Hotel Seepark Thun

Beautiful view, great sauna and wellness area, excellent breakfast.

Location was beautiful in walking distance to the Centre, Staff were very helpful, Breakfast was excellent. Parking was on site which is always a bonus. Had a small problem which was sorted out very quickly

Room temperature was freezing, and additional fan heater was proposed. But this system is noisy and blowing hot air, not comfortable at all ! This temperature control is way below, Swiss hotel standards

Great place! Surrounded by great nature. Clean and modern. Breakfast was also very nice. Wellness definitely did not disappoint. We had some great ice cream at the hotel for those summer nights. Overall a great stay and would definitely return!

Sophie was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I loved the location, the peace and quiet, and the staff. I ate three gourmet dinners and they were beyond fabulous!

The lunch menu had too few choices and the focaccia sandwich was not a good choice.

The wellness facilities were fantastic, well-needed after a long day out hiking. The free bikes were also lovely for a leisurely trip around the lake - which was right by the hotel and was beautiful. All reception staff we encountered were also fantastic, very helpful and accommodating which we appreciated. The bed was also very comfortable and the pillows were extremely comfy! Also appreciated the great variety at breakfast and all of the staff we came across during this.

When having a coffee by the lake as a final goodbye, we had the worst treatment from a waitress that I have ever had in my life. Without any hesitation she accused us of trying to leave without paying, shouting at us in front of other guests. This was extremely embarrassing and I refute being treated like a criminal. We had stood up to go and enquire about how to pay and were actually waiting to get her attention because we had sat with empty cups for 20 minutes (it was not busy). We were even going to offer to take the cups inside to be helpful, more fool us. When we tried explaining this she repeatedly shouted "No, I think you were going" over and over. I can only assume we were being judged on our appearance as we were in sports kit and a bit discheveled after a day of exercise - we would never dream of not paying. What's 10 Swiss Francs more on an already costly hotel stay? We felt wholly unwelcome and it did add to the existing air of superiority of the place. Suffice to say I was left mortified and it has tarnished our entire stay. Is the price of the hotel worth being shouted at and treated like a thief? Not remotely. It brought me to tears in public and noone deserves that. The room is also quite pokey so I wouldn't recommend staying for too many nights, at least not in our room option.

Spacious rooms, mountain view, quiet hotel, nice staff, good breakfast with many choice. Possibility to rent bikes for free, which makes it easy to go to the city centre quickly.

Breakfast was average, in terms of food selection and service ,seems to be self service we had to look for cutlery and napkins.It seems the hotel mainly caters for large groups, might have been our bad luck that we stayed there at the same time with many groups in the house.

The hotel is very nicely designed and decorated, the location is awesome- you have a direct access to the lake. Very quiet, surrounded by trees, with beautiful view on the lake. The spa of the hotel is exceptionally nice and well equipped, we enjoyed it a lot. The breakfast was excellent and staff was very friendly. I will come again to this hotel!

Restaurant closed all evening for private events, without informing Guests. No AC. Not good value for money

There was a lot to like at seepark thun. The sauna and spa area were very impressive. The breakfast was a solid 9/10. And the bathroom in the room was really good

The major downside is the lack of cooling in the room. Yes you can have the window open which definitely helps cool the room but with the lack of fly screens in place we definitely had some insects come in as well. All this can be avoided by not travelling in peak summer season too

We loved the location by Thum lake and the facilities. Hotel staff were charming and helpful. We enjoyed swimming in the lake with our dog and cycling around the town.

The only negative aspect was that our room was above the staff Coffee Corner and at night time it was a bit noisy as we had our windows opened because of the hot weather..

The lake, good choice of cheese at the breakfast, very nice wellness included in price, public transportation connection is perfect, very dog friendly up to allowing to be present during breakfast

Air-conditioning is missing, the fan provided by the hotel didn't help so much

Not much we didn’t like, but this one is very important: no airconditioning!!! Beds too small. We had a very bad night’s sleep because of it. Also: very expensive rooms.

Picturesque location at the Thunersee, with friendly staff, outside restaurant seating, fabulous restaurant, outdoor food truck, swimming adjacent to the hotel, free bicycle rental, SUP rental, wellness facilities.

It’s basically an older conference hotel from the 80’s, that’s been updated to a 4 star hotel. None of the rooms face the lake and are not particularly roomy nor exceptional for the relatively high price, but well updated for today’s modern standards.

The single rooms were dark, you couldn’t open the shutters. No AC . Of you opened the windows they were noisy as on the main road. Looked like a mis representation from the pictures of the leisure facilities.

Rooms and atmosphere

The location is superb, the service was great, the food was amazing. We visited on the first of August, seeing the fireworks around the lake from the hotel terrace was amazing. Parking our car was easy and we got a free public transport pass to see the sights, great!

Point of improvement could be airco in the room for a hot summer day. But we didnt plan on staying in the room. Having a kettle to make tea would be great.
