Pros +
- Some positives, the resort grounds are well maintained and the foyer is visually stunning. The main restaurant has a good selection but if you stay for more than a week it becomes repetitive. There is an over abundance of pools, but note that only the swim up pools are heated. Swimming is possible at the neighbouring Coraya resort but don't expect to be made to feel welcome. The live music was just an earache apart from our last night where a tasteful flutest played lovely modern renditions. Sadly, we will return home unfulfilled and tired. This was by no means a restorative holiday of good food and relaxing spa treatments.
- Great resort, everything is super clean. The food is amazing and there is a lot of options. The animation team is very friendly and helpful, and their shows are really cool.
- The hotel is very clean and offer a lot of services, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. One of the best hotels I have had stay at it.
Cons -
- It was a hit and a miss for us. Our 10 stay here was booked months in advance and paid for days before arrival. We were snowed in Amsterdam. Our flight was delayed because of the bad weather. We informed the hotel well in advance but we received little to no understanding of this unforeseen circumstances which were completely out of our control. Long story short, it took us 2 days to get to the resort. We flew to Hurghada instead as the next available flight to Marsa Alam with our chosen airline was 4 days later, where we took a 3 hour taxi ride. We lost 2 days of our all inclusive accommodation. The staff were inconsistent. Some days we were met with a smile other days we were puzzled by their unfriendly stand-offish ways.We booked 6 massages, 2 facials and a hair colour between my husband and myself. 1 out of my 3 massages was good. My facial left several bruises and a puffy bruised eye. Racco the Asian restaurant delivered old tough tasteless duck, hard rice and tasteless chewy massamam curry. I found a stone in my dessert. Fortunately I am a cautious eater and managed not to chip my tooth.Regretfully the room photographs are not true to what you get. The beach is not swimmable at all. Sad truth, the resort has little to offer by way of snorkeling.
- The fact that I didn't like at all is that at the end of our stay, during check-out, they asked us to review the hotel. but insisted we do it together on the spot, saying it would only take a few seconds. I thought they did this so guests wouldn’t forget to leave a review later. In reality, they do it because they guide you to give the property the highest possible rating in every category to maintain their overall score. My Booking app hadn’t worked since our arrival at the property, and I thought it was just a Booking issue. But now I believe the hotel caused it on purpose: in fact, at check-out, to let you write the review, they create a hotspot from the receptionist’s phone (disconnecting you from the hotel’s official Wi-Fi), and suddenly Booking magically starts working again.Another thing we didn't like is that they oblige men to wear long trousers in their restaurants (you are notified that as soon as you finalize the booking). The coral reef is quite grey there, with not many colorful fishes as we saw in other spots, but we only stayed for one day so maybe we weren't lucky. It is the right place for guests who want a very very quite spot. The triple room we booked wasn't ready at our arrival, but maybe because we booked it on Booking 45 minutes before our arrival there.

The hotel is very clean and offer a lot of services, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. One of the best hotels I have had stay at it.
I have been fortunate enough to travel extensively and stay in some of the world’s finest hotels, including those carrying the prestigious 7-star label. Yet, nothing prepared me for the experience I had here. From the very first moment, it wasn’t just the luxury of the property that stood out, it was the atmosphere, the effortless warmth, and the genuine smiles that seemed to light up every corner. The staff were not simply attentive; they were intuitive, anticipating our needs before I even voiced them.Special mention must go to Mohamed *2 from reception and Steven, who consistently went far beyond expectations, and AbdulRahim from the beach restaurant along with his team, whose service was on an entirely different level. The golf cart team were equally exceptional—helpful, courteous, and cheerful at all times. Without exception, every staff member demonstrated a professionalism and kindness that left a lasting impression. Their ability to go above and beyond redefined for me what true hospitality means. To say they “went the extra mile” feels like an understatement, they made us feel not just like guests, but like family. The atmosphere throughout the hotel was uplifting, elegant, and relaxed all at once. Every detail, from the way we were greeted to the thoughtful personal touches in service was flawlessly executed.I never imagined I would say this about a hotel in Egypt which makes me very proud, but this hotel has set a new benchmark, one that even the world’s most acclaimed properties could learn from. Truly, an unforgettable experience. Finally, I would like this note of appreciation to be shared directly with Mr. Ayman, the General Manager, and his assistant (I believe his name is Mr. Magdi). Their leadership is clearly reflected in the culture and spirit of the entire team, and they deserve to know how deeply their efforts are valued.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (and if I could give more, I would!)
We had a truly excellent experience at Steigenberger Alya Marsa Alam. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality and cleanliness stood out. The atmosphere of the resort is warm and welcoming, with a lovely blend of relaxation and elegance. The food was of great quality, with plenty of variety and delicious flavors. Special compliments to the hotel manager, Mr. Karim, for running everything so smoothly. The reception team was outstanding, and we would like to give a special thanks to Mr. Steven at the front desk for his professionalism and kindness. At the Mashawi Beach Restaurant, manager Mr. Abd El Raheem made sure every detail was perfect, while in the Sultana Main Restaurant, the staff members Mr. Emad, Mr. Mohamed, and Mr. Yahya provided excellent service with genuine smiles.Housekeeping was also remarkable – thank you to Mr. Ahmed for keeping our room spotless and comfortable throughout our stay.We were pleasantly surprised with a lovely upgrade to a Deluxe Sea View Room, which offered the most amazing views of the Red Sea – an unforgettable highlight of our holiday.Overall, our stay exceeded expectations in every way. Highly recommended for anyone seeking top-quality hospitality in Marsa Alam!
I Liked that at the reception they helped us booking the restaurant for the night even if we were out of time for the booking. We only stayed for one night, but the place is really elegant, quite (too quite for us, as at 11 p.m. nobody was around), swimming pools are big, clean and beautiful. The food is amazing (not only for dinner but even at breakfast). Our room was very clean, but quite small. Modern but had no personality. You could be anywhere in the world, standard.
The fact that I didn't like at all is that at the end of our stay, during check-out, they asked us to review the hotel. but insisted we do it together on the spot, saying it would only take a few seconds. The property is simply amazing. The amenities, the staff, the entertainment, the proximity to the beach and reef all make this property exceptional. The friendliness of the staff goes beyond what we’ve ever experienced elsewhere. They kept on checking up on us to make sure that everything was perfect. They paid attention to every detail. The attention to details in the construction and decoration of the property is also worth mentioning. The property is gorgeous and very elegant.
Nothing, everything was perfect
We were celebrating both our anniversary and birthday , making this vacation exceptionally meaningful for us. The thoughtful surprises—including elegant decorations, flowers, and a birthday cake—added a personal touch that elevated the entire experience. These gestures created unforgettable memories and contributed to a truly delightful and cherished stay. We were satisfied with the diverse selection of food, the enjoyable beach experience, and the quality of service provided across various outlets. We also appreciated the prompt and efficient response to our requests for assistance. Based on this positive experience, We would gladly recommend this hotel to friends and we look forward to returning in the future.
Nothing :)
Everything. The friendliness of the staff. The amazing customer service. The attention to details in making guests stay comfortable and enjoyable. The hotel facilities is in pristine condition and the pool is amazing with very smart sun beds set up to endure privacy. The beach is amazing with eco-friendly sun beds and shades. The safety is a priority with signs everywhere and entrance and exist is well marked. The Room is impressive ( we at stayed in Deluxe room with sea view) even better than described. The landscape and greenery is amazing ( I have seen maintenance team working silently at night to make sure the place looks perfect and clean when guests wake up next day). The Food quality and choice of food items (With multiple al carte restaurant we choose the Asiana and Seafood).Definitely will come back.
Unforgettable stay, exceptional in every wayThe staff was exceptional hospitality and friendly, check-in was quick and smooth. The room itself was spacious, and equipped with everything we could need. The view from the window was breathtaking. What really sets this hotel apart is the service. Every member of the team went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay for our honeymoon.Steigenberger exceeded all expectations, and we definitely be returning.
Everything was beyond exceptional, the staff is highly attentive and active, food variety and quality was super, The rooms are ultra clean , no insects whatsoever, the roaming birds are charming, was the first visit and will definetly not be the last.Special thank you to Beshoy from the reception, the guy is super helpful and is a valuable asset to the Facility. Looking forward to coming back soon.
I hated that I had to leave.
It was great . Good variety and tasty
Almost nothing. Small comment on the pool and beach staffThey speak as if no one understands them they need to be more careful about their words (nothing personal happened to me but they depended on the fact that everyone is a foreigner).
Everything is perfect, feels like home, special thanks to Mr, Al-Husseiny from the reception for the warm welcome, quick check-in and the complementary room upgrade which has amazing direct sea view. Will be coming back soon for sure
Literally nothing
Everything about this place exceeds expectations by a 100 miles . The environment is heavenly , the staff are attentive, courteous , skilled and absolutely nice . Nothing is too much and they exceed expectations like no other place . This place is in a league of its own and it is a definite repeat as frequent as possible We felt treated like royalty
Nothing at all . I loved it
Everything was amazing! The pool, the sea and the service! Special thanks to Mr. Taha in the reception and Mr. Adel in the restaurant.
The trip finished super fast.
It is a very elegant setting, quite, beautiful , wonderful service, top quality customer service, helpful and kind staff, room size, cleanness, excellent food choices, lots of vegetarian, vegan and gluten free food options. Well maintained.
An exceptional hotel. Beautifully manicured grounds, comfortable and spacious accomodation, excellent facilities, delicious and a huge selection of food, and great service. Plus there's a great dive centre on-site. Definitely one of the best hotels I've stayed in...and I've stayed in 100's.
The beach is covered in rocky dead coral necessitating footwear (but there's plenty of space around the numerous expansive pools on the property, so its not a big issue)
This hotel exceeds our expectation, hands down the best hotel experience in Egypt not just the Red Sea! Here are some of the highlights,-Staff are very helpful, professional and super kind. Credit to Mr Karim Rasla for his help and support throughout our stay.-Beautiful architecture and landscape throughout the hotel, eye candy! ❤️-Great location with amazing coral at the beach-Activities throughout the day, live music, games, events. Thanks to the animation team.-Multiple restaurants, the main one has incredible food. Some of the best Egyptian food we have. -Multiple swimming pools, game corners and bars. We had an amazing vacation. We are coming again later this summer.-Our room had an amazing view over the sea!-Some of the most entertaining shows at night. We loved them
Everything is perfect. Thank you very muchIf there is something to improve it is the stage for the night shows. It needs a bigger area as all places in front are taken right away. There is more seats on the side (not a great view) than on the front.
The staff was brilliant and very supportive. Especially Mr Kareem Rasla and Mr. Taha Mostafa. Rooms were magnificent with out standing sea view and facilities. Also food was outstanding covering every cuisine .. I will come again certainly
Hotel facilities are great. Staff is very professional, welcoming and friendly. We spent 4 days and we wished we would have stayed for more. Wide variety of food in their main restaurant and à la carte restaurants. Honestly all their food was great and very well presented and served. I would definitely recommend and will be happy to stay there again. It was one of the best trips ever❤️ thanks to Mr karim and all other staff for their amazing hospitality and support ..
