Pros +
- Charming old-world little hotel with comfortable rooms and exceptional dining.
- I really enjoyed my room (#103) with a beautiful little balcony. The hotel is at a great location in the center of Varese and even though the building is old, everything is clean and in good shape.
- Good location, friendly staff, nice breakfast
Cons -
- The breakfast was pretty basic. There were no fresh vegetables, for example, but maybe that's just traditional Lombardy cuisine?
- the noise
- Breakfast room can become cool, choose a seat away from the usually open passage to the outside seats. Some unidentified humming noise, possibly a fridge in adjacent room is noticeable. A nice comfy easy chair could make this particular room even nicer.

Good location, friendly staff, nice breakfast
the noise
The hotel is in the beautiful city of Varese, and although in a historic building, is up-to-date and well-maintained. The room was very spacious, with high ceilings, and a roomy bathroom. Breakfast was delicious- high quality breads , cakes, meats, cheeses and eggs. The coffee was so good. Checkin was easy. The town has a train station, from which one can get to Malpensa within 45 minutes, or so.
Renovated in a classic style. Room with balcony was above the restaurant and one of the more important two lane roads, but neither is an issue (many other rooms appear to be towards the back)

Stayed here twice now. We love this place. Great for USA or Brits. The staff is friendly. The rooms are bigger than typically found in Italia. The furniture is nice. The breakfast is very good. In the top 15% of breakfasts we've had in the 40+ days we've spent in Italia the past 2+ years.
* very nice receptionist ( she helped me a lot, thank you madam ) * very very center location near everything * quiet and nice neighborhood * good prices
Breakfast is really good, with also cakes. They have a restaurant, but you should book a table because it's often full. The hotel is well located in the city centre. Staff commendable for the kindness.
For people moving with their own car, it may be considered that they do not have much room for car parking there
Very nice room with balcony overlooking the street.Excellent breakfast--I especially liked the crusty, artisan bread and the boil-yourself eggs.
Very close to the city old center. parking was available. the restaurant at the ground flooe of the hotel is highly recomanded
location
A good value for moneySuper good locationDescent room spacious and a good bathroom Reasonable breakfast and good staff. The restaurant is so good a michlen star for many years. I had dinner there every day with Reasonable pricesTry the risotto fondue
A small crack shower
We loved our room which was beautifully decorated and had traditional furniture. It was quiet and the restaurant wassuperb. Breakfast was wonderful too. We would love to return.
Beautiful old hotel run by lovely people. Rooms were comfortable as were the two twin beds we had requested. The restaurant was amazing, which at first we thought was expensive but upon looking around the area we found it very competitive. People queued every night to get in to the restaurant so booking recommended. The included breakfast was fine for what we paid. The hotel was central to visit the areas we wanted to see.
The only fault we had was the lack of a comfortable area to sit inside. It was either the bar or your bedroom. It rained all day for one during our visits and we stayed in our room all day apart from lunch.
The restaurant was the jewel in the crown. The staff are sensational and make you feel like you are their special customer. Food plentiful and delicious. They also welcomed our two dogs which was a huge bonus
The room was basic, in particular the wires for the lighting. We were also right next to the road which was incredibly noisyIt was clean however and a good range of toiletrues
The staff was super friendly, the breakfast was incredible, the room was a descent size.
It wasn’t easy to find the door to the hotel. There is no sign. For some reason they keep it locked at all times and you need to ring the bell for someone to open. Weird. Most of the rooms are facing a very busy street and it can be quite loud from time to time. A solution for that is to keep the balcony door closed which is not ideal. Also the walls between the rooms are very thin since I was woken up multiple times by people showering and drying their hair at 3AM.
Central to Varese, quiet room and friendly staff
Bed was firm but still comfortable
Camera Fresca e silenziosa. Personale ok. Check in veloce.
Hotel location is perfect, rooms are clean and comfortable .Wifi connection is also very .
From start to finish, an exceptional place to stay. Fantastic, friendly staff. Great food and central to everything in Varese. I would not hesitate to stay here again. Thank you ??
Large room. No road noise. Well appointed.
The stairs are a little dark and uneven. Fine if you take your time or are sure footed. So sad the restaurant staff had their day off; our light lunch day 1 was delicious.
