Hotel Rondinella Locarno

It could not be a better location. The views were amazing and the rooms very clean and comfortable. The staff was beyond kind and friendly and went above and beyond to provide safe gluten free breakfast options for my very sensitive celiac daughter. The breakfast was delicious and we had plenty of delicious options. The rates were so reasonable. We won’t stay anywhere else if we ever come back!

Perfect location. The view from the balcony was amazing. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Our room was very spacious, especially for Europe. Having a refrigerator in the room was a big plus, too.

We couldn't open our window because of the people smoking on the balcony next to ours. The shower was small. It would be a tight fit for a tall/big person.

Centrally located right near Lake Maggiore and Locarno Old Town. We had a nice outside deck with a small table and chairs with a great view of the lake. Nice breakfast with lots of options (pay extra for it). Comfortable beds and friendly, helpful staff. Near to shops, restaurants and a parking structure (which the hotel gets a discount for guests). The restaurant right in front of the hotel has very good food and also gives a discount to hotel guests.

Due to its central location in town, and near the lake, it is near a busy intersection and there’s lots of traffic noise. The motorcycles and incredibly loud police cars made it hard to sleep without a sound machine.

Location: The staff was very friendly, with a comfortable bed and pillows.

A little noisy at times

Breakfast was very good, but was on a charge of 15. Management and staff were a delight.

Everything was excellent - location, breakfast, a balcony with a partial lake view and a very friendly staff!

Fabulous location!!!! we had a great balcony overlooking the lake!!! This hotel is just steps away from the train station and the funicular to the madonna del Saso!!! Extremely convenient! The staff could not have been nicer!!! They stowed our bags when we were leaving…

Lovely little property in the center, close to everything Locarno has to offer. Super friendly and welcoming staff.

Breakfast was ok but simple, no eggs or anything hot.

Very good location,quiet with nice rooms with view to the lake and mountains.Stuff is exceptional nice and help you with all your questions and give good advices.

Well breakfast is not so good,few dishes and if you like to eat breakfast -that's not your choice.Better take breakfast outside in the pubs.

Amazing breakfast, staff and location.

The only downside for us was that there was no common area to sit together in the evening after the reception had closed and the kids had gone to bed. We had to crowd into one of the rooms. And the rooms are definitely on the smaller side, especially the 3-bed-room. It would really be great if the common area around the reception could be open 24/7.

breakfast is ok but can be a bit better.The room's furniture is a bit old, but still ok.

Front desk lady was extremely helpful and extraordinary in helping me make the most of my limited time there. Fantastic view in large comfortable room.. Felt very safe. Convenient to walk down short distance from train/bus station, enjoyed the little sightseeing train on the same block, little grocery store, area buses, and boat to Brissago for transfer to Italy. Appreciated the Locarno local transport pass which i utilized multiple times. Breakfast was good. Beds were ok-- Would have appreciated more padding on the mattress itself. Definitely recommend for female solo traveler

Our room had fabulous views, was bright and airy. Staff very helpful and friendly. Excellent location.

Lovely welcome from the receptionist, knowledgeable and helpful. Easy location near the railway station and ferry port.

The bedroom walls were very thin, you could clearly hear people around you. Lots of traffic noise as well.

The balcony had a view of the lake (the room does not). The room could do with some additional power points there was only 1 being used by the television (which I never watch).

Superb staff, great location, good value for money. Reception lady is very pleasant and helpful!

Sound isolation from the street is not good, so, when some motorbikes roar their motor, one can hear that (night, morning).

It was a stones throw away from the train station and the staff were really nice. The showers were nice and hot and they had an elevator to get to the room.

The only thing was the bed. They were two twin beds pushed together. I know that's pretty normal for Europe, but they weren't that comfortable. Everything else was great.
