delicious breakfast. The room was very clean and silent as it was located to the backyard. Supermarket in walking distance.

The ev charging station was not working with the recommended app, but it worked with the Swiss charge app.

The location was perfect and was easy to get around (Lake Maggiore, Milan and other local sights and has a direct fast train to Malpensa airport) with a good public transport. My room was was lovely and had a quaint balcony. The staff was friendly and very helpful. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in Hotel Ungerhia 1946 Varese.

This hotel offers rooms with charming wooden style filled with various furniture pieces, with exceptionally comfortable beds, fresh sheets, and spacious bathrooms. The staff was nice and helpful.

The TV was rather old and lacked streaming platforms, the Wi-Fi connection was poor and there was no cutlery provided in the room (also our friends' room was missing fridge and electric kettle).

Three person room good. Clean. Basic.

Extra €15 for a pet. Says there’s parking onsite but the parking spaces are painfully small unless you have a small car. Says EV charging on site but it was cordoned off. We parked in our allotted space but couldn’t get out of the car on the drivers side. Other guests asked us to move car even though they found have got past and out wing mirror was smashed in the process. They then left. Expensive stay!

The environment was enjoyable and impeccably clean, making it a comfortable and relaxing place to unwind. The breakfasts were fantastic, with a variety of delicious options every morning.However, really exceptional was the service provided by the staff. They were always friendly, approachable, and incredibly helpful in resolving my situation. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Breakfast was good. The service was exceptional. Very nice and clean rooms and spacious. Will definitely return.

The hotel team are really friendly & nothing is too much trouble. The hotel is clean and good value. The breakfast is great. The hotel is on a bus route to the station, 5 mins away, with lots of onward connections to Milan / the lakes.

A small help would be a blackout curtain as light does come into the room at night.

Parking spot.

Poor sound insulation (TV turned on in the next room every day until midnight, it seemed like there was no wall...). poor global insulation of the room. I don't know how, but with the windows closed tobacco smoke enter from the room next door. It was extremely unpleasant to inhale the smoke during the night. Poor breakfast. The cleaning starts at 7h so to much noise. Internet wi-fi needs you to create an account..

Staff were super friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast. The room was good sized and well equipped.

There were three steep and awkward steps in part of the room leading to the desk area. Guests should be asked in advance whether this would be a problem as it might be for some. Parking is limited and tight if you have a larger car.

Staff was very attentive, helpful and friendly.

Some noise from the street when the windows were open. Didn’t disturb us when the windows were closed. Book rooms with balconies to avoid the noise of the street.

Breakfast was lovely, fresh and very high quality. There was a small range of items but all of them were delicious and coffee was really high quality.

Neat and tidy hotel with a super helpful and smiling personnel. Good refreshing breakfast and really great coffee.Rooms are quiet and comfortable. Lobby area and tables outside make it possible to rest or have a chat outside your room.Nice balconies with some views on the mountains. General shop just across the street, plenty of bars in the area. Also wonderful church (Chiesa di S. Francesco) 2 minutes walk distance.

Rather small parking area - guests coming by car may have to park away from hotel.Also if you arrive by train, consider taking a bus - the hotel is within walking distance from Varese station but it's a long walk.

Clean room

Unfortunately there are thin walls (you can hear neighbours watching TV until 2am in the morning) A bit far from town, around 35 minNoisy traffic (we had room with Main Street view)

We only stayed here for one night but our stay was very pleasant. The room was spacious, super clean, well heated and the staff was really accommodating and helpful. Free parking is subject to availability but there is also a free parking lot close by. A bus station to the city center is located 100 meters from the entrance so it's very convenient. Great value for money.
