Palace Grand Hotel Varese

Breakfast was incredible - the food, the view, and generally was more than we expected. You truly get the full experience staying here. The room was very clean, very comfortable, and felt like a little luxury. The hotel upgraded our room at no cost - we loved it! Thank you!

I didn't have breakfast...though it looked okay, not great. Too much of a hurry, but the coffee was coming from an automatic machine which was not to standard I think...so I went out. The room was spacious and lovely, and the bathroom very nice.

Staff was not so friendly on check in...insisting on me giving an email so that they could market to me, which is something I never do, and did not this time either, but they kept pushing and being vaguely untruthful about it. Don't like that. They made up some excuse about having to contact me should have to, perhaps if I left something, but I was like, you already can through booking.com--you don't need my email...I don't want messages from you

The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean and perfect.Great service the staff was friendly, professional and helpful in every situation and need. Super dog friendly.We could always find a place for us with our dog with no issues.

The hotel is really cosy, comfortable and located in a beautiful spot. Very friendly staff, excellent breakfast in a restaurant with a great view, comfortable beds. We traveled there in our car, if you travel on foot or with public transport, it is a little far away and uphill. We really enjoyed our stay, and actually plaanning to go back there soon. Great value for the price.

Nothing big to mention here. Just one day there was an issue with internet, they fixed it as soos an they could.

We loved the hotel for its literal 'grandeur', yet the rooms are modern with all amenities needed. We also appreciated the included breakfast with a view. The park around the hotel invites for a stroll and offers plenty of parking. Last. but not least, the staff is very friendly and helpful. We're were so happy with the stay that we've already booked another night. Grazie for everything

The location

The swimming pool was not available. This is not mentioned by booking. The restaurant in the hotel takes ages to bring out your order even for a little child... and the steak wasn't a steak.

Very good price quality relation: an old glory former 5 star resort with charm for the price of a motel.

The town of Varese is nowadays horrible. Do not go there, enjoy the hotel prémices instead. Eat in their restaurant, which is ok.

One elevator to all And no indication what floor is the lift onSo you don't know how big is the wait.Room has no charm.Walls are paper thin , which is very true as mentioned in the comments.Your neighbor and you are in the same space .If they talk you hear . If tv is on your hear it.1 night I needed to ask them to be quiet.As it was after midnight.No kettle.

Very nice place, hotel is from the year 1913. Somewhere you can see that some maintenance would be welcomed, but actually everything was working. Large parking place in front of the hotel, there is a spot for electric car as well, comfortable beds, temperature, very good breakfast, nice view from hotel room (additional fee, if you want valley / mountains view). Staff was also nice, english speaking. Check in / out quick and easy.

There is a slow elevator, one day was broken, to get to 5th floor was challenge. Also, to take the shuttle from the city you have to book it on the reception, that we did not know. No problem to take taxi but anyway.

A stunning art deco style hotel with extraordinary facilities, in a wonderful, high set location looking over Varese. Breakfast was provided, and excellent. We also ate our evening meal at the restaurant, which was a wonderful dining experience.A walk around the grounds was also wonderful.

The room was tight in size, but adequate.

Despite a one-night stay, we enjoyed our time exploring the property its facilities and were greeted by lovely staff, we didn't stay for breakfast but were provided a box for our early flight which was a lovely attention. Our room was spacious, simple yet had an air of elegance and history, our bathroom was stunning in marble with a bathtub and functioning jacuzzi which we took advantage of. If we had time we would have explored the spa facilities as they looked beautiful and the prices for their services were very reasonable.We did not dine, however, they had a lovely range of menu items in their restaurant although I was craving a particular pasta so we had to outsource our food. Their bar was lovely and seating area was large and refined.

Nothing to say about what I didn't like but it was a shame we couldn't go in the outdoor pool as it's a seasonal opening which we understand.We did notice a certain demographic of people, much older, we are a very young couple so one can presume it's not often they receive young visitors and seems like a historic hotel, but that didn't bother my partner and I as much.Perhaps the only thing that was too historic was the elevator as it was a bit slow, but we weren't in any rush!Lovely overall.
